Sunset Acres est une maison à couper le souffle, située sur 5 hectares et est à une courte distance en voiture du centre-ville d'Idyllwild. Cette beauté architecturale inspirée de Santa Fe a des touches de design dans toute la maison offrant confort et élégance pour votre escapade à la montagne. Les caractéristiques uniques comprennent six ponts qui offrent une vue sur la montagne et l'océan, une faune abondante, de nombreux sentiers privés sur la propriété et l'accès à un studio séparé avec un grand espace de pont pour une détente paisible et la meilleure vue du coucher de soleil à Idyllwild!

L'espace

La maison a 4 niveaux. Le niveau principal comprend la chambre d'hôtes principale avec lit king-size, cheminée et accès à la terrasse privée et salle de bains séparée. Un niveau de salon en contrebas comprend également un coin repas, un accès terrasse et terrasse et une cuisine. L'étage a une petite mezzanine avec lit pliant, qui pourrait accueillir confortablement deux enfants ou un adulte et accéder à une autre terrasse. Le niveau inférieur a une deuxième chambre avec lit queen, salle de bain attenante, espace de travail et accès au patio de niveau inférieur.

Autres choses à noter

Cette maison a deux chambres et un grenier. La mezzanine a un lit pliant qui est de taille normale et pourrait accueillir deux enfants confortablement mais peut être trop petit pour deux adultes.

De nombreuses maisons de vacances essaient de maximiser le nombre de personnes que l'on peut accueillir - nous adoptons l'approche inverse. Cette maison est parfaite pour jusqu'à 5 personnes. Vous aurez le confort et l'intimité (2 chambres sur des étages séparés avec salles de bain séparées, et un loft au dernier étage avec un canapé-lit)

Le salon et la chambre du rez-de-chaussée sont équipés d'une télévision et d'un lecteur DVD et sont équipés de DirecTV et Netflix.

Beautiful stay in every way

We truly loved staying at Jim and Tara's beautiful house and property. It's hard to know which we enjoyed more - the house or grounds. It's even better in person than in the photos. The house has all the amenities you need to be able to cook, relax and sleep well. The guest book they have thoroughly answers any questions you might have about the house or things to do in the area. We can't wait to come back!

Didn’t want to leave!

My boyfriend and I had the best time here! We are huge fans of Idyllwild and have been many times. This property is by far the best place we have stayed. We left kicking and screaming:) The house is amazing. So much space! And the decks with the views was such a treat. Hiking trails are very close by and town as well. We enjoyed wandering the 5 acres and plan to go back ASAP!

Amazing Views; Open Airy Home

Beautiful property with amazing views. I'm talking WoW Factor views. Clean and well stocked. Everything worked perfectly. We loved it and wouldn't hesitate to stay again. WiFi was fabulous throughout the property (because I was working remotely) and Air Conditioning was awesome given the 90+ heat. There are a lot of stairs, so not for people with mobility issues, but that's pretty clear from the images online.

Gorgeous Retreat & Lovely Hosts

This is a beautiful, mountain retreat that you’re sure to love whether you’re seeking privacy, adventure, or a bit of both. The house is cozy and clean with incredible views. You’ll enjoy excellent linens, a huge tub/nice shower, and a separate studio that overlooks the mountains. If you like to cook, you’ll love the powerful range, oven, and outdoor bbq. As hosts, Tara and Jim went above and beyond when they thoughtfully checked in with us before it snowed to make sure we were prepared and safe. In rentals we’ve stayed in through other companies, owners didn’t seems to care if we ran into problems, and would then ask us for excellent reviews. You will not run into these types of problems with Jim and Tara. They respond quickly if you have questions and are wonderful people with an extensive knowledge of mountain life. We highly recommend their home and can’t wait to rent from them in the future!

Most amazing view in Idyllwild

This is an amazing cabin with arguably the best view in all of Idyllwild. Every morning we woke up to the most gorgeous scenery out of every window, and sunsets are so beautiful they don’t even look real. The cabin itself is immaculate; the bedrooms are spacious and the linens were nice, the kitchen is new and spotless. We loved the big open living room and dining room, and the downstairs is just as pristine. The trails in the back were by far our favorite part, we had more fun exploring and trying to find all of the different paths. This cabin also had something I didn’t know we even needed, a generator! When all of the power went out in Idyllwild we were blissfully unaware because the generator had kicked in automatically and we stayed nice and warm. We used to always stay in the Fern Valley area, but now we are spoiled and will never go back. This cabin has so much space around it, you never see anyone else and you feel like you have the mountain all to yourself. It’s also conveniently close to downtown, we probably could have walked.

Hallmark Movie Perfect

The drive. The town. The house. All seemingly straight out of an adventure romance movie. The house is tucked into the side of a hill which is itself snuggled up against the quaint town of Idyllwild all surrounded by Red Pine forest. The hosts, Tara and Jim, were wonderful as well. Great communication. We truly felt like their home was ours for a few days.

Baby moon!

Magical few days in the forest. We worked remotely during the day and chilled out on the decks or in the studio as the sun set every afternoon. Plenty of space to sprawl, close to town, and those views. Wow!

Mountain Retreat

My husband and I would highly recommend this beautiful house to anyone who wants to get away from the stress of life, enjoy the beauty of the mountains, and visit a cute little town full of good restaurants and fun shops. The views from the house were incredible and we enjoyed the short walk to the studio that had a deck with another wonderful view of the mountain area. The house was a fun layout and the kitchen was equipped with more than we expected. We loved the Welcome Basket! We will return!

#1 VRBO in Idyllwild

We have stayed in many VRBO etc in Idyllwild over the past 50 years. This is by far the best of the best. The seclusion, quiet, closeness to nature, the wild life, the privacy. your own trails, and sunsets to die for. The host, was just very obliging, helpful, and provided all the needs one would expect, and more. Highly rated and recommended.

A Diamond in the Forest!

The beauty and elegance of Sunset Acres itself is surpassed only by the vistas of forest and mountains outside every window. There are many extra amenities to make one feel right at home, too; moreover, Tara and Jim seem to truly care about their guests. A wide variety of animals also love this house! Be on the lookout. An absolutely delightful stay all around....

Beautiful Mountain Escape

We didn’t want to leave. This is a fantastic house, that’s fun to explore inside and out. The Santa Fe style adobe is a lovely canvas to start with. Wood floors, beams overhead, tall ceilings, I think every room had a deck. Wildlife - deer, squirrels, chipmunks and black lizards - love to visit. We enjoyed all the little touches - binoculars for looking at birds, the Pacific Coast Trail map in the dining area table, the local guidebook. My kid and I loved walking to the Sunset Studio - far enough from the main house to feel like you’re really going somewhere! We’d draw and look at clouds or birds. And then Idyllwild itself. We’d never been! We’re not hardcore hikers or rock climbers, we loved the environment, local restaurants, shops, and the playground, and exploring the trails on the property.

Amazing peaceful getaway

The sunset acres property is a beautiful property on exceptional land. The house was spacious and very clean. It was also well stocked and had a cute welcome basket. The owners put a lot of effort to make you feel like a home away from home. They have many short hikes on the property that make you feel like part of the mountain is all yours to explore. Amazing sunset views. And just an entirely peaceful vibe. Great WiFi in case you have to work. And the owners made sure to make us feel welcome and kept us up to date with important information, a snowstorm approaching. They were always quick to respond to any questions. We look forward to staying again!

Lovely getaway

This lovely home is very clean, well stocked and well maintained. Great location, very quiet, short drive to town and hiking trails. Easy communication with hosts, and we appreciated the welcome basket. As everyone else here mentions the sunsets from the back deck are to die for. One note is that while the house has two big bedrooms and a smaller loft with a foldout, the downstairs bedroom and loft do not have doors -- an inconvenience if your family (like ours) has one member who noisily rises long before the others. Overall, this was a great place to stay.

Family Getaway

Perfect weekend get away with spectacular views, sunsets and weather. The property was comfortable, very clean and had lots to explore. Tara and Jim were very responsive and helpful, we will definitely be back!

Tara is a 3rd generation Idyllwild resident, whose grandparents settled in the village in the 40s. Back in the early days of Idyllwild, they started the first grocery store, a clothing store, owned the hardware store, and the liquor store. Tara’s parents currently own and operate the historic Idyllwild Manor – one of the first vacation rentals in the village.

Jim was born and raised in the Netherlands and after spending some years in New York and Washington D.C., settled in San Diego in '05. Jim started coming up to Idyllwild for mountain biking, and immediately loved the town.

Now the proud owners of Sunset Acres – we are super excited to share this incredible place with you.
We are avid hikers and mountain bikers and can show you or tell you about all the best trails in town.
As locals, we also know all the best restaurants, concerts, shops, etc. Just ask!!

One of a kind custom home designed by architect David Lilieholm. While the house is amazing, the location makes it spectacular. With emphasis on site-specificity in design, the home was developed working with the natural features of the landscape in a way that enhances the opportunity to appreciate both the interior environment and the outside spaces.

Quels sont les atouts de cet hébergement ?

The views. We're not kidding. All guests including some of our local Idyllwild friends are amazed when they see the place. There are views from all sides. Every room has a balcony or deck. Then there's the property with all the private trails- you can easily go for an hour long hike in the back yard. All of this and still only a few minutes drive from the center of Idyllwild.
