We were very disappointed with our stay at Blue Rose cabins Overlook cabin. To begin with, the location was difficult to access. The road was very steep & had lots of loose gravel. Thankfully we had an suv with enough clearance so the bottom of our vehicle didnât get torn up. If we had brought our car it would have been a different story. The bathroom smelled of urine and didnât appear to have been cleaned recently. There was dirty silverware in the drawer, a broken metal chair on the deck which is a hazard if someone got cut on it. Also no wi-fi or cable which we werenât made aware of. Overall, it was a bad experience & would not ever recommend to anyone.
As soon as we entered the room it was stinky and dog hair all over the bed and we had to throw away
We like the location thatâs all there wasnât much of a dish to cook anything or anything to scrub the dish. The stove wasnât working well sink was dirty sorry to say but wasnât really satisfied with the visit
Secluson was great. Cleanliness was great. Hot tub was wonderful! And the wildlife..deer, squirrels cardinal visiting us on the rail made it all worth while! Will be back with extra cabins n friends in tow!
Iâm sorry, but someone needs to maintain the property a little better. The online pictures are old. First off, the road to get to the cabin is crap. Second, the fire pit area is on a hillside, overgrown and there were broken plastic chairs in the weeds. Third, there broken metal chairs on the deck that could hurt someone. Fourth, the hot tub water was a brownish color. Fifth, the box spring for the bed was broken, had to put the mattress on the floor the second night. Was going to report everything, but we were only there two nights and it would take them a whole day to take care of everything. Someone comes to clean, all they have to do is report these issues when they are there.
The cabin was a perfect size and environment for our needs, however, the cabin was filled with bees throughout our stay and the back door to the deck did not lock. We were unable to use the chairs on the deck due to one of the two being broken. We made due with the issues and still enjoyed our time.
Overall, the cabin was a great stay for a short vacation. Unfortunately, the road to the property is in need of repairs. While the property listing requires you to bring a 4x4 in the winter, my sedan model had trouble getting up the hill through deep holes about halfway into the road in July. This made leaving the cabin much more of a hassle than it shouldâve. The front left stovetop did not work, and stove would smoke at high heat. Lack of dishware (no deep pots, not a lot of small plates for the microwave). The grill was not functioning properly. The shower could use a new showerhead. Multiple broken chairs between the fire pit and the balcony. Incredible buildup of rust and whatever on the top of the fridge. The hot tub worked, thankfully. Iâm sure cabins closer to the entrance of the main road would be more ideal, but staying at this cabin made leaving to do other activities a bit hard.
The steep gravel roads were nearly impossible to raverse in a van due to deep ruts and bald areas. The steep hill we needed to crest was smooth mud and absent of rocks, so it took over 5 times backing up our vehicle and going faster to get momentum to complete the hill. When we arrived there was a swarm of over 50 bees going in and out of the wood on the staircase of the enterance door. Inside, it was shockingly different than pictured. The mattress had no mattresspad and no fitted sheet over the gigantic stain covering the whole surface. The bathroom floor was in disrepair with a large piece of the linoleum materials chipped up, missing and loose. There were large spiders inside the shower. We called management and they offered a second cabin for us. Upon enterance into the other cabin it had an intense cigarette smoke odor. No thanks! Unfortunately, management refused full reimbursement. They offered a partial refund and we have yet to see them follow through on that. Very disappointing!!
Could use less chemicals in hot tub burned our eyes only sat in it 5 mins... there is also a bees nest as u walk up into the cabin that my partner is very allergic to but other than that a beautiful stay....oh and need more directions on how to get to your cabin thank god there was a cleaning lady that took us there... and fill in the pot holes
Overall pretty decent, bed was awful we used an inflatable mattress, because the box spring was busted on bed provided. Few updates needed and would have been perfect
I enjoyed the privacy, it felt cozy and warm. However, I would Highly Suggest you replace that mattress, as soon as you are laying in it you are being eaten alive into the middle as well as taking a look at your sliding glass door, that handle not being locked down on the door made it very hard to open.
Great place to stay, quiet, the cabin was cozy, clean and had all that we needed. All I would suggest is replace the mattress in the cabin that we were in. Looking forward in coming again in the warmer months to use the back deck more and enjoy the birds.
There was 2â of ice and my 4x4 got stuck. We didnât have hot water so we had to walk to a hotel for the night. We didnât even get to stay in the cabin. I feel it should have been communicated that the cabin was inaccessible and the hot water didnât work.
Loved the quaint, romantic getaway in the rustic Overlook cabin!
The hot tub was a highlight. The location was quiet and safe. The cabin had all basic necessities covered - perfect for our anniversary trip!
The cabin needed some basic spring cleaning done such as to the stovetop and a/c air filter. It would also be nice to have blackout curtains for sleeping in.
Loved the cabin - many thoughtful touches such as movies for them dvd player, plenty of towels, sufficient kitchenware for basic cooking. Could have had better blackout curtains and there are some minor repair needs done the to cabin (clean air filter to a/c unit). The communication through Vrbo is not great, but calling the cabinâs office works really well. Will definitely come stay here again!
Not much. The bed sank in the middle. The couch had a board coming out. The TV was so dusty I could right my name on it. No tv. And the deck was covered with slime. We stayed 2 days and left. Couldn't stand it anymore. We booked for 4 days but left on sat. My husband even fell on the deck. Safety issues everywhere.
The cabins are located conveniently near Hocking Hills State Park. The drive back to the cabins is rough. Would recommend taking a sturdy vehicle, definately 4-wheel drive required if the weather is wet or snowy.
The cabin itself was clean and stocked with enough items to get by. The hot tub is a nice touch.
The only negative was the mattress on the bed is in desperate need of replacing. Otherwise, we enjoyed our stay.
The owner needs to invest in the amenities. Bed is so uncomfortable that we did not have a good night sleep and is not a standard queen sized bed. My wife mentioned that rest from this bed was a slight step up from tent camping. Coffee pot was so gummed up it wouldnât brew the entire pot and took literally 1 hour to brew. We brought our own coffee as that was not provided. The fridge and oven/stove was rusted with the stove top missing parts. Love seat was very uncomfortable. We were up and down all night from the discomfort then got up at 4:30am eager to get back to our home so we can take a nap.
Lots of potential as the Cabin interior is beautiful. We enjoyed a dip in the hot tub But we wouldnât recommend a stay here unless the owners invested in there amenities.
Centrally and conveniently located in the beautiful Hocking Hills. Just a short scenic drive from the main highway on 25 breathtaking acres, you will have the time of your life.
