Awesome place to stay for families and friends! Plenty of games within the condo and around it with the tether ball and cornhole, plus paddle boards and kayaks to use at will. 3 min walk to Kikiâs was great, or sat on the back porch and listened to the music, either was great! Would def stay again!
It was the little things that were all missing. Not enough TP, soap, dishwasher detergent, zero supplies in kitchen. In addition the TV malfunctioned regularry, nothing I couldn't fix, however it was annoying and showed the owners don't really prep the place for guests. Location was good and the place is new and clean though.
While we definitely enjoyed our stay at this property, there were a couple of things that were somewhat disappointing. Do not plan to do much cooking in this unit, as there is minimal cookware, baking pans,, tableware, and glassware. In fact, the spacious kitchen cabinets are almost all empty. We did laundry nearly daily because of the limited number of bath towels and kitchen linens provided. One concern about the complex... A guest in our party tripped on landscape border rocks and broke her arm on the very first day of our stay. She has a total of 5 weeks in a cast. Not sure what the âfixâ for this might be. Definitely enjoyed the two saltwater pools! Groceries, pharmacy, and some restaurants were a 5 min drive away on Big Pine Key. Kikiâs restaurant (connected to this unit by a walking path) had ok food. This is an end unit, so nice and quiet, which is important to our group.
House was clean and as described. It is right on the water, which is fantastic, and walking distance to one of the more enjoyable restaurants we found in the area. If youâre going to the lower keys, it would really be hard to beat itâs location.
This duplex/townhome is spectacularâŠmuch better than the write up and photos led me to believe. The unit is right on the water with balconies from both the master bedroom and living area that look out over the water and the morning sunrises. There is also a balcony on the back side of the unit. The beds were comfortable and the bedding and towels were fine. There were 6 beach towels included with the unit. As others have said, the kitchen was sparse, but did include wine glasses and champagne flutes, a toaster, a blender, and a Keurig coffee maker (bring your own Keurig cups). No steamer pot for lobsters or shrimp though and no grilling utensils. Other than salt and pepper there were no cooking spices or oils provided. There was some liquid hand soap in each bathroom and plenty of paper towels, toilet paper, and garbage bags. There was also some dishwashing and laundry soap provided (enough to do one load of each per day). There are Adirondack chairs and a cornhole game in front of the unit that are part of the resort amenities. The sofa in the living area is showing its age and should be cleaned or replaced. However, it was very comfortable for 2 couples to sit on together while watching TV.
The resort has two pools (one adult only), a bocce ball court, a putting green, outdoor checkers and chess, a grill, a fish cleaning table, small marina area, kayaks and bikes available to guests, and a gym with decent equipment as well as a sauna. Plus, you can walk on a boardwalk through the mangroves to Kikiâs Restaurant that is next door to the resort. We rented a boat for a day just down the road at Lower Keys Boat Rental. Highly recommend them.
We would definitely stay here again!
The townhouse was ok, but itâs to far from the Duval street and everything! Also the beds were so uncomfortable đŁ The owner of the property should change it for a comfortable beds!! we had to leave the night before because of the uncomfortable beds !! Nobody could sleep well
This is our second time staying in this house and as always we love the location. It is conveniently centralized for fun and fishing. This time around we did find the house needs some tender loving care. The mattress in the master bedroom is hard, uncomfortable and the pillows are flat. The master bathroom has mold on the shower door/floor and the worst are the toilets. We are tall (6â++) the toilets are so low itâs like sitting on the ground. The guest bedroom has water damage on the ceiling and the bed is the same very uncomfortable. The doors all need to be adjusted some donât even lock. As I mentioned the location is perfect but not sure if we will return if not updated.
Great quaint private properties with lots of amenities. Our family truly enjoyed our annual trip here. Great location with access to both the Gulf & Atlantic. Highly recommend
Clean, comfortable and very welcoming. Inside and outside. The view was amazing! We had a wonderful trip. The Tiki bar adjacent to the property was a plus.
This property is incredible in terms of location & view. The unit was clean & very EZ to access. Any issues were quickly addressed by the caretaker. Only reason not to give it 5 stars is because the unit was very sparsely equipped...all essentials were there, but no 'extras' in terms of cooking necessities, spices, cleaning supplies, etc. Perhaps I should not expect it, but all previous VRBO rentals did provide. It didn't change my view on the rental...it was beautiful, just good to know for planning purposes.
We really enjoyed our 3 days at Little Torch Cottages! Great location, having never visited the Keys before. We arrived prior to a wedding we were attending in Key Largo. It is a compact little area with just enough space to feel comfortable but not crowded. The property had a cute beach area overlooking the water...beautiful sunrises while enjoying coffee on the balcony. They have nice gathering areas for families/friends to enjoy, like a fire pit/Adirondack chairs, some beach games (corn hole, giant chess/checkers) an illuminated "boardwalk" to observe the nighttime marine life around the docks. It's dog friendly, and the locals all seemed soooo friendly. The manager, Bill, was extremely welcoming, helpful and allowed us to use bikes, beach chairs, life jackets, to make our stay so easy. It's like being among friends. Kiki's Tiki bar/restaurant just 100yds away, is a PERFECT hangout spot for delicious food, great cocktails, live music and don't miss the fun on the little beach where Al and his 3 Border Collies (and a few others and dogs) entertained us chasing frisbees and giving us our much needed "dog fix". Also, look for "Sandy" and his dog "Spooky" who ended up joining us for dinner. We enjoyed our visit with them!! This place is easy to just kick back and feel like you belong. Great for adults, kids and in-betweens. Bring your dog and life is complete! Close to Bahia Honda State park (small but natural beach areas, good for a day of sun) Biked to the end of Big Torch Key (safe biking once you navigate off of Hwy 1 !! Watch out for the drivers. Walkable areas/neighborhoods close by. 30 min away from Key West. Don't try to find the Coupon Bight aquatic preserve off of Big Pine Key...it's destroyed from the hurricanes and doesn't look like the "beach" is being restored anytime soon.
Bright, clean, with beautiful water view. 3 balconies, 2 of them with views of the bay and you can watch a sunrise from there. Lots to do at the property as well as great location for trips up and down the Keyes. Thanks to Bill for excellent customer service and great tips about restaurants. Kiki restaurant a short walk away, with live music in the evening. The property is close to the main road but we did not find that to be a problem. We traveled with 2 teenagers and they enjoyed many activities on site. Overall a great stay.
Everything you need for a relaxing getaway. Waterfront view, heated pool, short walk to Kiki's Sandbar with live music daily, and a great location to explore the Southern Keys.
**FYI - pack K cups for coffee :)
My family stayed for a short week between Christmas and New Years. We enjoyed the location as our headquarters while exploring the lower keys and key west. It was a great location for a day trip to key west along with exploring locally. Great food close by with Kikis next door. Highly recommended!
Great location, clean property, staff was great-- especially Bill who came over to greet us and tell us about the property. He even helped me get my boat back on my trailer. Bonus is Kiki's Sandbar right next door.
We go to the keys to do things on the Water but wish we had more time to enjoy the Property. Good location, everything you need in Big pine key. Didnât bring my own boat wasnât sure it would fit in their docking area but looks like I could have tied up right behind the unit.
