The property and unit is beautiful all that is described. The only issue we had was getting the check in details from the owner. Typically when we rent through VRBO we are sent check in details 3-4 days from check in and we hadn't. We did text, call and even get VRBO involved to try to get this information and didn't receive a reply until the day before check in. Other than that, be patient with the owner as the property is worth it!
Really enjoyed the trip. It was our first time to the K and B and it lived up to our expectations. Only suggestion would be to upgrade the TV's in the rooms so guests can enjoy a night in.
We really enjoyed our stay. Condo was spacious and clean. Owner was quick to respond to our inquiries. Quiet unit and grounds and pool area well kept. Only negatives were lack of storage for a long term stay (ie: no dresser/bureau) and size of televisions. Also found that the dryer in unit took an inordinate length of time to dry clothes.
The apartment/condo was spacious and adequate for our visit, everything was clean. Bathroom tiles are slippery just have to be careful when they get wet. Furniture is dated and some items need to be repaired or replaced.
Our stay was February 2025. 1. Mr. Weiss did not pay the electric bill for our unit, and the electricity was shut off for nonpayment for most of a day. He did not respond to our complaint promptly. The description in the listing says we can have access to the fitness center for a ânominal fee,â but we were not allowed access for any price because you must rent for six months or longer to gain access. 3. The buildingâs outdoor pool was heated, but only to a temperature of 72 degrees. 4. The kitchen lacked adequate plates and utensils, so we bought a number of utensils and left them for the next tenants. 5. The kitchen had roaches. Three were visible at one time. 6. A kitchen outlet was non-functional. 7. A number of lights did not work. 8. The bathroom exhaust vent screeched and banged intermittently throughout the day and night. 9. A faucet leaked continuously. 10. The TV was the size of a computer monitor. 11. The unit needed a deep cleaning. We reported these concerns to Mr. Weiss, who did not respond. We subsequently reported to VRBO through their official complaint procedure but one month later they have not taken action.
Overall a great place to stay, but the cleaning staff needs supervision. The floors were very dirty as I found out the first time I walked barefoot across the floor. With the floor this dirty it cast doubt about how well the rest of the place was cleaned.
Very clean and comfortable, had everything we needed...I enjoyed the pool and the whirlpool...Matt was super in asking my question in a timely manner....We just wish it was closer to St. Augustine or the beaches...
Great location, great accommodations (except for TV)
I know the area having lived in the King and Bear Community. The Laterra units are great, this one in good condition. "Check-in" instructions are accurate and easy. My only issue is tiny, cheap TVs with no instructions and no controls except for streaming services and you need to use your own subscriptions. very inconvenient. I wanted to watch some late football, impossible. I still provided an excellent rating.

The complex is lovely and beautifully kept, our apartment was quiet and everybody was really friendly.
Matt Weiss, the owner, was really helpful and was always there when we had to ask things.
Best breakfast in St Augustine in the golf clubhouse!
Our only comment would be that the televisions were old, but we were there for a 2 month stay, it probably wouldnât affect anyone who was there for a short stay.
