Walkers can climb Loughrigg Fell from Ambleside with its magnificent panoramic views over the lakes. Rydal Water and Coniston are 3 and 7 miles away respectively and well worth a visit. Alternatively, the National Trust Wray Castle is 2.5 miles away and Beatrix Potter’s former home, Hill Top, is 6 miles away.
