We enjoyed our holiday but there were some issues. Close to the villa on the track there is a series of ramshackle buildings housing chickens and dogs. The dogs are not well cared for and attended to by the their owner (who is the villa manager) once per day. The dogs barked a lot, some escaped into the villa area on a couple of occasions. Clearly this has happened before our visit as dog biscuits were in the kitchen cupboard.
Whilst the villa is in a lovely location with great views and is maintained, it it not 'cared for'. For example, the wooden railings around the edge of the terrace are rotten, very unstable and could easily be pushed over to a drop beyond (not great for children). Any repairs which have been completed, have been done badly. Every room in the villa needs painting, cobwebs in all corners. Hole in the wall where the satellite TV plug should have been (satellite TV noted in the villa details).
Such a shame, as this villa has great potential if only the owner cared enough to maintain it at a level the location deserves.
Overall fantastic, although a couple of issues which should perhaps be highlighted. We did not get off to a great start, although day 2 onwards were perfect, as the management were responsive to our issues. This means we can recommend the property and would book again ourselves.
Firstly flights from the UK frequently arrive too late in the evening to get something to eat or buy groceries. Previous guests had commented about a welcome pack so we weren't overly concerned. However there wasn't one so unfortunately we didn't get anything to eat or drink until late the next morning.
The property is advertised as unsuitable for pets, which as my wife has a serious allergic reaction to dogs and cats we were happy with. Unfortunately there were two resident dogs in the yard who wouldn't leave us alone and we couldn't open doors to air the property on arrival without them getting in.
On leaving the property the first morning my wife rested her hand on the stone balustrade to steady herself and it clearly wasn't attached properly as it fell over causing her to twist and exacerbating an old injury.
We phoned the local contact to report and book additional cost air conditioning due to not being able to leave doors open.
He arrived promptly with the remote for the ac ,assured us he would solve the balustrade issue and removed the dogs (i think they were his and kept with others nearby).
Once we were fed watered and able to enjoy the property the rest of the week went really well.
Wir hatten eine schöne, ruhige Woche in Steni und empfehlen das Haus allen, die abseits vom Pauschaltourismus die Ruhe und Schönheit der Insel genieĂen möchten.
Wir kommen gerne wieder!

Fantastic villa. We had a great time and enjoyed the panoramic view which cant be depicted in pictures, even if one tried...I have stayed in several villas in the past - each of them were great - but the 360 degree panoramic view in Villa Rallo surpassed them all. Very secluded, which was what we wanted and I definitely hope to be back. The owner was extremely nice and had bought cereal, milk, pretzels, fruit + more for when we arrived. He even brought us whiskey and other stuff during our stay. I will have very fond memories of Villa Rallo.
