We rented out the entire apartment. The space is grand and full of charm and beautiful antiques. The roof terrace is the real winner, stunning views all to yourself. Check in was very easy and communication seamless. The only note I would give is that the apartment could use some updating in terms of modern comforts. There is no proper air conditioning except for in one bedroom and some rooms had standing air conditioning units which were not that effective, and other rooms only had fans. Additionally, some of the kitchen facilities could use updating as well such as coffee makers, stove and iron/steamer wasnât working, etc. If it wasnât 35° in Tuscany during our stay, this would have all been fine, but I suggest to the owner to make some small improvements for modern comfort. Otherwise, great stay!
Great view Great location
Lots of steps. Poor parking
Only one bedroom has AC. Two have portable units that are really humidifiers and two others have only fans. There is no AC in the common areas of the unit. The rental was largely unusable due to it being a constant 29 degrees Celsius. 84 degrees Fahrenheit. When we discussed with the owner they simply stated we are not from Italy and this is normal. The bathrooms all had black mold in the showers. I complained to the owner they sent someone to clean but they could not get rid of the mold. The unit is in disrepair and they hide behind the fact itâs a period residence and this is how it should look. The rooftop patio showed a covered area in the listing and loungers. There was one lounger and some chairs and there was no covered area. The gazebo cover was shredded. We could not use the rooftop as we expected. We were sharing the unit with another family that travelled with us and they left and rented something else as only one bedroom had AC and due to the cleanliness of the bathrooms and showers. My daughters crammed into the only bedroom with AC with us. We too would have left but there was not many options to move to so we toughed it out. The kitchen and fridge was very dirty. Our plans to use the kitchen and dining areas was not realized due to no AC and the uncleanliness. The owners made excuses and blamed us for not understanding. Iâve been travelling for 30 years. I think I know how things should work.
If you are coming with a group this is an excellent place in an excellent location. Now before I finish this review, I have to let you know that this villa is located in the ZLT. If you are not familiar with the Italian ZTLs, research it before you go. With that said, you will have to park the car in the P6 lot and walk to the building. Knowing this will help with luggage and shoe selection. Its TOTALLY worth if but it demands planning in advance. The parking is about 100 yards and a portion of it is up a decent grade hill. The Villa does not have a lift so you will be carrying your luggage up 4 flights. Parking is 10 euros a day that you pay to the host who will provide you a parking pass.
The Villa is centrally located and fantastic. Itâs a historic building so know ahead. The terrace at the top is worth it You will not regret it. You will have an amazing review of the town and the landscape. We spent most of our time up on the terrace just enjoying the view. The rooms are large and a kitchen and laundry room is available so you can bring less clothes so that you have more room to buy stuff. The furniture is dated but it goes well with the villa.
A local farm stand is located at the bottom on the hill. Fresh fruits/veggies, great cheese/meats, and pasta/sauces are available for you to use that kitchen.
Communication with the host is through whatsapp. You will not get a response through the VRBO messaging tool. They are very responsive and helpful.
