We stayed a week in Barcelona in the apartment Barri Gotic in the old part of Barcelona. This is a fantastic apartment and a great location. The apartment was exactly as described, very clean and the high ceilings made the apartment very spacious.
Bed was very comfortable and the kitchen was fully equipped. Note that this apartment is on a busy pedestrian street, but with windows closed, it is OK. The only night it was really loud was a Saturday as there was a football game and people were celebrating to all hours of the night.
This wonderful 1 bedroom apartment on Calle Petritxol was one block from La Rambla, 2-3 blocks to Plaça Catalunya to get a taxi or the hop on hop off bus. Grocery store and tons of great restaurants and bars were close by. Boqueria de Mercado market was only a block away.
There are quite a few Ola Living apartments in this building. Our friends stayed in the Sagrada Familia apartment, same building and same floor so it was convenient to travel back and forth between our apartments. The Sagrada Familia apartment had an outdoor patio which was a treat. Also on the same floor was the Petritxol La Boqueria. The building has an elevator and stairs are also available.
Ola Living was very helpful and we highly recommend them and this apartment.
The check in email didn't come until later in the day when I was standing outside. I checked in online and waited and waited and didn't get the code until after I was checking in to another hotel. 2 hours later. Sorry.
The apartment itself is very nice and location was good. Check in was awful- took 2 hours- had to take a couple taxis to get a physical card since the key situation requires cellular and I travel internationally with an ESIM. The washer/dryer is a single and does not dry clothes. Noise is extremely loud. Bring earplugs to sleep mandatory. And- for me I had to request extra toilet paper and garbage bags for the 4 days I stayed there with kids. You canât just provide 1 of each and get 5 stars. I think apartment better suited due to check in for locals and younger people- not great for family with kids.
My husband and i visited Barcelona with our college-aged daughter. This was our first trip. The apartment far exceeded our expectations. It was clean, bright, modern, and beautifully decorated. -- including murals on the ceilings. As in any major city there is street noise, but we found that the heavy shutters inside the windows helped with that tremendously. It was not an issue for us. I highly recommend this apartment and if we return to Barcelona we will book it again.
This is a beautiful, well maintained and well stocked apartment. Very convenient area.
It is very noisy at night, because of its location but that would not prevent us staying there again.
The only difficulty we had being two 80 year olds, not very up-to-date with using iphone for payment processing and entry into the apartment, it was necessary for us to go to the Ola Living Office to pick up physical keys. It would have been better if we had done that initially. However that was our problem.
It would have been helpful to have had some literature in the apartment letting us know where the nearest supermarket was and information about the neighbourhood. Just a suggestion.
All in all, a wonderful apartment.
Very secure entry - expands out into a spacious and well appointed apartment. High ceilings with beautiful Spanish reliefs - huge fully functional kitchen area with lots of storage and prep area. Bedroom very spacious and bathroom decorated in modern storage layout. Located in Gotic area with loads of stunning narrow streets with local artisan stores, markets and tapas. Very close to La Rambla and its market, the shoreline and more tapas. Highly, highly recommended! 10 out of 10!
Best area to stay to visit Barcelona and the apartment was flawless. Only a 10 minute walk down to the waterfront and 10-15 walk to almost all of the main attractions in Barcelona. The apartment was fabulous and the communication with Ola Living was terrific.
Beautiful apartment for a couple at the best location and at a price of sleeping well at night.
The majority of Barri Gothic 1's (primary floor, press P in the elevators) windows face the Carrer De La Portaferrissa which is a narrow street with perpetual pedestrian and vehicular traffic. This is an active street, day and night. It never really stops but slows down some late at night. Trash pickup is at 11pm and after that the street washers come. Closing the windows and the shutters muffles the noise a bit, but not much and one can literally follow a conversation that is happening at the street level. So, sleeping is tough, even with ear plugs.
On the very plus side, you step out of the apartment, and you are in old town and that is fabulous and amazing! You are 5 minutes away from the market, and withinwalking distance to almost everywhere.
The apartment was spotless and as depicted in the photos. Nicely painted ceiling and tastefully done.
It is a great size for a couple, maybe with a child, but the bathroom can only be reached through the master bedroom. Big and well-equipped kitchen, some simple instructions for using the W/D single unit and microwave/oven for those who are not familiar with the European models would be helpful.
The Ola Living team was very responsive and helpful throughout and during the lengthy planning process.
We opted to get physical key cards from the office (the weekend office is about 20 minutes away by taxi), rather than rely on the app for entrance.
We might ask for a higher-level apartment facing a quieter direction, if available
The apartment is two blocks away from Las Ramblas perfect for exploring the city. You may grab a bite at La Bouqueria and sample all of the local snacks. The apartment is lovely and well maintained with lots of storage space. The decor is modern with traditional tile and ceiling accents. Also Ola Living checked in with us within 24 hours to see if we needed restaurant/tour recommendations or additional towels. Housekeeping is available in the morning if you need to make a request. As you are in the heart of the city, the noise level is to be expected. However, there were no unpleasant odors as the garbage is collected in the evenings, very efficiently. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
The apartment is located in the heart of the Gothic Quarter which is very convenient. It is very noisy at night with garbage collection and people in the streets. Bring earplugs.
The apartment was very clean and had all the necessary items. We did not get the unit that is pictured in the listing. There are multiple units. Ours was very lovely, but not the one pictured.
The place was nice but some things need attention.
The apartment was nice and in a great location however some things were broken ( toilet seat, towel rack ) but we made it work. Previous guests said it would be noisy and it was. The large windows could be a better quality for sealing out street odors and noise. Bring earplugs.
