Short Stay

Treacherous walkways with many changes in elevation both inside the house and outside. Very dusty and the ordor became overwhelming. Poor outdoor lighting added to the treacherous nature of the walkways. Photos on the website have been enhanced far beyond what the inside of the house really looks like. TV service only Raku. Could never find WiFi service. Our allergies kicked in and we left the first night!

The Perfect Getaway

We definitely enjoyed our stay at Libbies Lookout. We did much more relaxing at the house than we had planned, because it was so cozy and inviting. There was a lot of hard work and love put into all the details inside and out. The courtyard was wonderful with all the decor and mosaic flooring. Every time we walked outside something new would catch our eye.

Nice eclectic place, should disclose bathroom beforehand

The property had great views and outdoor sitti g areas. The inside was fine. You stay in one of what seemed like five buildings on the property. The only negatives were all bathroom paper had to go into a trash can, which you are responsible to empty later, and the owner of the property stayed on the location. Neither were big problems, they just should have been disclosed beforehand.

The inside of this home has everything you could need, is very comfortable, and charmingly appointed. I would stay here again if traveling to the area.

Was a very neat place to stay and interesting. Tony was a very good host and great to talk with. Very interesting setup. It alone was worth the stay and could keep you busy the whole time you are there. If in area again, would gladly stay again. Thanks Tony for everything

Felt like home

We live an hour from Kerrville and spent 3 nights at Tony’s to be closer to Kerrville for a surgery and post op visit. The home is very comfy and was a great place to be after surgery. The patio was amazing and our dog loved the property. Whatever reason brings you to Kerrville, we highly recommend!

The great escape

Absolutely loved the property. The work Tony put in on the patio and the surroundings is beautiful. If you want to escape the concrete jungle and the stresses of life this is a great place to relax. We did the "Day in the park" and really enjoyed the outing on the Guadalupe River. Best of all it was pet friendly and his entire yard was fenced in so I could let my dog run loose and we both loved that. I definitely recommend staying here if like being away from it all. Thanks for your hospitality Tony.

BEAUTIFUL VIEW

At first glance the place looked like a large house. Once we saw the exact address we realized it was a home attached to another home. We fell in love with it from the beginning. It is perfect size for just us two. The best part was the back porch and deck. The view was so beautiful. We had to call Tony who lives next door to help us with the TV, lol we couldn't figure it out...I told him i really loved the backsplash in the kitchen. He told us how the place came about and he did all the work himself. Truly a labor of love. We will definitely go back. Edward & Gina ...... thumbs up!!!

Peaceful escape from the city

This place is AMAZING! From the thought out details of the home to the host himself. My husband and I enjoyed this cozy home and we loved looking at all the ART that went into it. Tony did such a beautiful job with this place. The antiques decorating the house inside and out, the outdoor fireplace and it’s beautiful surroundings, the outdoor marble artwork on the ground, and the VIEW!!! On the top deck! Omg! We sat outside and drank our coffee in the morning watching the most calming view. The house had everything we needed and we even stayed in one night to just watch Movies and relax. We did a small hike, ate, and shopped around Kerrville. We also visited Comfort, TX and Fredericksburg which are not too far and enjoyed the brewery, antique shopping, and desserts in Comfort,TX and drove up to Fredericksburg one night for dinner and again on our way back home to see all the Christmas on Main Street and enjoy the shops and drinks. We almost made our way to Borne to see Christmas there too but we decided to save that for our next stay! Do not hesitate with this one. My husband I enjoyed it so much!

Eclectic Piece of Paradise!

Libby's Lookout is a hidden gem! The host Tony has created a wonderfully peaceful retreat with a magical back yard and the lookout deck has incredible views. The inside space was very clean and comfortable with many extra personal touches. We had the best experience and only wish it could have been longer than the three days. Tony was the best! We will definitely stay here again!

Interesting, Eclectic, get-a-way spot!

I was in town for a triathlon which i signed up for two weeks prior to race day. Of course, all the hotels in town were booked... LUCKILY! This VRBO that was a short drive from the race location and it was more than perfect for my needs. My host greeted me upon arrival which was a first for me at a VRBO. He was very friendly and welcoming. The covered parking was a plus as well. The first thing i noticed inside was how clean it was. The second thing i noticed was how eclectic and well put together everything was. This being designated "Libby's Lookout", i enjoyed looking at the pictures of his beautiful daughter, Libby, at various stages of her life. A small bouquet of fresh flowers was sitting on the big dresser in the bedroom. The decor was evenly masculine and feminine, with splashes of modern interwoven with multi decade to late 1800 apothecary jars. The bed and bedding was so comfortable with big euro pillows i used in the morning and evening to prop myself up to do my journaling and reading. In the bedroom, i liked that a motion sensor turned on a small light when i got up in the middle of the night. The pocket doors that separated the bedroom from the kitchen were perfect for shutting in the cold at night to help me sleep better. The kitchen was well equipped with brand new utensils, new dishes, and glassware. A Keurig coffee maker with an assortment of k-cups, fresh fruit and a toaster sat on a nearby bureau. The kitchen drawers appeared to have everything that would be needed for meal prep (can opener, bottle opener...). I generally bring most of my food with me so i did not do any meal prep. Oven, stove and refrigerator stocked with 5 bottles of water. a two seater breakfast table sat against one wall in the kitchen and was perfect for what i needed. There were heaters in the kitchen and bathroom for winter months. The laundry room was adjacent to the kitchen and i was so glad to have access to these after the two race days and not have to walk up and down flights of stairs at a hotel to do laundry. (Bring your own detergent). The bathroom was a good size and i fell in love with the sink. It had a wide enough basin such that most of the water stays IN the sink! The shower had a sort of semi cover/lid on top, which, kept the warmth in and the cold out. Mirrors and clocks were perfectly placed. There was a large sitting room off the kitchen that had a large leather recliner and sofa. This room, too, with it's shadow boxes that hinted of the ol' days eclectic in its mix with what i would call modern/abstract art and a good sized white "fur" rug. The back yard patio area was amazing. decorative granite walkways mixed with beautiful stone pathways, again, eclectically decorated with unusual and fun pieces of interest like A small decorative mirror hanging from an adobe-ish shelf and a sculpture that reminded me of the knight (horse) in a chess set majestically sitting on top of a piece of granite that sat atop of a tree root table base. So many things to see! A lovely grill area with tree covered seating and a fire pit surrounded by more decorative granite walkways and patios. My stay here was quiet and undisturbed -- just what i needed to prep for the t two days of racing. It was so comfy and cold, i was able to get the longest nights sleep i can remember in years after that second race. It was relaxing and welcoming when the racing was complete. I wish my stay had been one more day just to spend some time in this very soothing, relaxing back yard area. The owner has put a lot of loving and creative work into this VRBO to make it a home away from home!

Met my expectations

I was amazed. The pictures on line do not do the owner of this property justice. That said, the location, upon my arrival, was very questionable. My impression on arrival was "low rent". My impression on departure was "i will be back!" Host was congenial, helpful, supportive and invisible until needed. highly recommend with reservation because i want to rent this VRBO next year for this triathon race!
