We celebrated a bachelorette and it was absolutely amazing. The wine is also delicious. We took the meditarrean supper and charcuterie board with our stay, which was the best! This place is a hidden gen. Would definately recommend.
I stayed at the nest for a weekend away with friends. We had a really great weekend and loved our stay. The Nest is very nicely renovated and worked perfectly for a large group! The host and on site contacts were very helpful and welcoming while we were there. I would definitely stay here again.
Stayed at the Nest for my bachlorette weekend with 8 friends and 3 babies under 1. The Nest was perfect and comfortable and the bar and wine area downstairs was perfect. The team working at 33 vines made us feel so welcome and obviously cared very much for their property and business. We had a wine tasting, charcuterie board and a buffet. The house was clean, stocked and had loads of extras we didnt even think of. I would absolutely recommend this place!
The space was sufficient for the 10 of us that stayed there. The pull out sofas were typical in that they werenât really comfortable but the 5 beds were good. We didnât partake in the food or wine offerings as we preferred to cook ourselves but it was nice to have the option. Curtis, the manager, was friendly and available all the time. The one bathroom we used in the upper barn which was outside of The Nest proper was not as clean, but everything in The Nest itself was clean. We enjoyed ourselves and made some good memories!
The site is charming, and the main building has a great potential with its renovated barn.
We were welcome by someone that nicely showed us around.
EVERYTHING was dirty; the dishes, the furniture, the cupboards, the restrooms...There was no more dishsoap or handsoap in the kitchen, and no cloth nor dishtowels. When we went around to ask for those essentials, no one was on site.
All the drawers were filled with used tootbrushes, half-empty toothpaste tubes, and all sorts of things that should be thrown out.
This beautiful appartment would be a gem after a major scrubbing job.
Furthermore, there is only one shower for an appartment that can host 12 people. Clearly not a great ratio.
We were greeted at the door by a very drunk Curtis (as in staggering drunk) who proceeded to give us grief about where we had parked and what time we had arrived as he was expecting us earlier. We advised that we canât see a thing as far as parking goes â it truly was pitch black and that we all had to work that day before we could take off to get there.
The property itself is absolutely disgusting. It is filthy, infested with flies and cockroaches which the owner is trying to claim are wood beetles, and there is absolutely no question the property is infested with cockroaches. The sheets were filthy, and had obviously not been washed with stains and flies inside the sheets, around the room and to complete the whole look, dead flies littering the floors.
After swatting approximately 30 â 50 flies in the main living room which was gross enough, we then noticed the cockroaches, at which point we fled. VRBO consider this a minor issue and not worth reimbursement and the owner will not take any responsibility so we are now out close to $2,250 for the rental, our weekend completely ruined and some of us having spent almost 5 hours just to get there. Our collective recommendation is DO NOT USE VRBO and definitely NEVER BOOK THIS PROPERTY. I have never seen anything quite as disgusting as this in my life.
To the owner and to VRBO, we are absolutely horrified that you would allow this property to be rented from your site and disgusted that you consider cockroaches acceptable.
A nice place to sleep, but donât look too hardâŠ
The location of the Nest was really nice - right in Prince Edward County. Lots of room in the stay - 5 double/queen sized beds and lots of couch space to host larger groups.
The unit itself was really dirty as other reviews have mentioned. A family definitely lives here full time while not rented out, and the drawers and fridge and in the unit are dirty and loaded with half-used items.. I donât think any deep cleans or even surface level cleaning happens between renters coming in.
The host was kind enough and was able to answer most questions - in their intro message they mentioned a party bus rental and winery tour support but when we tried to contact them to inquire they didnât answer⊠not entirely sure why they had offered services if they had no intention to follow through or actually capitalize on those services. The host also did not meet or greet us, and we never saw him on our property.
Like other reviews, there was a lack of both hand and dish soap - we asked our host for more and he attempted to direct us where we could find it on the property but none was available (just more empty and dusty bottles).
We were also worried about using the oven as the door did not properly close, and there is no oven ventilation in the kitchen which may be against fire codeâŠ
The building itself also had cockroaches and cat urine throughoutâŠ
This unit has so much potential, but poor housekeeping and communication with guests will not help encourage anyone to rebook.
Country wedding nearby. Lots of room here for three generations, lots of parking.
We would have booked for an extra night before, but it showed no availability. Great place. Could use some hooks or closet space. No where to hang my suit when I was getting ready.
Jason's winery property was a great experience for us, a large group with several young children. Many items to entertain the kids, including a playground in the backyard and many toys to discover. We were a bit apprehensive about sharing one bathroom with so many people, but it wasn't a problem. Our property host, Curtis, was very accomodating and lives in a caboose next to the house. It was nice having him there to answer any questions, and he gave us space to enjoy the property at our leisure.
We had a great time staying at the Nest.
Tons of space to entertain. Comfortable sleeping arrangements. Plenty of amenities in and around the location including some great 33 Vines wine. Jason was quick to respond to questions and requests and very accommodating of all of our needs. Curtis, on site, was a great and informative host. My guests were even given permission to jam on the drum and guitar within the Barrel room that made the night extra special.
Highly recommend and we will return!
The barn itself is beautiful but the loft they rent for overnight stay is so dirty itâs hard to describe. Dirty kitchen, dirty bathroom, no fresh toiletries. Dirty sheets!!! The owner is very rude and disrespectful. I was told Iâm complaining about crumbs in the bed and some dust and a dirty soap bar and that I am picky! I was trying to have a polite conversation with the owner and he was so aggressive it was impossible to deal with him. He told me to get out! I will never go back and never suggest this place to anyone.
