The primary attraction in booking the Brook ;was the number of beds and they were great. Everyone got a good sleep. Also fantastic was the room for visiting... plenty of space - indoor and out, including a dining table on the back deck, lawn space for games, and chairs at the front porch for a quieter space to converse.
Our group was 4 couples. The property has four bedrooms on the second floor. All have large beds so everyone had an equally comfortable stay. The home had everything you would need to move in easily for a couple of days. The host was easy to connect with and very helpful.
This was a perfect location with enough room for everyone to have their own rooms. Our stay was a mini reunion of sorts so we ended up never leaving the property.
The Brook was a perfect location for our family to come together for the long weekend! The space was open concept allowing everyone to feel connected, and big enough for us to feel that we had enough space. We chose the house specifically because it had 3 full sofas and king sized beds in each of the 4 bedrooms, which were super comfortable.
Ryan was available by text with very quick replies...and Taylor came right over when we wanted an assist on getting the hot tub going.
We loved our weekend and are already looking at the calendar to choose a summer date to experience The Brook in warm weather.
Upon arriving, we had trouble with the door code and upon departure we were unable to lock the door. We felt that there should be some windo no w coverings. The fridge freezer door was broken. The glass on the stove was broken and pushed in when using. The kettle needs replacing and there wasnât a coffee pot. There wasnât any saranwrap or tinfoil, which is pretty much essential. The outside was not very inviting as the furniture was mossy looking. The bathrooms and bedrooms were very nice and the beds were very comfortable. The only thing about the bedrooms was that there were two bedrooms we felt could use mirrors.
Stayed here for 2 nights for a 15 year reunion with 7 friends in late June. The inside of the cottage was rustic but with modern touches. It was very clean, beds were super comfortable, bathrooms and kitchen were updated and clean. There was ample space for us to sit in the living room. Overall we had a really lovely stay.
Sadly the outdoors were not quite up to snuff. The hot tub that was advertised was not in service (and we were not advised of this in advance). Not sure if it just needed to be cleaned but the septic tank is situated right beside the outside deck and the smell of feces was so strong that we were unable to sit outside and use the patio which was unfortunate. The cottage is essentially right off of a main road so you can't do much walking around there but we were only about a 7-10 min drive from Picton.
Needless to say, we spent most of the days out and about in PEC and then evenings/nights in the cottage which was nice.
Ryan and Taylor's property felt just like home. Plenty of room for our five adults and two toddlers. The house felt private and off-the-beaten-path, but also central to everything we wanted to see and do. No more than a 20 minute drive to any destination. The hosts were easily reachable whenever we had any questions, and were very hospitable at their Wild Lot Distillery just up the road. We thoroughly enjoyed the drink offerings and fun, relaxing atmosphere at the farm distillery. We didn't use the sauna or hot tub, but imagine they'd be lovely features in cooler weather. The yard and deck space were great for lounging and the kids playing. Thanks for a wonderful stay and introduction to The County!
Great spot for our book clubs weekend away- excellent instructions for the wood heated hot tub , close to three dog winery where we had a great day hiking and sipping wine around the fire, and the beds are super comfy!
