The Lake Michigan shore is our happy place and our little family has been renting cottages/houses up and down the lakeshore from Glenn Arbor to Porter County and this was one of our nicest stays so far. The house is better than promised. Itâs spacious and airy. The windows along the back of the house made you feel like you were in a magical forest. All equipment and appliances worked although not having regular cable meant doing some mental acrobats remembering passwords and such. We almost missed an important football game on Saturday (after the final Score, we wished we had). The only criticism we had is that there is not a single extra blanket in the house. We scoured and had to end up cuddling on the couch with beach towels.
Check-in was totally fine. I called to let them know our checkout would be about 30 minutes delayed and they were fine with it. One upstairs room, one downstairs room, and a very spacious living room area that was one big great room.Kitchen was good and clean. Wifi was great upstairs, but just be aware that it is very spotty in the downstairs area. The driveway is fine. If you have a park pass, you can park in the nearby parking, otherwise, it's about a 10 minute walk. Myself, my wife, and my six and three year old did it multiple times. There are a lot of harmless bugs since you're in forest. Completely fine unless you have a phobia. My kids named the daddy long-legs spiders "Climbey" and "Jumpy". Zero bugs inside the house. It was kind of immaculate. I'm impressed it was as clean as it was. They give you beach towels and chairs.Area was quiet with tons of privacy. We didn't use any of the deck furniture or grills.
Best beds I have ever slept in! So comfy. Private woded backyard with huge deck! Sooo close to Porter beach which is awesome because the parking lot gets full early. Really no complaints! Would definitely go back.
House interior is nice but not comfortable. Low back chairs and sofa not great for lounging. Need better instructions for TV and music. Exterior looked neglected with overgrown landscape and poison ivy trailing onto walkways. Railroad tie steps sinking and rotting. Lower level bed and bath extremely dark.
We stayed here for a weekâs getaway to the beach. The proximity to the beach is great because youâre able to walk there if the parking gets full. We utilized the nice Weber grill as well!
Peaceful and quiet. Yard is overgrown but that adds to its charm. Missing a few amenities listed online and in guests guide book. If I was in the area I would check its availability.
Have stayed at this property several years ago. Layout of floor plan great, lovely views & access to private beach as promised.
Property is showing noticeable lack of upkeep. Many screens in doors are loose or have holes, ant issues, appliances hit or miss.
Still a beautiful rental, a little TLC would make it a five star again!
We celebrated motherâs day at this beautiful home, nestled in the Indiana Dunes. I got to host my local area family in this beautiful home. It was perfect for entertaining, relaxing and enjoying the beautiful lake Michigan scenery.
The location is perfect for visiting the Indiana Dunes State & National Park and Lake Michigan. Very quiet and private. Had all the amenities we needed. Would recommend.
My girlfriend and our friends stayed here for the weekend and the layout was ideal for two couples. The split bedrooms allowed for the perfect amount of privacy.
We enjoyed seeing the area. The house was clean and had everything we needed but for a place with so many windows and skylights it was incredibly dark. We called it the cave. The lighting was so bad. But we walked to the beach and especially enjoyed the Pavillion at the beach. Would have been helpful to understand the parking situation at the beach (can a short term pass be obtained by guests through the city?), but we made it work. We enjoyed our visit.
Very private, well managed property. 2nd visit. Close to beach, hikes, bike trails. Short drives to grocery stores and restaurants. Great kitchen. Would stay again.
Loved the house and furnishings. Great kitchen. A few small things, ice maker didnât work, TV wasnât connected to network, but fixed it next day. Also, the notebook with information about the property didnât reflect the local area, restaurants listed were 30,minutes away. We
The location was perfect. You could easily walk to the beach. I feel like the house could have been slightly cleaner but it was not bad. I did make a call to rental company and they never returned the phone call. All in all it was still a good experience.
Beautiful view, quiet property, close to the dunes. Could use some touchup.
Loved the location. Quiet. Felt the cleanliness of the property could be better. Master bed was sandy. Towels were stained. Outside area didn't look it had been cleaned in some time. Windows dirty. Garbage cans outside hadn't been emptied in some time. Also that front step is dangerous. My husband fell not thinking that the first step is so awkward. I would be concerned for elderly staying at this location. I would suggest having shampoo/conditioner and other such amenities available to quests. Perhaps a welcome basket.
This is a cute house. Great location within walking distance to two beaches. On quiet days, you can hear the waves crashing in Lake Michigan. Plenty of room to spread out and relax. Large deck spanning the back of the house. Easy access off the road.
A very nice property/location. Could have used more basic supplies such as bath and kitchen towels. We contacted management about oven not working, toilet that didn't flush properly and missing supplies. They responded someone would be by "shortly." 4 hours later person arrived, clearly hadn't been given a copy of our email/full details about issues. He did get oven working but didn't even look at the toilet. Said he'd be back to bring missing items and he never returned, We got a voicemail only message was to call back. We did and got voicemail. I sent an email telling them we never heard back and there was no response.
The property was nestled behind a bunch of trees and was secluded and quiet. It was a short walk to the beach and close to the national park. It was perfect for a quiet get-a-way and for a hike or two up the dunes.
Sleek, classy, clean and cozy. Privacy and beauty amongst the hilly tree filled property. Get the grandeur of the dunes landscape while experiencing luxury in this cottage. This property is a work of art. Very cool.
