Villa Manthos, is a traditional Cretan house located in the village of Aliakes in the middle of Crete. The 1 bedroom house is fully equipped and can host up to 4 guests. The house has some key elements such as the "study room" with the big windows, the fire place in the kitchen, the huge garden the perfect place to relax on a sunbed or have lunch in the porch, and the cellar down stairs with so many antiques dated hundreds of years ago.
Villa Manthos is the historical house of the heroes of the Cretan revolution against the Ottoman Turks; Leonidas and Nikolaos Matthaioudakis (sons of the priest Matthaios) who participated in the battle of Arkadi in 1866, the famous monastery of Crete where the holocaust took place. Leonidas actually signed the treaty of Halepa in 1878, that was basic for the autonomy of the island of Crete from the Ottoman Turks and the union with main Greek state.
