Appartement au ski indépendant situé dans le centre des Houches à 50m des télésièges de Bellevue. Ecoles de ski, location d’équipement, restaurant et commerces sont à proximité. L’appartement de 3 chambres a 2 balcons ensoleillés, 1 donnant sur la piste de championnat de monde KANDAHAR. Le chalet/appartement est décoré avec goût dans 1 style traditionnel, carrelage et chauffage au sol partout. Mobilier de luxe avec des canapés confortables pour que vous puissiez vous détendre après avoir skié dans la vallée de Chamonix. Lave-vaisselle, lave-linge sont dans l’appartement. Des casiers à ski fermés et un parking souterrain pour 2 voitures sont disponibles. TV, DVD et connexion sans fil Internet. Nous pouvons également prévoir le transfert aéroportuaire, la location d’une voiture à Genève, l’école de ski, un guide de ski, la location de ski. Si vous partez de l’aéroport de Gatwick, nous vous proposons une nuit d’hébergement et un parking à Masslink Guest House, à tarif réduit.

A wonderful stay in Diane’s apartment. Great location in Les Houches with easy walking to shop and restaurants. Lots of space and rather nice to have children upstairs compared to the master bedroom downstairs. Diane was great with communications in the lead up and when we had questions.

New Year Break

We have recently returned from a weeks stay at this lovely apartment. Everything was very clean, comfortable and, very unusual for French apartments, it actually slept the number of people it is advertised for, without anyone having to sleep in a corridor or a cupboard! The apartment was well equipped and there was loads of hot water, essential on a skiing holiday. Also with 3 teenagers, the wi-fi and satellite tele proved great hits. We would be happy to recommend this apartment to any families looking for somewhere convenient to stay in a lovely area with very easy access to both slopes and shopping.

Great place to stay!

Whether a winter holiday or a summer holiday, I have enjoyed staying in this apartment in Chalet Whymper. The first time I stayed was just after the chalet was built and it was summer. The apartment was well stocked and had everything I needed to enjoy my holiday - somewhere to park the rented car and a lift, no need to walk 3 flights of stairs with all the luggage! The apartment has all the amenities - fully stocked kitchen, tv, wi-fi and fabulous views of the surrounding mountains. The second time I stayed was in the winter and it was still in good condition and everywhere was clean. It was only a short walk down to the cable car so no long bus journey to the ski slopes! Plenty of choice of restaurants to eat out in the evening if we did not feel like cooking and a bakery for lovely fresh bread and cakes to enjoy after a days ski-ing, yummy!! Wonderful views of the surrounding mountains and even Mont Blanc can been seen on a clear day. Despite a fear of heights I did take the cable cars up to see the amazing views up and down the valley. The journey from Geneva was very smooth and signs are easy to follow. I have used both hire cars and Mountain Drop-offs to reach the apratment and both have worked very well. If the restaurants of Les Houches do not appeal there are so many restaurants in Chamonix and a trip into Chamonix is a must as there is so much to see and do there, both in summer and winter! I would recommend this apartment to family and friends as there is plenty of room for everyone to fit in and eat, sleep & watch TV when not our enjoying all the fabulous ski-ing or activities available in Chamonix and the surrounding area. Sitting on the balcony unwinding after a busy day is a great way to appreciate the scenery

Vacances au ski

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour dans cette location. Tout est conforme à l'annonce. La location est idéalement située proche de la télécabine Bellevue (et je n'aime pas marcher en chaussures de ski) et de petits commerces. La location était idéale pour nous qui étions un couple avec 2 jeunes (2+2) et un couple de grand-parents (2). La location offre encore d'autres couchages et des places assises à table, on aurait pu y ajouter facilement 2 personnes. 2 chambres et 1 salle d'eau se trouvent à l'étage, ce qui nous a permis de faire un espace famille et un espace grand-parents. Le plus : 2 places de garage. pas de stress de stationnement. Je remercie l’hôte pour son attention.

Vacances en famille aux Houches

Nous avons passé un très bon séjour globalement dans l'appartement. Il est bien situé au pied du téléphérique de Bellevue et au pied de la Verte des Houches. Si on a des petits c'est un peu plus dee logistique car les cours sont au Prarion mais pas insurmontable, 1km à pied et on revient à ski à côté de l'appartement. L'appartement est bien équipé globalement, manque juste un appareil à raclette mais les fromagers en prêtent donc ça va :) Garage sous terrain très pratiques pour éviter d'avoir à gratter le matin.

Super appartement spacieux et bien equipé pour passer une bonne semaine de vacances

L'appartement est spacieux et l'étage de chambre des idéal pour une famille. Trois WC, jamais besoin d'attendre! Lave vaiselle et lave linge facilitent les taches. Les pistes sont proches, retour à ski possible. Et le bus gratuit passe a coté pour se rendre à l'autre télécabine. 2 garages pour garer deux voitures. Bref, nous sommes très content de notre séjour aux Houches!

Awesome location!

So - Let's start with the (minor) negatives, No chance of getting our car with roofbox into the garage, so it wasn't much fun arriving late when we did and having to unpack and remove that! The apartment could do with a slight update, but I say this as I am looking at it from an envious viewpoint as someone who would love to own this place! It has everything - The location, overlooking the Kandahar run and a small walk downhill to some great family pubs/bars, a fabulous family-run (high-end) grocer & ski hire (all with mega-friendly staff!), plus Bellevue lift - It is extremely well-stocked by the lovely owner, Diane. We used the slow-cooker to make a chicken curry one night, there were loads of loo rolls & kitchen towel there on arrival (essential when you have 3 kids!). Didn't use the ski locker as we left our stuff in one of the 2 garages but my wife checked it out and found a couple of sledges in there - Everything has been thought of! In terms of the prelude to going, Diane was fantastically attentive, making sure we had directions, etc before we went and made sure she was available even though she was going away herself - First class! As a family, we are smitten with this apartment and this location... All made even better by the ease of the rental process that Diane is responsible for, she already feels like a favourite Aunty! Thanks Diane!

I do normally let people know that they are just normal garages if they mention hiring transit vans etc Re décor we have decorated the apartment as a traditional ski chalet rather than with modern décor but pleased that you were happy with the well stocked kitchen etc Looks like you all had a great time and thank you for the kind review

great apartment, perfect location

The apartment was plenty big enough for the seven adults in our party, even at feeding time. Access through the underground garage works well as its a short walk from the cable car or chair lift (which is free - no lift pass required) and with the use of the garages for storing equipment instead of having to take it in the lift to the ski lockers. The bedrooms were a perfect size and having single beds in all rooms but one which also had bunks was a plus. The kitchen has everything required to knock up a feast with the bonus of a dishwasher. Les Houches has plenty to offer skiers and boarders of all abilities and the free buses make accessing the rest of the valley really easy. The village is pretty quiet in the evenings but there are restaurants and a few bars if you want to spend a night away from the apartment, there are also night buses that run to and from chamonix town. The Kitsch Inn is well worth a visit after your final run into the village, its located next to the cable car and has great food and live music from 4pm every day. i would hesitate to book this apartment again, it was perfect and the owner was a pleasure to deal with and very helpful.

A great place to stay in Les Houches

With any skiing holiday it's the small things that make all the difference provided the apartment is everything that you hoped for which indeed it was. Booking communication was great, we had the keys early meaning travel delays (yes it was that Saturday!) didn't affect our arrival arrangements. There are two garages providing lots of space for a car and all the kid's race equipment, the double aspect views were great, being on the top floor means the apartment is quiet, the wifi works; the list goes on. Lovely homely apartment in great location

Me and my family enjoyed our stay in this lovely good sized apartment. It is in a great location just a couple of minutes from the local shops, bars, bus stop (which regular bus service runs to and from Chamonix) and cable car! With a cosy open plan kitchen/lounge/dining area it was great for socialising with our friends in the evenings. All 3 nicely decorated bedrooms are great sizes for accommodating any ages or groups. This was perfect accommodation for us to stay for when we went skiing during the day and to return to at night as it is close to the cable car taking you to the slopes and has all the facilities needed, we are definitely planning to return here again soon!

Fantastic apartment - home away from home!

What a fantastic time .... The apartment was absolutely fab... We couldn't have asked for more. Very comfortable and everything that we needed for a family of 5! The kids aged 10,6 and 5 were delighted .... Sky TV .... Wifi .... And skiing !!!! I would recommend this apartment to anyone ... Have told my colleagues in work. Short distance to the ski lift, lovely restaurants and bus nearly outside the door. This year had a fall and ended up in cast from Wednesday, the fact the apartment was so comfortable and accessible ensured the holiday continued for all. Thank you again Dianne. WONDERFUL WEEK

Spend a wonderful week skiing in perfect conditions made even better by staying in Chalet Whymper. The website description and pictures are accurate but cannot re-create the lovely atmosphere, light and spacious lay-out of the apartment which was well suited to us as 5 adults and 2 children. The views are fantastic! The apartment is modern and well equipped and Diane's pre and post booking advice and information was very helpful. The location is very peaceful yet only a couple of minutes walk from the BelleVue cable car accessing the whole of the Les Houches ski area and several bars and restaurants and a supermarket are on your doorstep - try the Kitch Inn - excellent and very friendly. Have recommended to friends and would certainly return again for skiing but would also be great for a summer trip. Alison James and family

Another great week in Les Houches. Great accommodation comfortable ,clean,well equipped and with an amazing view.We had fantastic weather for January lots of sun and good snow conditions.The close proximity to the main ski lift is a real plus no walking miles or catching buses at the end of the day. After a hot shower(plenty of hot water) there is a good choice of restaurants within walking distance or a well stocked local supermarket for those lucky enough to have a keen cook with them as we did this year a real bonus.! We have also spent a week in this lovely area in the spring still lots to do again the nearby lift gives great access to the mountains for walking ,mountain biking etc.Wonderful spring flowers.in the high meadows. Whatever the season I can recommend Chalet Whymper .The owner is very helpful and and accommodating making sure that everything is as it should be on your arrival and throughout your stay.

Exceptional apartment in an idyllic location.

We have just come back from a weeks holiday in Les Houches. We wanted a place in the mountains where we could go for nice walks and relax in the evening with our two children enjoying the environment and the views of the mountains. This apartment did really fulfill our needs. The views from the terrace were splendid, the apartment was beautiful, spacious, clean and nicely furnished. The location was ideal for day trips to the mountains and the village had lovely restaurants and shops . Les Houches also has regular buses to Chamonix, which was only a few miles away. I would recommend this apartment to anybody looking for a high standard apartment in a relaxing environment with incredible views.

Great ski chalet

The apartment is ideal for ski break - close to lift, great location (walk to lift), close to all amenities and great views. The interiors are very comfortable and has everything you need (fully equipped kitchen, hair dryer, good heating etc). Also, the owner Diane was very helpful with any questions/requests. Would love to stay here again....

Wonderful place

We have just come back from a wonderful week here. The accommodation was excellent. Clean, well maintained and with wifi an added bonus. It is also 100m from the main gondola. The views are spectacular and would be very difficult to match. Les Houches has some lovely slopes with some of the views breathtaking, especially on the Abyeye run (something like that). It is small, but more than enough for beginners and intermediates. For those look for more of a challenge, larger resorts are easily assessible by the bus. Special mention to the local bar/restaurant - Les Kirche (I think that is how it is spelt). Cracking food and service!

Perfect

From the moment that we made our booking through to leaving for our flight home, everything was really perfect. The owner wanted to ensure we had a lovely holiday, the apartment is as described, cosy, well equipped, warm, and just a 5 minute walk to the lifts. The underground garage is idea for ski storage and local restaurants provide safe & honest fare if you fancy a night off. Everything was clean, and the added bonus of wifi and UK TV kept us and the kids in touch! We are booking for the summer too!
