Stayed over Christmas for 17 days, the villa is spacious and comfortable. The open fire was a real boost for the cold evenings making it very homely. There is every thing you need but itâs a little tired in places. The location is perfect for the beach, just steps down from the bottom of the large garden, from where we had a few lunchtime BBQs. We had one or two small issues which George and his son Julian sorted out to make our stay more enjoyable. Great hosts.
Great location which meant our teenage children were able to walk to all amenities in coral bay .
The beach is literally on the doorstep and one of the best in the area with it being sand .
The Villa itself is spacious and comfortable and has all you need for a great holiday . George was really lovely and helpful and couldnât of done enough to make sure your stay is as easy as possible ,
We got married whilst in Cyprus and we had family staying at hotels in the area but we had a family bbq at the Villa and the garden and beach location were amazing for this .
This really is all about the location. If you require a new modern offering then I'm afraid this is not for you. Having said that the owners son also rents a newer property next door with pool.
The villa itself is a little tired and dated but this is made clear from the villa description so came as no surprise. But given its situation within large private gardens and the closeness to the beach we only found ourselves inside to sleep.
I paid a lot of money last year to stay in a "child friendly" villa. Without even claiming to be toddler friendly this beat it hands down. Having no pool and easy access to the beach was fantastic. My 2 year old ran around the garden, played on some little tikes toys the owner had left over from their grandchildren and I relaxed.
I must say George and family were most welcoming and the taverns in his local village such as yannis and local one yianus (not sure of the spelling) offered us far better honest grub and fantastic hospitality than those on the strip.
As for would I recommend well I have already booked for next year.
We stayed at Villa Gema for 2 weeks and this has been one of the best holidays that me and the wife have had (and we've travelled a lot). We arrived late on the Saturday night and George who owns the Villa arranged to meet us. He understood the fact that we'd be tired after travelling and had a welcome pack of groceries for us.
The accomodation itself is clean enough although a little dated - but the unique selling point is the massive garden. Having 2 toddlers that love exploring makes this a perfect spot as the garden is so open. There are a couple of fruit trees (orange and lemon) that we made juice from and enough sunbeds to keep everyone happy. The beach itself is only 20 yards away - down a set of steps that George actually built many moons ago. Shooping couldnt be easier as there is the local 'Philipops' supermarket at the top of the road (which do magnificent breakfasts for a couple of euros's each).
We enjoyed the staying at Villa Gema so much - that we've already made a booking for 2016. . . Many thanks to George & Julian and of course Andreas who handles the bookings from the UK side.

I have built the villa in 1982 as I fell in love with Coral Bay. The Villa has been the family summer holiday home for many years but now the kids are grown and the house is a shame to leave empty so I want other families to enjoy the house and the great location for their holidays
