Lovely refurbished villa, set over 3 floors with balconies and views over the mountains and sea in the distance. Very private location with pool and everything you need for a relaxing week in Corfu including much needed air con in every room. Overall we would highly recommend it, was great for a family break with our teens. Only downside and no reflection on the villa was there was nothing within walking distance in the village so a car is a must for shopping / eating out etc
Beautiful Corfu, villa not quite what we were sold...
We've tried to discuss our comments with the owner but they have yet to respond.
Corfu is a magical island and as always, the people were welcoming and friendly. We always got a friendly greeting from the Drosato locals.
However, we had quite a few issues with the villa, which was not as 'immaculate' as we were led to believe.
-Before we booked, we asked if there was a parking space big enough for a 9 seater vehicle. We were assured that there was. This isnât the case and our vehicle made it difficult for locals to access the road in front of the villa. We expected a dedicated parking space, given the listing and the owner's assurance.
-The use of the visual âWasher & Dryerâ icon suggested there was a washer and tumble dryer. We emailed to check specifically if there was a tumble dryer and were told we could use âeverythingâ. There was no tumble dryer. We did lots of washing and ironing because the only dryer was an old rack. We felt that a specific question got a generic answer which misled us.
-Two of the showers had missing doors. We contacted the owner and the local manager and were told they were removed because they were dangerous and we should put a towel down. The water came through the ceiling into the ground floor down the electric light socket. We didnât dare use that shower again. We felt that having paid for 4 showers it wasn't acceptable to only have 2 complete working showers between 7 guests.
-The villa had a severe damp problem. Itâs an old house and a good attempt at restoration had been made but the damp mould on the ground floor walls needed attention due to the strong smell. The kitchen cupboards were also damp and smelled awful; everything had to be washed before use.
-The cupboards were poorly stocked with tiny tumblers and a very limited range of cooking pots and accessories.
-The fridge, oven, toaster and drying rack were dirty. The barbeque was also too dirty to use and the sofa was torn and stained, as were the quilts and pillows.
-The listing states that cleaning is provided twice a week. We only got one cleaning visit and we had to wash all the pool towels ourselves.
-The lack of shutters (only thin voiles) resulted in street lights shining directly into the windows - not great for sleeping.
Overall, itâs not as luxurious a place to stay as the listing suggests - and there is no village bakery. However, the pool was great and the gentlemen who watered the plants and maintained the pool were fabulous.
Lovely house in a magical small village nestled in the olive groves. Very helpful
Our stay in Drosanto exceeded expectations. Charming location. The house is large, very clean and comfortable, with exquisite views. Located in a tiny Greek village untouched by globalization. The owner and their agent were extremely helpful. Beautiful pool. Very close to local services (including a Greek bread baker right around the corner where we could get fresh loaves each morning). But also rural with walks through olive groves right out the door. Not too far from sea and beaches, as well as ancient villages and castles. We loved everything about our stay. (Kids and adults alike).
We stayed in this house a week i august 2015 and we are really very satisfied and happy for the stay. We didn't want to go home. The house is very good. Everything was perfect: the bedrooms, the bathrooms (one to every bedroom), the kitchen (very well equipped), the pool (Clean and nice, worked very good for both adults and small children), the village (very nice not to live in a tourist area but in an ordinary greek village), the surroundings (all wonderful beaches, the best up in the north, Almyros). Do not hesitate! Rent this house! It is better than the impression from the website (which is not so common).

We fell in love with the beauty of the island and the warmth and generosity of the local people. We happened upon the village of Drosato and were mesmerised by its idyllic location, spectacular views and the rustic charm of this truly authentic Geek Village. We have completely renovated the house, which we believe dates back to the 17th century. Throughout the whole project we have been very careful to be sympathetic towards the house and tried to maintain as many of the original features as possible, using locally sourced materials to maintain as much character and charm as possible.
The house is ideally located for exploring the island and is conveniently located close to what we believe are some of the most beautiful resorts on the island. The village itself is so peaceful that you can not help but to relax and unwind and enjoy the beauty of the island from any one of the four terraces or balconies.
