Group of restored farm houses The essence of true Sicilian countryside living. Large property divided into three colonial houses each with private outdoor area; garden with swimming pool and views over the sea. Suitable for big groups and large families. The property is just two km from Fiumefreddo, a small village at the foot of Mount Etna facing the Ionian Sea, about halfway between Catania and Taormina.

Between the houses there's a patio with a large dining table for 16 people, with view over the orange grove, the sea ad the swimming pool. The large and subtly designed pool fits well with the lawned terracing and the buildings. There are plenty of shaded areas for outdoor dining and relaxing whilst enjoying the views of the surrounding countryside and the sea.

The estate is the perfect place to combine beach-life with the tranquility of a countryside base. Accommodation at Borgo degli Aranci is spread over 3 buildings for a total of 10 bedrooms, 6 bathrooms, total of 16 sleeps.Villa Cedro: On the ground floor there is a large living/dining room, the kitchen, a bathroom and a single bedroom. Upstairs there are 2 doubles, 2 twin and one single, all sharing two bathrooms. Villa Mandarino: Set on one floor with living/dining room, there are two bedrooms, one double and one twin, sharing one bathroom. All rooms are with French windows on to terraces, with views of the sea and overlooking the pool area.Villa Pompelmo: Stairs lead from a large living-room to the first floor where there are two bedrooms, one double and one twin, sharing one bathroom. The other bathroom is in the main floor close to the well-equipped kitchen. Weekly cleaning and linen change is included. Daily maid service and cook available on request. Outside the houses there’s the laundry for washing and ironing. In addition, for those traveling with young children (under two years) a baby bed and high chair are available at no additional cost. Guests are encouraged to make use of herbs, fruits and vegetables from the estate’s organic kitchen garden.As the properties are part of a licensed farmhouses rental we have a limit of guests for each property imposed by the authorization documents, and this includes the number of children in extra beds. It is not admitted having guests sleeping on sofas or on inflatable mattresses. At the same time roulettes or RV are not admitted in the property. We have to be very strict on this subject and if at any time the number of guests occupying the house exceeds the number agreed, we reserve the right to terminate the stay at the property and ask the guests to vacate the house. The rental will not be refunded.

The town of Fiumefreddo is a perfect gateway to exploring not only the looming volcano but also its many interesting towns and villages. There are a great number of excellent walks in the area and many visits to be made: Taormina, Catania, the Alcantara Gorge and, slightly further afield, Siracusa. The baroque town of Noto, the quiet beaches of Vendicari and Capo Passero to the south and Messina to the north are all confortably reachable for day trips. There are also charming fishing villages and several beaches dotted along the coastline around Fiumefreddo, including Marina di Cottone, San Marco and Fondachello (just south). Further north at Taormina there is a good selection of sandy and pebbly beaches, rocky coves and grottoes: Mazzarò, Letojanni and Giardini-Naxos. Further south towards Catania there are the charming towns of Riposto, Acireale, Aci Trezza and Aci Castello where the coast is rocky. An eighteen hole golf course, Il Picciolo, is 10km away and there’s a good tennis club Circolo Tennis Le Rocce, in the little town of Mascali about 10 minutes drive from the villa.

The property is surrounded by the scents and colors of 3 hectares of orange trees, creating a splendid natural backdrop to Mount Etna and the sea. You can go swimming or skiing, while admiring the sea or explore the roads going through Etna's vineyards.
