The cabin was well equipped with everything you would need except a comfortable bed. The pillows should be replaced they are really stiff/hard. We do sleep on a king select comfort bed so it maybe we are just really picky and I have a bad neck and he has bad back. Anyhow the property & river was amazing and provided the serenity we needed away from the city.
The property was just as listed, but more beautiful in person! My boyfriend and wanted a relaxing getaway for our 4 year anniversary and it is just what we got here. Their outdoor patio was especially beautiful, you could play outdoor games, sit in the hot tub, or just lounge on the patio all while watching the river flow by. What an amazing stay!
This is a wonderful property with a beautiful view. Brenda was very accommodating and responsive. The space is a perfect spot to unwind after exploring the area. Would definitely stay again!
Very cute little cabin next to an amazing river. Everything in the cabin was well kept and clean. Brenda was an excellent host with communication and she was easy to reach.
We had a lovely two night stay. New, excellently appointed kitchen, comfortable bed, nicely appointed apartment. Highly recommend and we look forward to returning.
We really enjoyed our stay here. Everything was amazing. This place was clean, comfortable, and the view of the river, and the property was scenic and lovely. Really enjoyed the hot tub after our activities. We enjoyed a nice fire outside, and the wood was provided as well. Communication was excellent. Iâd definitely stay here again.
Loved the natural beauty of the location. The river is tranquil and the forests bring ease to a fast life. The cabin is so cozy it's almost tempting to forgo the nature and stay in by the fire with a good book.
Overall a wonderful trip. Thank you.
We are Ted and Brenda Connely. Brenda grew up in Forks. Ted is from Nebraska but has been here on the Olympic Peninsula since 1976. We were living in Port Angeles when we found the river house. A friend mentioned the property might be available. We bought it and spent every spare moment for the next four years fixing it up. One day in March of 2004 Brenda came back to the cabin from work in Port Angeles carrying Sam the cat, who had been the only one occupying the house in Port Angeles most of the time. 'We live here now,' she announced, 'we're always here anyway.' She got no argument from Ted and so the house in Port Angeles was sold and we became full time residents at the cabin.
Everybody enjoyed life at the cabin, including Sam, but after several long, wet winters we decided to buy a larger home closer to Forks, still on the river but not as special. We couldn't bring ourselves to sell the cabin so we decided to share it with others by turning in into a vacation rental. It has been gratifying to see our guests love it too. So many have told us they don't want to leave at the end of their stay.
Even though the property was all grown up with weeds and the house was very run down, we knew at first sight this was our place. The sparkling river running along the edge of the yard, the golden light coming through the trees, just the peaceful feel of the place. Many guests have used the word 'magical' to describe their feelings about the place.
We originally bought this property for our own vacation home with no thought of its potential as a vacation rental property. But not only is it a beautiful, relaxing, welcoming spot to stay, it is very handily located within an hour's drive of nearly all the attractions of the northwest section of Olympic National Park. Many guests comment on what a great base camp it is for seeing the park. We have often heard how nice it is to come home to after a day of hiking and exploring to sit by the river, BBQ on the deck, soak in the hot tub, build a fire in the firepit, and sleep in the very comfortable beds.
