Our family went on an early Xmas trip all together to Santa's Village and this place was plenty big for 9 of us including children. There is a plenty of sleeping space. We loved the hot tub! It can be chilly getting in and out on the porch but invigorating. The place is older but that didn't bother us at all. The heating is radiator style and it was plenty warm for us. Did not have to crank heat to feel it! Check in was easy enough. We all enjoyed the house and accommodations.
The reason why I did not give 5 star is because we had to clean kitchen because we found mouse droppings near the coffee machine and in the silverware drawers. So we had to clean it. I am not sure if owners have someone come in and clean and not inspect it themselves sometimes or just trust the cleaning person. When renting thru VRBO we get charged a cleaning fee. Therefore, we feel we shouldn't had to clean prior to our stay. Maybe the owner's are unaware of a mice problem as it is colder and they look for warmth. Their were some other cob webs around the windows etc.
Do Note that this did not stop us from enjoying ourselves. Just needs a little more cleaning love! They have lots of pots, pans, silverware, towels, toilet paper etc. This spacious home is beautiful and in a quiet location. We found Bethlehem is a nice quaint little town.
The house was comfortable, but not fancy. Some odd bill adding if things were not done at check out like cleaning the towels. I would recommend you just bring your own. Waited until check in time to send details. This was unnerving because it wasnât communicated so you just hoped you could get in when you got there.
There was an almond under my pillow which may have been related to a cute ritual, but I was traveling with two people highly allergic to nuts , so it was a little unnerving.
I would stay there again though. It was good with a large group and we enjoyed walking to breakfast.
The owner Patrick was very quick to answer any questions or concerns we hadâŠhe didnât have a good answer concerning the heater though. I did message him in the Vrbo app after we stayed, to tell him a few things we noticed, but i havenât heard back from him about anything I listed. So here it is⊠I get that itâs an old house, thatâs part of the charm, butâŠThe bathroom upstairs: 2 of the 3 lights were burnt out, no lock on the bathroom door. The dishwasher still had dishes in it from the previous people. The bathroom downstairs had a lock but it didnât latch enough for the lock to work. The washer and dryer are located there, the dryer had a towel from the previous people staying there. There was a huge cobweb where the puzzles were located on the shelf, it took up 2 shelves. The bed was so squeaky anytime we turned over the springs would make the loudest noises, It was very hard to rest there. I will say the covers looked clean. The bedroom with the 2 queen beds, one of the boards fell and even after replacing it, the bed kept dipping. We had to use the heat and the instructions said it heats up quickly, only set it to 60 degrees , so we did , the room with the king bed filled with steam (my kids thought it was smoke and hollered for us) but it was indeed steam, the men in our group turned the value to close and it still leaked some. The cast iron register was missing and it only had an open pipe to release the steam in the room to heat. The house is next to an overgrown lot, that has old rusted cars near it. There is a for sale sign on the porch that partly was hanging offâŠmaybe thatâs a reason for all that. Also when I checked out on Vrbo it made me pay a $59 fee for any incidentals. I hate to leave negative reviews, but I did give it 3 stars. but Iâd pass on this house next time.
This property was in a great location for everything we wanted to do on our vacation, shopping, restaurants, hiking and just plain relaxing with friends in the large open kitchen and dining room or in the hot tub!!
Stayed up here for a weekend. Great location- we were able to walk to a local restaurant/brewing company for dinner. There was also a family of deer right outside the house one night. Owner was easy to communicate with. Whole process was easy and great. Only suggestions are bring fans/portable A/C as only one room upstairs has A/C and it was super hot the weekend we stayed. Other than that- house has everything we needed! Thank you for letting us stay at your place!
Loved the house, super clean. Hot tub was fun! I love Bethlehem and we were so close to the quaint town. Close to the mountains Bretton Woods and Cannon. Beds were comfy. Owners answered questions quickly.
Excellent house. Clean, spacious, and comfortable. The owners were communicative and responsive. The check-in instruction sheet should be updated (door combo and TV info were not accurate).
We found the house to be comfortable and roomy. The hot tub is especially nice. The kitchen is roomy and easy to use. Bring ice because the ice maker wasnât working.
We spent a week at the house over the holidays. The house was clean and everything was in great condition. We had an issue with the Internet and cable but the owners were able to help us clear it with Spectrum very quickly. We were so happy at the way the owners responded- Spectrum was out to fix the issue the very next morning. Everything else was seamless. Itâs snow during our time there and the plows came to plow out the driveway. I definitely recommend this house for anybody who is going to be vacationing in the area.
Property was clean. Bedrooms, dinning room, and living room were nice. Short on cooking supplies with one small frying pan. One roll of TP supplied and needed to go out and get some. Ice machine was off on the freezer and needed to go out for ice. One shower if you have a larger group(we were 9). Overall good for the price which was lower than others.
Love the location of this house. Bethlehem is a great little town to check out and you can easily walk to main st from here. Perfect location to easily access all the hiking white mountains has to offer.
Everything was as expected and just what we needed the night before running a 200 mile relay race with friends from Bretton woods to Hampton beach. The owners were great, easy to communicate with and very accommodating. Thank you!
Walking up to the property, there was an unfinished marijuana cigarette on the ground in front of the stairs. We had to spend about an hour cleaning the house, as it was left for us in pretty poor condition, which made our time in the house a little unnerving, especially during a pandemic. The hot tub was nice, the house is nice. I had to reach out to the owner the day of arrival to get instructions on how to get into the house. We had a great time on our trip, but would stay somewhere else next time.
We enjoyed our quiet stay here. It was a perfect getaway alone for our Anniversary Celebration during Covid. The hot tub was relaxing after an afternoon snowshoeing at Echo Lake.
Many thanks for sharing this lovely older home and your attentiveness
We enjoyed our stay on Meadow Street in Bethlehem! Having grown up in town it was great to come home so to speak. House is very nice; warm, spacious. We enjoyed the country feel to it; big kitchen, nice sized bedrooms. Fantastic location to everything you'd want to see in the North Country depending on the season. Fun to have a hot tub; that was a plus. Perfect for a large family as there are plenty of sleeping accommodations. Would stay again!
