Traditional decor and features provide welcome comfort for the whole family, with some of the best backcountry skiing through White Mountain National Park and year-round recreation offering four seasons of fun. During the winter, there are tons of Nordic tracks, snowmobile, or snowshoe trails to explore, or you can hit one of the many nearby ski resorts. Cannon Mountain is just nine miles south and Bretton Woods is only 13 miles east of town. Outside of ski season, you'll have a bounty of nearby hiking and fishing options. Golfers in the group will also enjoy easy access to Bethlehem Golf Club and Maplewood Golf Course both within a two-mile drive. Story Land Amusement park, Whales Pale Water Park, Ice Castles, and Living Shores Aquarium offer easy day trips for families looking for a day of fun with their little ones. There are a number of other attractions to visit as well, such as a dirt bike course, a skatepark, antique shops, axe throwing, moose tours, a maple syrup factory, a rope course, train rides, and the world's largest candy counter, Cheddar Candies.
