Great property, easy location to shuttle and turtle beach! Kitchen had everything we needed. The roku tv and WiFi were good for the colder days. Would stay again!
We stayed here with 4 adults and 2 children. The space was comfortable and location was great! Our 2 year old loved the heated pool. We had a small issue with a small appliance that was resolved very quickly by management! Only complaint was that the floors were quite dirty.
This property was great. Loved that there werenât any common walls. Outside areas were fantastic. Lots of stuff in the laundry area to use. Beach chairs, fishing equipment coolers. Made beaching very easy. Donât have one negative thing to say. Siesta Key is a wonderful location!!
Overall our family enjoyed staying at Heron Lagoon #7. It was perfect for our family to get together for our gathering and family wedding. Quiet and comfortable for our family's needs. Some small things needed to make it more appealing; hooks or places to hang items in the bedrooms, bar stools in the kitchen, full-length mirror, and a real coffee maker would be great. The bird watching was amazing - Bald Eagles, Ospreys, Herons, Pelicans, and so much wildlife! We most certainly would stay there again!
The property was nice and the free trolly was very convenient to get to and from the bars and restaurants. We appreciated the stock of coolers and lawn chairs available for use. It would have been nice to have garbage bags available as you have to buy large quantities at the store. All in all our 2 families of 4 enjoyed our stay in house #7!
A group of 6 friends stayed at Siesta Heron Unit 7. We were impressed with the cleanliness of our unit and the pretty view. With a few needed improvements, this unit would be much better for a group of adults.
This is advertised as sleeping 8 people. A few necessary improvements are:
More coffee mugs
More wine glasses
Bar stools
Better/reliable coffee maker
Adequate living room seating and lamps
Mirrors in each bedroom
More and better quality linens
Siesta Key is a lovely little Island to stay on for a family winter getaway. We found it very convenient to Sarasota Bradenton Airport and were able to use Lyft to get to our stay. We didn't need to rent a car, although we did have access to one since some of the family drove from Pennsylvania. There's a trolley that takes visitors up and down the island. Easy access to groceries and restaurants and the beach.
We loved our lodging located right on Heron Lake/Lagoon. The pool is right there and made our little kids very happy.
We used the kayaks and the bikes. There were beach chairs and towels so we didn't have to bring any of that. The kitchen was sufficiently stocked with equipment for our needs. We had access to a washer and dryer. All in all, it's suited our needs very very well.

Reviewer Comments:
Overall, this was a good vacation rental. I personally would opt to stay right on the beach for a future vacation, but I would recommend this property to a friend. Pros: While not on the beach, the lagoon access was nice. It is far enough away from the busy resorts that it is calm and quiet. Cons: The floors appeared to not have been mopped in quite some time, and the kitchen could have been more stocked with supplies (ex. ours did not have potholders and the salt shaker was empty). I definitely recommend taking the trolly to the public beaches to avoid the hassle of parking.
While the location was great the house did not live up to its hype. The air conditioner was not able to keep up with the heat in the unit. Even when we were gone all day when we returned it was still 78 degrees in the house. The house smelled of mold the floors were not swept, the bathroom rugs were not cleaned we had to wash them ourselves, there was evidence of leaks in the kitchen that were not repaired, the floor had an area in the living room where what I guess was a leak of some sort caused the flooring to bubble. There was 1 smoke detector and it was located in the master bedroom. I would not recommend this property until these repairs are made. One positive the water heater went out on Friday night and was finally repaired on Sunday
My stay Siesta Heron was anything but cozy and left much to be desired. From the onset, the property did not live up to the expectations set by the glowing reviews and appealing photographs posted online. My concerns are threefold and notably impacted the quality of my stay: an unwelcome pest sighting, inadequate outdoor lighting, and unresponsive hosts.
First, the discovery of a cockroach lounging on the sofa upon our arrival was disheartening. It immediately cast a pall over our stay, making us question the cleanliness and overall maintenance of the property. Such an encounter is unacceptable and greatly detracted from the comfort and appeal of the living space, making it difficult to relax and unwind. (Photos were sent to the host as proof).
Second, the lack of lighting on the deck was a significant drawback. Evenings on the deck were something we looked forward to based on the description and images provided. However, the complete absence of outdoor lighting rendered the space unusable after sunset. This not only limited our enjoyment of the property but also raised safety concerns.
Lastly, the lack of communication from the host was perhaps the most disappointing aspect of our experience. Despite reaching out to them during our stay to address these concerns, we received no response. This lack of engagement and customer service is inexcusable and left us feeling neglected and frustrated.
In conclusion, this stay was far from the relaxing retreat we had anticipated, m
Negatives:
Missing 1 smoke detector and wine/cocktail glasses
Damaged ironing board cover
Greasy cooking utensils
Oven baking trays were burned/stained/greasy in spots
The table place mats were worn/grease stained
The property is listed as 3 bedrooms but only one has a closet. Master bedroom had no hanging or storage space
The plank flooring in the main area is worn out. The floor has deep gouges/scratches and is bubbling up and flexes up and down and has been nailed down in spots
The sliding patio door to deck was âALMOST IMPOSSIBLE â to open/close/ lock due to worn track and rollers. ( Waited 10 days to get the door repaired.) Repairman said the door was in this condition for a long time
Deck outside patio door is covered with rotten boards with numerous nails/screw heads poking up to rip bare feet or trip someone
Suggestions for the future⊠The unit needs major refreshing
Better cleaning (The cleaning crew left the property with cobwebs on the walls. Dead bugs entangled in the webs/or on the window sills
The walls in the main living area or worn, scuffed and stained and sorely in need of a fresh coat of paint
The plank floor needs to be replaced
The deck needs to be resurfacedâŠDangerous in its present condition
The property needs to be inspected periodically to prevent future issues
In summary we did not get the value that would be expected for the premium price paid. The property needs to be brought up to standards to match asking price.
The property had tons of bugs in it and after reaching out and receiving no help or advice on how to get rid of the bugs. We left the property and had bugs in our luggage and on our clothes. Do not recommend staying here until they fix the bugs issue.
Property was super clean with everything you can possibly need in the kitchen and amenities. We were a party of 4 friends and had plenty of beds and some extra. Everything was clean and well maintained. Quiet and away from the traffic and noise of Siesta Key but close enough to restaurants, bars, and the beach.
We really enjoyed the location (between Turtle Beach and Siesta Beach). We took advantage of the pool, kayaks and stand up paddle boards in the bay. The kitchen was well-equipped so eating in was pleasant. We also used the grills. The only complaint is not having working bikes. Had we known, we would have rented bikes in advance. The kids got miles out and the chains slipped; they had to walk the bikes back.
We had a great time in this bungalo style home. You share a pool with only 6 other homes so our time here was very quiet! The trolley was very helpful in getting to the beach and up town without having to load every one up in the car. We thoroughly enjoyed this house.
Rented unit 7 for our ladies getaway. The unit was very clean and nicely updated! The pool is right outside the units and is nicely maintained. There was a property/maintenance manager onsite at the time and was very hospitable and attentive to our requests for service. The property is in a great location!!! The property is beautiful with great amenities!! The only suggestion would be to replace the two twin beds in the front room with comfortable mattresses. Otherwise the other mattresses were comfortable. I would definitely recommend this rental for a Seista Key getaway!!
Enjoyed the place as it was away from the hustle of Siesta Key center and gave us a little privacy. Itâs about 4 miles to the area where all the shops are so thatâs a little hike. Extremely busy during Spring Break but the cottage itself was great. New grills, clean inside and it was close to turtle beach fir a quick walk to the ocean. Would recommend.
Very nice place. Not in the heart of traffic congestion hut, there was very little water pressure and just as much little toilet paper. We found that after just two days that we had to be very careful with the TP. Also, the air conditioning could NOT keep up with the ambient temperature outside. Then, when night came, we were freezing.
Otherwise, it was a very nice little âresortâ with a central pool and a deck out back right on the lagoon.
