This is a single building rental of a Kyomachiya that has been in existence since the Meiji Era (1868-1912). The window overlooks the Kamo River and the town of Gion, making it a prime location to enjoy the typical Kyoto scenery.

Great location and exceptional host. Everything clean and organized. Older style Japanese home with all the modern amenities. Super family friendly, great for babies and children.
My husband and I stayed there for 5 nights with 4 teenage kids (the house could fit one more). It is tastefully renovated house with all brand new appliances, however it still preserves the traditional ambience. We were really impressed. We also enjoyed its location close to the hiking/biking trail along the river: kids were jogging there in the morning and in the evening we took a 15-20 min walk home from busy district. Would highly recommend the place!
Our extended family (3 generations) stayed for a week and found the house to be perfect for us.
Our extended family (3 generations) stayed for a week and found the house to be perfect for us. Kazuya was very helpful suggesting sights near the house and the buses/subway/train are all within easy walking distance. The house was very clean and had everything we needed to feel at home. The location threw us at first as it is on a busy street amid commercial storefronts but don't be deterred. It ended up being perfect because it is close to restaurants, markets and transportation options. The little hole-in-the-wall grill restaurant right next to the house was the highlight of our son's trip.
