Host and property manager were attentive and kind. House was clean and beds were comfortable. The upstairs got toasty warm during the day, No AC- though they did have fans. Overall, good experience. Thank you Peter and Crystal.
Though the house was spacious, the negatives outweighed the positive. One of the trash drums was still full. The floor was unlevel all over the house, the stairs were extremely creaky. The backyard was extremely unkept. There was liquid seeping from under the toilet. THERE WAS NO AIR CONDITIONING. I am having issues with the VRBO app and can not post the picures, but I will as soon as link link will allow.
Shame on me for not noticing A/C wasn't listed in the "Comfort" category. I would never imagine a vrbo rental wouldn't have A/C! It was boiling the day we arrived & there were a lot of flies. No front screen door. Some of the window screens had giant holes in them, rendering them useless and the living room window shade was broken. Luckily, it was the last day of the heat wave, so the rest of the days were tolerable. Otherwise, it was okay. On the plus side, lots of towels. On the negative side, no toiletries in the shower --no gel, no bar soap. There was good communication and the property manager was quick to replace a missing fan in one of the bedrooms. Kitchen was well-equipped. Note, the driveway is very narrow, so if you have a large/wide vehicle, look elsewhere.
Delayed home renovations meant I couldnât host my out of town family for the holidays, but finding this house literally saved the vacation for everyone. The house was warm and cosy with everything we needed to celebrate together. There is great storage in each bedroom & plenty of space so we never felt crammed in together. The kitchen was well stocked with lots of basics and plenty of cooking utensils and pans so it was actually pleasant to cook in, even when cooking large holiday meals! The only thing probably missing for the number of people was a dishwasher for longer term stays. The house is likely nearly 100 years old (as are most of the homes in the area), so if you expect even floors this might not be the place for you, but if you love character, this house has been well updated and freshly painted which makes for a clean and comfortable stay and it feels instantly like a home.Itâs in a great location, close walking distance to the cinema & diner & a bunch of great restaurants, bars & coffee shops all nearby too. Being right next to the 490 gives you access to most parts of Rochester in 20 mins or less. This is a new rental and we rented with only 24 hrs notice so there were the expected issues with making sure everything was exactly as needed, but they were all handled quickly. There was good communication with the property management company so I wouldnât expect those to reoccur for future renters. We are definitely taking away happy memories from our stay!
The home was a great landing pad for visiting friends and family nearby. With a few updates it could be even better. It's an old home so the floors squeak upstairs , so was a bit noisy to navigate while others are sleeping. A couple of the bedroom doors don't shut fully, so if those got fixed would be better. Adding a small shelf or storage in the upstairs bathroom to put your things down when getting ready would also help.Overall though, a great experience, easy to check in and out. They were responsive when any issues came up. .
