We had a peaceful stay at this beautiful cabin! We enjoyed sitting on the patio and looking out over the water every morning and evening. Chris is close by if we needed anything, which we didn’t because the cabin has all the necessities. Ellsworth has the cutest little downtown area as well as all the stores/restaurants that a big city has. Overall, we are extremely happy with our stay!!

Very clean pet friendly roomy kitchen well stocked with cooking utensils and pots and pans the only issue we had was locating the property directions need to be updated but very pleased overall

The house was well appointed and tidy. The kitchen had what we needed for the cooking that we did and the bathrooms were clean and well stocked with towels. Our favorite part was the yard and back deck. We enjoyed watching the boats and the birds as we hung out! The shops and restaurants in downtown Ellsworth are lovely and certainly worth visiting. This is our second time staying in Ellsworth while visiting Acadia. The drive to the park is easy and only takes a little while. We would absolutely stay here again!

Cute cabin on a dead end road. Was exactly what we were looking for. We could watch wildlife morning and night seals, Eagles, osprey, and Deer. Not too far of a drive to Acadia if you’re looking to get away from people once you’ve spent your day in the national park.

Beautiful, cozy, clean and well kept property with plenty of space for the family to relax and enjoy nature. The house is an easy commute of about 20 minutes to the entrance of Acadia. While standing on the patio we watched bald eagles, river otters and seals. The kitchen is well stocked and the property is well maintained. Very enjoyable stay and will plan to return!

Absolutely fantastic place to stay. Idyllic location with absolutely beautiful scenery. It’s wonderful to watch the wildlife (we saw deer, seals, lots of birds) as the tides come in and out. Cabin is perfectly appointed with everything you need. The location is remote and quiet but very conveniently located. Our stay was absolutely perfect and we can’t imagine a better place to stay. Our dog enjoyed the property too, she would just go outside and sit and stare at the water, no doubt contemplating dog life’s greatest questions. 12/10 very highly recommend!

Wonderful stay!

We enjoyed the peace and quiet and end of road privacy. The cabin was clean and well maintained and we felt very much at home. We would not hesitate to recommend this property to anyone or stay there again.

Perfect launch location for Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park.

Perfect place if your plan is too travel yo Bar Harbor, Acadia National Park. Property is located in a quiet area with easy access to restaurants and shopping ( i.e., Hannaford, Shawn's, etc). Property is not luxurious but gets the job done.

Loved our stay at this beautiful cabin. It was cozy and total serenity sitting on the deck watching the lake. Close to the amazing Acadia park. We ending our days around the fire pit with s’mores. Great communication from our hosts. Would love to return

What a special place! Close to everything but tucked away at the end of a private road. The view is beautiful and it’s a very private and peaceful setting. Our dogs loved it and we really appreciate the gates around the deck for them. And the addition of fall mums around the property was such a nice touch! Chris the host couldn’t have been nicer. Would absolutely stay here again!

We absolutely loved our stay at this beautiful vacation home! The house was spotless, well-maintained, and had everything we needed. The yard was gorgeous, and the view from the deck was truly unforgettable—we spotted seals multiple days. Deer in the front yard.The location couldn’t have been better: just a short drive to shopping, Acadia National Park, and Bar Harbor, but it still felt peaceful and secluded. Wonderful stay with a beautiful view

We had a fantastic time. The view of the river is unbeatable. We loved drinking coffee on the deck and watching the wildlife (Bald Eagles, gulls, and seals). I never felt like I had to worry about my dog barking or doing normal dog things.The cabin is very clean, has everything you need and continently located near stores, restaurants, and Bar Harbor. Host is very kind and communicative.

What a beautiful property! It's located at end of a long gravel road on a tidal river. There's a deck, firepit, and basketball net. You can check the tidal clock inside and explore the riverside at low tide. It is 40-ish minute ride to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. Nearby is a Hannaford supermarket and a LL Bean outlet, with plenty of other stores and restaurants nearby. After a long day exploring Acadia, the quiet, comfortable house is the perfect place to rest and take in the views.

What a view!

I was impressed from the moment I stepped out of my car. You could not ask for a more wonderful view morning, noon, and night. The ease of booking to the moment of departure was such a breeze. When I contacted the host, he messaged me back almost instantly. The home was beautifully decorated inside and out. I would recommend this home to anyone looking for a rental in this area - close proximity to lots of adventures.

The photos do not do this property justice! The property and cabin are beautiful and tranquil. Only 30 minutes to Acadia National Park. Very easy to tour all of Mount Desert Island from the cabin. 10 mintes to a couple of grocery stores. When we first turned onto the dirt/gravel road and the GPS still showed 1 mile to go we were a bit apprehensive but we went to the end of the road and turned into the drive and were met with a stunning view of the cabin, cove and river. The road has several lovely homes on them and are spread out with lots of privacy. We would definitely stay at this cabin again.

Quintessential Down East Maine

My wife and I couldn’t be happier with our stay here. The cabin was cozy, inviting and had all the accommodations we needed. The setting: perfect! Right on the tidal river and seemingly in the middle of nowhere—but super close to anything we needed in Ellsworth. Centrally located for easy trips to MDI, Schoodic and Deer Isles/Stonington.Cannot recommend highly enough. We’re definitely putting this on the short list of our favorite places to stay in our most favorite place. We’ll definitely be returning!!

Outstanding property & location!

Three of us stayed with our two dogs at the property and absolutely loved it! The host had great communication and left us a blueberry cake. This is incredibly roomy. We didn’t have any kids with us but if you’re traveling with teens or young ones this is a great spot. There is a basement w. a couch and tv, and outside has plentiful hangout spaces and a swing set. The views from the deck are awesome! We were fortunate to go to Acadia off season and getting to Bar Harbor or the side the park over there is about 35-40 mins and it flies by quickly, and you are 25 mins from the park closest to the house. We highly recommend it and would love to stay here again! Home away from home feeling as it is quite cozy and comfortable.

Beautiful Home Away From Home

House was secluded and peaceful on an inlet of a tidal river. With our morning coffee we enjoyed watching blue herons, bald eagles, hawks and other water fowl. We were able to bring our dog who we just rescued and didn’t want to leave home. House was well stocked with linens, towels, and everything you'd need in a kitchen. We wanted some place secluded in case our dog barked and this was perfect. There was good communication with the owner who was next door in case we needed anything. The only snafu, and not anything major, was that GPS said the location was down an inaccessable street Spindle Road) but folks who lived on that road were kind enough to give us directions to the location which was a mile further away. I think directions to the listing would be helpful since GPS will not take you there! home.homecoming h hahomhositter
