Stay was wonderful. Great unit and location. Denise was very responsive. Elevator did not work for most of stay and building is still undergoing repairs from hurricane damage, but that did not stop us from having a fantastic time
The gulf shore location was ideal with beautiful views and easy access to the Gulf beaches and waters. The 3rd floor condo did not have access to a working elevator and the stairwell doors were improperly propped open. The beauty of the location offset the inconveniences mentioned above.
This is the second time we have stayed at this property and it has been great both times. It is a great unit with three bedrooms, a beautiful ocean view, and a huge patio area. There are 30 units in this condo complex and this one is clearly the best one. Would happily stay there again next year.
We had a fantastic stay for a month at this property! It's beautiful and the view is stunning! Great communication, nice pool, and everything you could wish for!
Donât bother looking any further. This is the one. Excellent location. Excellent owners. Excellent full-timers. Excellent property. Walk to dinner. Walk to Mahuffers (Donât forget your hand sanitizer). Oh, never miss a sunset. They are spectacular from the back deck. Blessings!!
We have stayed at The Rose in the past, but this unit, with its huge patio, is simply magnificent and transforms the experience. Thanks for sharing it with us. As a postscript, the neighbors were very welcoming. A great place. Highly recommended.
The balcony was wonderful. However, they were grinding on the outside of the building from approximately 8 to 4 every day. However, we did have a nice time and suited our needs.
Unit was as advertised. A couple glitches but nothing that would stop us from coming back.
Patio is awesome ! Well furnished and huge ! Already booked next year weeks.
The accommodations in this unit were awesome. Beyond our expectations. The unit was spacious and clean. The patio was amazing. We spent most of our time on the patio watching the sunsets and listening to the ocean sounds. We all enjoyed our vacation. Great R&R after the holidays. Thank you to the DeVores for sharing this bit of paradise with us. We look forward to returning soon.
My family and I had the most wonderful time in this beautiful beachfront condo. The building is a secure building, the condominium is an end condo which means you only have neighbors on one side. The view of the beach is to die for and the patio/porch was amazing. The unit is beautiful and exactly what we wanted. We were looking for a vacation spot without all of the commercialized rides and attractions that are so overwhelming at other locations. We needed just relaxation of the beach and swimming pool. Although, if attractions are what you like, this location is great since there are many attractions with a 20 mile radius.
I cannot say enough about the owner, Denise. Talked with her on several occasions and she went above and beyond any VRBO owner I have ever dealt with.
I WILL BE BOOKING THIS SAME CONDO OVER AND OVER AGAIN TO CREATE WONDERFUL MEMORIES WITH MY GRANDCHILDREN.
THANK YOU FOR SHARING SUCH A WONDERFUL PLACE!â€ïž
Our stay at The Rose was wonderful. The property is as pictured and described. The positives include: communication with owner was timely and Denise was responsive to issues as they came up. The air conditioning stopped working while we were there, but it was taken care of within a couple days. We needed extra towels and Denise had the housekeeping staff drop some off. As others have mentioned, there is no closet in the master bedroom, which was a minor issue. I also think some of the pillows are due for replacement. The beach is gorgeous and just out the door. The patio absolutely made the vacation for us. You have a spectacular view with comfortable seating and dining. Writers are correct in saying you cannot use the propane fireplace ; however, we placed 5-6 electric candles from the Dollar Store on the âfireâ table and the effect was beautiful. Hope we get the chance to stay again. Thanks, Denise!
We were very happy with the fact that it had a beautiful beach view, and a big patio to relax on, eat meals on throughout the day and watch the beautiful sunsets.
Unfortunately, the property didn't completely work for us.
As soon as we arrived, we noticed that the floors were comprised of very large and shiny tiles. They were a slip hazzard, especially any time the floors either in the inside or on the patio would become sandy or wet. We ended up having a few slip and falls and bunks on the head. Due to this, someone always had to watch over and walk after our daughter during our whole 2 week stay. Also, the entry way from the beach to the property entrance is also very slippery when wet. We also fell there a couple of times and saw other guests of the building fall too.
Another issue we had, just like another renter mentioned is that the conditioner unit stopped working properly to cool the unit. We waited a couple of days, thinking it would reregulate on its own, since arriving it was working, but it didn't. So we called the owner and she had someone come out after we reached out to her in about a day and a half. The air conditioner man mentioned there was a leak, they filled it and left. It could potentially be a problem for future renters as well since the cause of the leak wasn't fixed just filled in with fluid.
We also had 6 beach towels, when there were 8 of us staying. Said we would get some more, but never did.
Also had different workers a couple times come during our stay to do things at the property, so that caused a slight inconvenience.
Other than that, the views of the beach are great, and the pool is nice to have for rough ocean days.
Warning--take pictures of ANYTHING that is even slightly out of place in the house, as owners have blamed us for so much that we have not done. Iâm providing the list below so you can note for yourselves if you choose to stay here:
Here are all issues upon arrival
A painting above the fireplace has cracked glass.
A doorhandle to go outside in the master bed was screwed off.
The towel holder in the bathroom broke the very first time my husband pulled the towel off of it.
There was melted wax on the wood next to the TV.
Some of the decorative balls on the coffee table have become unwound.
The sink would not drain in the guest bathroom. We did contact the owner about this but they still tried to charge us for it.
The rug in the living room was disgusting.
Every pillow had large yellow drool stains all over it.
Sheets in the master were stained.
The air filter was absolutely grime-filled.
I had to sweep up about 15 or so tiny dead bugs on the right hand side of the fireplace.
The cleaner broke the kitchen sink drain and we were blamed. It was working when we left.
Here is all of what we had to purchase on our own during our stay
Air filters
Plumbing solution for the sink that would not drain
New pillows for all beds as the ones int he house were vomit-inducing.
Sheets for the master
A new broom because the ones that were there were useless with all of the sand.
Here is what we did mess up (things happen, right?):
My daughterâs pink shirt bled into the bath towels-- we replaced the two that we thought were bad-- we have been charged to replace 8.
I broke a Mikasa wave bowl-- I bought a replacement on my own and had it shipped to the condo. No one would have even noticed it was gone, but weâre decent people and we respect the places we visit. I've NEVER had an issue with anywhere we've been.
We also had the wrong checkout date in our head (silly us, I know), but we were out within the hour once we realized our mistake. The cleaner was able to start cleaning while we moved out, and she was really flexible and said she had plenty of time to clean multiple times.
There was also Red Tide during our stay, which meant dead fish all up and down the beach, all of us were coughing terribly, and my husband, we found out, is allergic to the toxin.
I guess we were pretty naive in shrugging our shoulders and handling things ourselves or considering things wear and tare of a rental property. It came back to bite us at the cost of $235. Unbelievable.
We had a wonderful 2 week visit and even the colder and windy days couldnât take away from the view. Kitchen is pretty well stocked with utensils, pans and dishes. The unit was nice and clean which we appreciated! There is an indoor fire place but not sure if itâs able to be used, I didnât ask but it would be good to know for the next time we visit if we have some chillier days. Maybe itâs electric or gas. The Patio is huge!! Once again weather didnât cooperate to use it much but next time! Denise was in touch and very sweet. We would recommend.
Loved having Xmas on the beach! Loved the patio. Great location! Only negative was neighbors above sending down ashes and candy onto the porch. Not a big deal. Nice coffee shop across the street! Someone set of super fireworks on New Year's Eve! We had fun,
We are very familiar with this area. The physical location of the unit is wonderful - close to great restaurants, the PIE airport, things to do, etc. Unfortunately, the pictures shown in the listing are dated and do not accurately reflect the current condition of the unit. It is in need of a thorough cleaning, minor repairs and replacement of broken/worn items. In addition, linens and towels need to be replaced. Items that are not disclosed in the listing: there is no closet in the master bedroom; while the deck/patio is huge and a great view, there is literally no privacy from other residents; the firepit shown cannot be used (we bought a propane tank and were informed by an unidentified resident that this was illegal). The listed "new sanitizing process" is not being followed. Money needs to be put into the property to bring it back up the "top notch elegant property" it may have once been.
This was our second year at The Rose and we had a marvelous two weeks. The condo is lovely, well kept and spacious and the huge patio overlooking the Gulf is an added bonus. The grounds and pool are well maintained and shopping and restaurants are close by. The gorgeous beach and Gulf waters gave us hours of swimming and fun in the sun. We are already checking our calendar for a return visit next summer. Thanks Deniseđ
We stayed at Denise and Bruceâs condo for three weeks and it was all we hoped for and more! The three bedroom unit is spacious, with enough room to both work and play. The best feature is the incredible, huge patio that overlooks the beach (the unit is practically on the beach) and allows for amazing sunset viewing - it became our daily ritual to hang out there. Thereâs a great coffee shop right across the street, with several restaurants close by. There are also many grocery stores within a couple miles. When we werenât walking on the beach, we also took advantage of the convenient local bus that traverses up and down Gulf Boulevard between the different beach communities. Denise was a pleasure to work with and so accommodating. We appreciated her having beach towels and chairs for our use and she was easily accessible to answer any of our questions. The Indian Shores community is very nice and an easy drive to St. Petersburg (we went there a couple of times and itâs great) and Clearwater. Overall, this was a fantastic getaway and we look forward to returning again!
The location is absolutely beautiful and is right on the beach! We felt at home right away. It had everything for a comfortable 2 week stay. Loved spending time on the patio too. Will definitely go back again! The host was very helpful in answering questions.
Bruce and Denise have been married for 43 years and have 3 grown children who are married to wonderful people and now have 6 grandchildren. 6 years ago we had no grandchildren...they keep on coming and we keep on loving them!! Bruce from Cochranton, Pa. and Denise from Locust Valley, New York.
This is our 2nd property in Indian Shores. Although our family resides in Canton, Ohio, We can't get enough of this area. Denise went to St Leo University back in the 70's and although living up North knew someday this would be where they would have a vacation home. She actully Graduated from University Of Buffalo. Bruce Graduated from Gannon University.
While looking for properties nothing seemed to jump out as exceptional..That is until we opened the front door of this beautiful property!! "This is for us," I thought..I just knew it!! Perfection....20 x 30 Patio on the Gulf..... I immediately felt that this is the place that we could share many memories here for years to come!
