Beautiful sunrise to a beautiful sunset. Breathtaking view of Lake Erie. Fully renovated with four bedrooms, living room and dining area full kitchen that has everything you need. A gas fire pit in the backyard facing towards the lake and I would fire pit in front of the house.

TERRIBLE! This was, without a doubt, the worst stay experience I’ve ever had. From the moment I stepped inside, I was assaulted by the overpowering stench of mold that seemed to cling to every surface. And that was just the beginning. Spider webs covered the corners and furniture, making it feel like no one had set foot in the cottage for ages. As if the mold and cobwebs weren’t enough, the bed sheets were filthy, and to top it off, when we tried to wash them ourselves, the washing machine didn’t even work! I’m genuinely baffled by the reviews this place has received. If you’re considering staying here, be warned—what looks charming online is a far cry from the reality.

Not quite as advertised

The cottage had saggy floors and what looked like mould around the tub in the bathroom. Grounds were not looked after, garbage laying around. The fire pit was unkept, chairs with stuffing hanging out of them. Overall we did not feel comfortable staying.

So dirty we had to leave

We arrived at this house excited about staying on Lake Erie. When we walked into the house, we were met with a smell like something had died. The house had no soap, towels or wash cloths. There was food in the fridge including open milk. There was a wet spot on the carpet in the living room. Fly traps hung from the ceiling in the living room with several bugs stuck to them. The sheets had bugs on them and visible dirt. It was like something from a horror movie. We stayed long enough to find another house 30 minutes away. I let the owner know we would not be staying there. He offered us a 70% refund, which we said we would appreciate, but it's been over a month and he has not responded when I've reached out again. DO NOT STAY HERE!

This property is very dirty, lawn and yard unkept neighbors house is a junkyard. We almost left right after arriving. The property has tons of potential and with some cleaning and maintenance would be passible but its current state is not good.

The host was very responsive and great to work with. The property location was terrific. Unfortunately, there was a mouse in the property. We noticed droppings and let the owner know. We also saw the mouse on three occasions--in the kitchen on the stove and running under the microwave and the counter. The host offered to return our cleaning fee.

This place has so much potential but it wasn't well looked after. My colleague's and I booked this place for an overnight stay back in May of this year. We chose this location as it was a cheaper alternative to getting multiple hotel rooms and the pictures on the site made it look appealing. The location was great and the view of the lake is breath taking. Unfortunately the property wasn't maintained as it looked in the photos. The lawn was overgrown and the buildings structure was a little questionable. It's clearly a property geared for quick rentals and seems to be more weathered than how it's displayed. I was hoping this might be a spot to plan a small family getaway for a another time if it went well but in it's current state I don't think my family would be comfortable staying for a duration. Overall the place has what you need for a nice getaway. Lots of space inside/outside, multiple bedrooms, and a large property by the lake. It definitely has potential for a nice getaway. It just needs more TCL than the current cover ups to help make it a repeat location to visit. The access to the property is a long bumpy road in that could easily be groomed to improve it. Communication from the property owner was pleasant and quick from my experience so they have that part working. Good job there. :) I think if you were to invest a little more into fixing up the structure of the building and keeping up the yard maintenance, you'd have a great spot for visitors.

The view is stunning, the area is very private. But this property lacks of cleanliness, we were shocked how the maintenance is not meeting the standard. Kitchen & fridge and washroom were dirty, sheets weren’t changed, coffee machine had mould. We kept hearing something moving around inside of the wall while we were sleeping, my kids refused to take shower during our stay. As someone else mentioned, no water access, it seems they used to have a long time ago (not working condition steps behind the property.) It has so much potential, too bad it’s kept the way it is.

It is a great view. It certainly is on a cliff. No access to the water. We had a raccoon came into the house at 1am! Pushed up thru the furnace duct. Terrified the kids as it came thru the bedroom! The host only communicates sporadically and hasn't come thru with the promised refund! The road off the highway is about 1/2 mile and deep potholes.

Gorgeous location, with porch and large back windows facing Lake Erie. Cozy place to listen to a wind storm blow past.

A beautiful cozy cottage on a quiet lane beside Lake Erie! Cottage had everything we needed for our stay, although we didn’t find the coffee maker!

Long weekend getaway

We stayed at this property for 2 nights for a short get away from the hustle of city life. We were really glad we chose this place. It had an amazing view of the lake and great spot to just relax and unwind. The house was well equipped with all the required household necessities. The host was also very responsive with any queries we had.
