Welcome to a small house with a big heart. This is a great place , in the middle of town. 20 minutes to Magic Moutain 20 minutes to Hollywood 20 minutes to Universal Studios 30 minutes to the beach
With shops and grocery stores walking distance this place is absolutely great. The house is secluded in the back with no one to bother you.
Our host was so friendly, let us in early using remote check-in process. We were free to come and go as we pleased and felt safe leaving our belongings. Had basic toiletries available and A/C unit was configurable. Internet and Roku TV were great for some late night entertainment. I think all we were missing was a mop as we like to walk with shoes off indoors.
There were 5 Prius' in the driveway and yard and NO parking fopr our vehicle. We had to park on the street in a sketchy neighborhood. The beds were uncomfortable and the patio furniture smelled like cats. Overall an uncommfortable stay.
Communication was good, but there were a few things that were not disclosed.1. this house is a back house, not a main house or the only house on the property.2. you have to park on the street, the driveway has multiple broken down looking Prius'A few things that could be improved:1. one of the couches had a hole in it, it could be repaired or covered.2. there weren't extra trash bags.3. there weren't extra towels. 4. there wasn't a complimentary book with directions 5. We couldn't figure out how to really use the TV in the living room, or the fan / air cooler in the kitchen/living room.6. the front door didn't feel secure.
The listing was misleadingâitâs a casita, not a house. It has two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a small kitchen/living area. My family and I visit LA often, and since our usual spot was unavailable, we ended up here. Let me be honest:
Price: Overpriced for what we got.
Location: 30 mins from Universal, near Mercado Buenos Aires.
Bathrooms:
âą Showers are small with cheap, overpowering toiletries. Water splashes everywhere, making the floor slippery.
âą Rust on the shower pipe, TP holder (visible in listing photos), and light fixtures. Tap water tastes metallic, so we used bottled water.
âą Toilets work fine.
Bedrooms: Uncomfortable beds, plenty of blankets, but terrible sleep. Decor feels like two bros just discovered curtains.
Living Room: The futon has holes and looks like a dog attacked it. My son had to sleep on the couch.
Kitchen: Found old pizza and milk in the fridge. We used our cooler instead.
Details: Smoke alarms are removed, a closet door has no knob, and some outlets donât work.
Weâre not picky travelers, and weâve stayed in modest casitas beforeâbut this is the worst place Iâve ever stayed, and I once shared a flooded Texas motel with two strangers.
