Welcome to Malbec Cabin, a stunning 3-bedroom, 3-bathroom retreat designed for comfort and relaxation. Nestled amidst the natural beauty of its surroundings, this cabin offers a tranquil escape for up to 7 guests.

Step inside and be greeted by a spacious living area. The open-concept design seamlessly connects the living room, dining area, and kitchen, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The cabin was very clean. The hot tub worked well and was clean. Supplies were on site such as toilet paper, soap, towels etc. the cabin is very isolated and we ran into issues as soon as we arrived because there was no welcome book or instructions for WiFi at the cabin. I couldn’t text the host because we didn’t know the password. We had to drive until we had reception and then access the VRBO app. The 3 beds were comfortable but the beds on the main level and loft areas were very squeaky and noisy. Also the sheets were super thin and blankets were not available for all the beds. I texted the host about the welcome book and blanket accessibility with no response. We tried to use the 2 fireplaces in the cabin and neither worked. I texted the host and the instructions he gave me didn’t work either. Again this should have been included in a welcome book. The host did send out a maintenance man who was able to get the downstairs fireplace working but not the main fireplace. The cabin is listed for 7 people and there were 6 of us. The dining room table AND the deck table only had 5 chairs for each of them. There were bar stools with no backs and the were too high to be comfortably used at the tables. I had texted the host before our stay about whether the coffee/tea maker was a Keurig. He responded that it was a coffee pot so we brought a Keurig. When we got there the cabin had a Keurig a regular coffee maker. The steps in this cabin were also very steep.

The cabin is gorgeous and located in a beautiful private setting. Close to Logan and all the Hocking Hills hikes. We enjoyed the wrap around porch, fire pit and charcoal grill. Inside is spacious and clean. Perfect for 3 couples or families as each group can have their own floor and bathroom. Communication with the host was prompt and check in and out were super easy. Definitely recommend!

This property is amazing. Secluded, quiet and quite peaceful. We hiked in the mornings and enjoyed the rest of the day at the cabin just relaxing. Exactly what we needed. We will book this property again.

It was a lovely house! The towels were plentiful and fluffy, beds were comfy, the kitchen had everything we needed. We especially liked having a bedroom and bathroom on all 3 floors which gave everyone space to relax if they needed time to themselves. The complete wrap around porch surrounded by woods, made coffee time special each day and enlarged the space. We appreciated all of the attention to detail to make it a wonderdul family time!

We needed more kitchen cloths to wash dishes and dry dishes! Garbage should be moved closer, I’m handicapped! Some complaints about no tv’s in the bedrooms! You need a nice ice maker in the cabin with small pellets! We did enjoy our stay!

Private Getaway Retreat

We booked this as a place to meet up with our son and his family. The location was fantastic. We were only 6 miles to town and approximately 10 miles to Hocking Hills State Park. The house was amazing and the privacy was perfect. We even had a mother deer and her fawn visit.

Super cute and clean cabin. We loved the location . Vey peaceful and quiet with no neighbors in view, it was exactly what we needed! We also were appreciative of all the “extras” that were there for us: paper towels, dish soap, sponges, toilet paper., and trash bags. It really makes a difference when preparing for a trip. The only suggestion would be to provide a gas grill.

The property was very beautiful. Very spacious and a nice quiet place deeper in the woods. I was a bit disappointed that the hot tub did not work, however the host accommodated me to make sure they made things right. Very quick communication once you contact the host. The WiFi worked pretty well. We will be planning another stay in the near future. Highly recommended!

Amazing Cabin

Malbec Cabin is in a wonderful location. It was clean, big, and absolutely amazing. I highly recommend this cabin and Book Hocking as well. The management here is top notch.

Great house and host

House was a great size and setup for the 3 couples that went on our trip. Minutes to everything, and great communication from the host. They were prompt to answer messages and ensure we had a great trip. Would definitely stay with this host again.

Beautiful cabin but issues with amenities & communication

Cabin is as pictured. Kitchen adequately well stocked for our 3 night stay. Only used upstairs bedroom as the ceiling fans were so dirty and the main bedroom one hung right over the bed with a piece of hair hanging from it. The sheets were thin and cheap, also felt like we were sleeping on a plastic cover. In all of our travels over the years it hasn’t been on our radar to check for bed bugs but now it will. Unfortunately, needless to say, the day we left I counted over 30 bed bug bites (confirmed by a Dr) on arms, legs, feet, back. The fireplaces wouldn’t work even though we could get the pilot light lit. Started communication with company via text through phone number provided. Lots of conflicting information from Book Hocking (as various people were replying without reading prior conversation) - “it’s shut off for season”, “we are reaching out to maintenance”, “here are the directions on how to start it”. After several hours of confusing communication we gave up out of frustration and the issue wasn’t resolved.I read several reviews mentioning hot tub issues. I messaged, before booking, asking if all the issues were resolved and was told that they were. Not true! Half the jets didn’t work, there was sediment in the tub and after waiting over 8hrs it didn’t get warm enoughto use. While waiting we had to sweep leaves and grass clippings on the back patio and around the hot. Unfortunately, all of the above took away from what could’ve been a great VRBO experience.
