Lake Whitney - Lake House - Walking Distance to the Lake
Relax with the whole family at this peaceful lake house. The house is in a quiet community and a short walk to lake access and Lake Whitney Marina. The house is also just minutes from McCown Valley park and Cedar Creek Park. Enjoy your time on the lake then relax at the house inside or outside in the screened porch or by the firepit.
Very clean, owner very accommodating. Little more rustic than picture. Neighborhood a typical lake community. Beds were very comfortable and plenty of hot water.
Me and my family had a wonderful stay. Very accommodating and very clean. Although it rained the majority of the time, the large screened in porch came in handy especially for some corn hole. The house is completely stocked with pots and pans, utensils, bowls, plates, etc. When we arrived, the fridge was completely cleaned out, so make sure to bring your own condiments. There is a coffee maker and coffee filters in the cabinet located above. The house is stocked with towels and blankets. When we first got there, we had a hard time locating the outside trashcan. After talking with the owner, we found it up against the fence at the neighbors driveway. Jupiterâs Cove is like a three minute drive from the house. Has swimming area and a boat ramp
Pros: Communication with owner, Master bedroom & bath (shower needs a good cleaning), Grill, fire pit, screened in porch, great kitchen appliances, parking for truck and boat, quiet and safe neighborhood.Cons:Home only has two bedrooms not three. There is a bed in the corner of living room next to a couch. No curtains/privacy (your glory and every step is on full display - making it especially uncomfortable at night when the lights are on).The AC didnât cool the second room making for a long, sweaty first night even with the extra fans we brought. Our married kids actually left a 5am the first night and commuted from Mansfield later Saturday and again SundayâŠnot a holiday vacay for them. The listed pair of kayaks were none existent. Not that the lake was close enough to portage, definitely need a truck bed. Note- the marina charges 10 per day to access the lake and it is about 10 minute walk.I let the owner know about the AC and even with his suggestion to close vents the back bedroom didnât cool down. Additionally, we dealt with several insect issues. Made owner aware and he was going to notify his maintenance man to spray outside on Sunday. Even with a good Clorox wipe down the ants were a steady stream in kitchen cupboards. Lots of expired food and condiments that need to be cleared out of the kitchen followed by a good scrubbing. Drugstore Beatles or something similar dropped from the ceiling while sitting on couch and stove. We checked out a day early.
Very quiet and peaceful. Favorites was the master shower and screened porch. Host was very helpful and friendly and easy to get in touch with. Would recommend. Very beautiful home!
