This house was peaceful and the river was beautiful. The yard was well cleared with big beautiful trees and a big fire pit. Plenty of space to unwind and relax in the mountains. Highly recommend for an outdoorsy family that wants all the privacy of camping but none of the hassle.
Very nice acomadations at the Lazy River Cabin on the Shenandoah. House was very roomy with a large screened in back porch.
Pros: Nice size rooms, quiet location right on the river, hot tub, no wifi, ac when needed (not much). Comfortable beds and furniture.
Cons: Upon arrival there was a trailer park ( 4 trailers) right next door, very close to the cabin (20 feet). The people in the trailers were nice & quiet but just did not expect them to be so close. Washer & Dryer was not available, locked in side room next to kitchen. Maybe we just needed to ask the owner for access?
Overall very nice experience would not hesitate to stay again.
Is really a nice quiet place where you can get away from it all.
We loved this property right on the Shenandoah River. There is plenty of quiet away from the hustle of town. The house is very cozy with plenty of space for a family with kids or a few couples. Host are friendly and flexible. Weâll be looking at staying again.
Love this place! Very secluded. Spent most of my time on the AMAZING font porch, listening to the river roll by. Great place to unplug. River is super close.
We were pleasantly surprised with this hidden gem. We arrived at night so it was a little difficult to located and service isnât great so the GPS cut in and out but all said and done it would have been worth getting lost for. The pictures do not do justice to the actual view. This is a must stay!!
Exactly what you think of when you say cabin on the river. So homey and so much bigger than we thought. My only upset was that the hot tub got a little stinky so we didnât end up getting to use it much.
Very happy with the location! Did not realize there were no sheets or towels but I did not see that when I booked. The Wallmart close by fixed that issue! Hot tub was great. That riverâŠ. Amazing view. Loved it!
The cabin was cozy and a lot bigger than I excepted. On chilly nights the screened porch is perfect! We wish we could have stayed longer. It was a much needed breath of fresh air.
This property was very nice and in a great spot to watch the river and fish. It was short drive into Luray for shopping and site seeing. We hope to stay here again.
We had a fantastic week here. Great location right on the water, the house and property were perfect for our school-she kids to have a little space of their own and plenty of room outside to explore. Good proximity to Luray (~20 mins) and Shenandoah National Park (~40 mins). An idyllic visit!
Les points faibles : Communication, emplacement, exactitude de lâannonce
A friendly head's up for potential renters ... may not be "private" or "peaceful" when you're there.
This property is described in the listing as being in a "private, country setting" and suggests you can reconnect with nature in the "peaceful outdoors." The photo of the cabin from the river shows a large empty lot to the left (facing), which sure makes it look private and peaceful. But potential renters be warned: When we arrived for check in, the vacant lot next door was filled by six (6) RVs and a variety of cars, trucks, and trailers. Music blaring, folks walking through the property we had rented. We chose not to stay. Never opened the door to the cabin. (VRBO Review system required me to list a rating for cleanliness and check-in process, so I gave a middle rating.) The owner did refund 1/2 of our $$, but we lost the other half and had no family getaway. VRBO did not feel that the owner's listing vs. our experience met their criteria for being misleading, so they will not advocate on our behalf. The owner's response was, "I donât own the lot beside me , I never know what neighbors can do." When I challenged that, suggesting that he had to know this happens, he wrote, "Nobody has been on that lot all summer. They most have just showed up" and "The lot next to us is seldom used or inhabited enabling us to accurately describe our property as a private country setting." I just don't buy that -- those campers were parked in there in perfect order to ensure as many could fit as possible and those renters had their neighborhood set up like professionals (clothes line, seating areas, etc.). Bottom line: The listing should be updated to note that the lot next door is vacant (no dwelling) and is sometimes used as a multi-family/multi-camper campsite.
The cabins location was perfect ease of putting a canoe in and the house was clean , the only things I felt were negative the hot tub is old and has very little pressure and the room we stayed in the bed was extremely hard.
This cabin was much more impressive in person then in pictures. I was surprised at how much bigger the cabin was than I expected. There was more than enough room for my family of 4 and could easily support 2 families. The cabin was clean and comfortable. The swing in the screened in porch was the perfect spot to have my morning coffee and watch the geese and ducks play in the river. Being steps away from fishing was awesome and provided hours of fun. It's so close to downtown and shopping as well as the caverns, and other local attractions. We enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this place to others!
The pictures really don't do justice to how beautiful the location is! Fantastic views everywhere you look! The house is very spacious and well maintained. We loved the large enclosed porch and even though we didn't get to use the hot tub, it looks nice. The only thing I missed was total privacy since we were close to 2 other houses, but that seems to be the case for any cabins on the river. Also if you plan on doing lots of cooking, we noticed there was a lack of decent cutting knives and we couldn't find any baking sheets! Overall though, the beds were great, there's a huge bathroom and plenty of space in the living room for several people to watch TV/movies at once. We also had fun making smores by the fire pit in the yard! Simply a lovely location and house!!
Our time at Mid-River Dream was absolutely wonderful! The cabin was very clean and spacious. The kitchen was well stocked. The cabin was better than the photos and description showed. It was located right along the river and was very easy to put in our kayaks. The fire pit was perfect to make smores! The screeened in porch with the hot tub was well used at the end of each evening. I can't think of a better vacation that we have ever had! We will definitely be back.
