The place was nice and clean. The river was a little further away than the picture lead on. Had trouble with key code, had tocall in for correct code. Nice, quite, and she loved the hot tub.
Nice place for a weekend getaway. A/C wasnât working too well so I recommend bringing a fan! Other than that, it was a great place and was nice to enjoy the river.
I had a great stayed and the cabin had a lot of the things needed to make you feel at home. The hot tub and the views were fantastic. Iâm looking forward to coming back in the fall or summer. I highly recommend it.
Great cozy little cabin about 20 minutes from Luray Caverns. We had a great time and we would definitely recommend, particularly if just a couple but a few things to be aware of: - This is up in mountains with a lot of ups, downs and turns with the last 2 miles before reaching the cabin are on an unpaved (although well maintained) road. If you are visiting in the winter, I would highly suggested having 4WD.- This is not really a 2BD, there is one dedicated bedroom that has a full size bed with a half size (twin?) bunkbed above it. The main room that you enter into which has a small kitchen area, small dining table, TV and Futon serves as the '2nd Bedroom'. The bathroom is only accessible from the actual bedroom. Also, while I never have high expectations for a futon mattress, this one has very noticeable springs when sitting on it.- The grill is one of the ones you frequently find in a park setting, a fixed in place grill that is not covered.- I had no cell service (AT&T), but my partner had did (Google Fi). This did not bother me much since I was not trying to be on my phone all day at the Cabin, but keep in mind that you may not be able to access the internet or make calls while at the cabin (there is no wifi). All in all, none of these things took away from our experience and we were very happy, but figured we would let others know so they can make sure it works for them.
We had a good time at the cabin. It was cozy and remote so we enjoyed some great stargazing. It was pretty far from the attractions in the area, but very conveniently located near the river and very close to the canoeing outfitters if you're interested in water activities. It took about an hour to drive to Shenandoah National Park.
Make sure you download any maps or other useful info about how to check into the cabin before you arrive, because there's no cell service in the cabin or in the surrounding radius for a few miles. Also, be prepared to bring your own amenities as the cabin was not very well stocked on some basic supplies including towels, extra trash bags, and kitchen basics like aluminum foil or ziploc bags. There's also not an oven in the kitchen but the stove and microwave/fridge were great to use for cooking.
Lastly, the cabin was the perfect size for a weekend getaway with 2 people. But for a larger group, especially if you have more than 4 people, it would definitely be a very tight squeeze.
The cabin is small, but it was very clean and comfortable. The huge yard was mowed and great to sit in by the fire in the evenings. Only thing that would make it better is if you could see the river!
I had stayed at this cabin before once and I was excited that it was available for our anniversary. The cabins are adorable and just the perfect size. They are located at a perfect spot out by the Shenandoah river. Big size lot with trees, fire pits, grill, and a nice hot tub to relax in. They supply all the basic essentials you will need at the cabin. The cabin is easy to drive to, and the process to check in is simple and easy. One day when we went canoeing down the Shenandoah River, we were able to stop by the cabin because it was on the route down the river. So we really liked being able to make a pit stop at the cabin on the canoeing journey. Great choice to put these cabins at. They are also affordable for a great price. The cabins are well kept and clean as well. I highly recommend these cabins for guests!
We stayed for an extended weekend for an unplugged birthday celebration. Beautiful setting, great hot tub, and easy access to river and town. Great check in and check out process. Would love to stay again!
Pros- location, fast response from staff
Cons-smelled like sewage after flushing the toilet, was not the cleanest, no reception, cable or WiFi, remotes were missing batteries, you have to drive your garbage 11 minutes up the road. Dumpsters were full. Bunk beds were small and pull out bed was very uncomfortable.
