If you are a hiker this location is perfect for the Thortan Gap entrance to the Shenandoah National Park. Maryâs rock was a beautiful hike, Dark hollow falls and Stoney Man are all close by. House meets your needs for an easy weekend getaway totally unplugged. No WiFi.
We enjoyed recharging our batteries with our weekend at the lodge. Beautiful home and views. We loved sitting at the firepit catching up with our dear friends who came along with us. Lots of fresh air and laughter. If you need a get away, I highly recommend this home.
The property is very spacious and beautifully designed. The sunsets and night star gazing were a few of our favorite views. We were able to bring our cats and they had the time of their lives exploring around the few rooms they had access to. This was the most relaxing and amazing trip we have had. I highly recommend this cabin. We will be returning with our son next year.
Very quiet, itâs a shared driveway, but you wouldnât know once youâre there. Itâs very secluded but also close to some great places. The hot tub was amazing, and a very cozy place for our honeymoon.
Great cabin with a beautiful view, hot tub, and river access! We drove down to another spot that was easier to access the river, but loved our stay in the lodge! We hope to book again in the future! No complaints other than the steep walk down to the river from the house. đ
We had such an amazing time. The lodge is gorgeous and super clean. The view is just⊠wow. We were able and approved to bring our dogs which was very important for me. We set up their crates with protective floor padding under, the cabin has wood floors, so I wanted to make sure all was safe.
Remember to bring your bedding and towels, including hand and dish towels, too.
Walmart and Food Lion are super close as well as the Caverns and other museums with fun gift shops. Have a fun and relaxing time!
Thank you!
We enjoyed our stay in Luray Virginia. Especially love the wraparound deck and view from it. Just remember to bring your own towels and bedsheets and remember the house does not have a Wi-Fi connection.
This is a charming log cabin. It had all the essentials and the views are amazing. I would love to come back in the Spring! Great place to get away and relax.
I stayed at this property with a small group of friends this past weekend. The view is breathtaking! We were please with the cleanliness of the lodge as well. The kitchen had everything we needed. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. We really enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub on the first night!
Thank you for the wonderful weekend!!

The Foggy River Lodge was perfect for our 4-night get away. The house had everything we needed and we especially enjoyed the hot tub. Attractions, restaurants, and grocery stories are nearby but the property is very secluded and the hosts give you complete privacy. Our Golden retrieve was very comfortable here and we didn't have to worry about her wondering off or bothering anyone.
Our stay was great! Great location just down the road from the caverns. We were very impressed with the cleanliness, owners clearly sanitize after every guest!
We loved this rental! Feels very secluded and private yet youâre close to all the area attractions. The house is spacious and clean. Just know that there is no soundproofing in the house so you will hear everything going on in all the rooms if youâre a light sleeper. The river is not easily accessed which was good for us because we wouldnât have been able to keep our dog out of it if he could see it. We would have been content to just sit on the wrap around porch and take in the amazing views, especially in the early morning with the fog in the valley. The owners were very easy to communicate with but never intrusive.
We arrived and got a little confused about where we were going and a quick call to the property owner got us to the correct cabin immediately. The view from the wrap around porch was amazing. The porch was so big that we were able to set up cornhole to pass some time on a rainy Saturday. We fished, fed the horse, enjoyed the firepit and hot tub, and drove a short distance for some hiking. One night we set up a projector outside and watched a movie under the stars. This is a great property and I can't wait to go back! Thank you!
This was a fairly late choice since we couldn't travel internationally as planned. So glad we found this beautiful property! The Lodge was fantastic; all the comforts of home with rustic charm. Even with all the nearby attractions and parks to experience, we looked forward to returning "home" every day. Our pup especially loved being able to roam free and check in on the horses. The wildlife was entertainment in itself and falling asleep to the sounds of frogs was a treat. Patricia provided all the information we needed ahead of time so we settled in quickly. We are already looking forward to returning!
Harry and Patricia Price are the owners of the Foggy River Cabins. The Foggy River Cabin was first owned by Harry on his family's 65 acre farm. While in the process of building the Foggy River Lodge, he met Patricia. Two years later, they were married in front of the Lodge. Together, they later built the Foggy River Chalet. Both were born and raised in Luray.
