This was a perfect place for our family to stay while visiting our son at college in the area. The host was very communicative and everything that we needed was provided. We would definitely stay again if we visit the area again.
Mary Gayle was a wonderful and responsive host! She recommended restaurants nearby. The house is beautiful, comfortable and so relaxing! She even met is at the door with matches and newspapers accommodating our request to build a campfire in the fire pit. We relaxed as a family under the stars on this peaceful, quiet property. It was a wonderful fall weekend and we hope to return again!
Perfect place to unwind before during and after LU Graduation
This is the place to stay. Let's say it is a home away from home. The best place to stay for a Liberty Graduation . My husband daughter and I love this place. We were away from the hustle and bustle and felt like we were coming home. A short 20-minute drive to LU. The property was a pleasure to take walks and great pictures. Who knows maybe you will score a picture on the riding lawnmower! lol Mary Gayle was the prefect host and we enjoyed our stay and look forward to coming back again.
Thank you Mary Gayle we had the BEST stay!!
The area was remote and quiet. The cottage was comforable and made you feel at home. We were busy visiting our son at college so we returned too late in the day to vusit with the owners.
Working for a travel agency I do have to mention that there were a few simple general maintenance items that needed to be addressed, but we are sure will be tajen care if quickly.
This cottage was a very vintage, adorable, and peaceful place to stay for the weekend. The property and views were beautiful. The owner was very friendly and easy to reach. The only complaint I would have is the hot water barely got warm during our stay. She did say the hot water heater was recently replaced. So, it may just need a temp adjustment. Otherwise, I would definitely recommend.
I am Mary Gayle, I go by my double name (thoâ nobody seems to want to use it). I grew up at Green Hill, went to college, married my high school sweetheart, had 2 beautiful daughters and lived not far away. I inherited my home when my parents died and I now spend much time âkeeping up the placeâ. I enjoy entertaining and making my home welcoming and comfortable for my family and guests. My husband and I are both retired from teaching. We travel a great deal and just returned from France in June. My mother said I should have been named Mary Go. I hope you enjoy our guest cottage and property as much as we do.
My guests say they enjoy the song birds in the morning, the quiet rural setting and the relaxing atmosphere. For me, the mountain, High Peak. Is the highlight.
Green Hill is not far from civilization! You will note in the description the attractions nearby. You can enjoy pretty drives to wineries, breweries, historic attractions, mountain scenery such as the Blue Ridge Parkway.
