Leucadia Bungalows compound is a dream come true for friends and family seeking a cozy getaway. With four charming 2-bedroom bungalows, each named after a local beach, you’ll find the perfect place to relax and unwind. “Moonlight” and “Beacons” are both 2-bedroom and 2-bath bungalows, while “Grandview” and “Ponto” provide a similar setup with 2-bedrooms and 1-bathroom.
Our friendly team, led by Airbnb_Superhost Keith Clarke and Vrbo_Premier Partner Stacey Peterson, are dedicated to ensuring your stay is nothing short of exceptional. We’ve taken great care to create a truly memorable experience, with high-end West Elm furnishings throughout and thoughtful additions like YouTube TV streaming services and fast, reliable fibre internet for those who need to work from home.
The “Moonlight” Leucadia Bungalow is the ideal place to unwind and escape to the beautiful coast. The kitchen is fully stocked with all the essentials, plus some special treats for coffee enthusiasts like a K-cup Personal Coffee Maker, a French press, a bean grinder, and a Nespresso Mini for a quick morning pick-me-up. To make your stay even more enjoyable, we’ve included a BBQ grill just off the kitchen, a private, fully fenced-in backyard with lush grass complete with patio furniture. Additionally, there is an individual enclosed laundry room with a stacked washer and dryer. Both bedrooms are equipped with comfortable Casper mattresses, and the primary bedroom features a king-size bed, a flat-screen smart TV, and a small desktop for your laptop. The guest room has two twin-sized beds, and the main living space includes a queen sofa sleeper (available on request for a small fee). All laundry, bathroom, and kitchen amenities are included. Electric car charging available onsite for an additional hourly fee.
And for those who want to experience Leucadia like a local, we’ve provided all the beach gear and equipment you’ll need, including boogie boards, beach towels, beach toys, a surfboard, a beach umbrella, drink cooler and more all stored in a personal outdoor sports shed. Lastly, we’ve included a community outdoor shower right near the center of the compound where you can wash off after a day at the beach, and you can even bring your furry friends along!

This house is located on a quiet street, a short stroll from the heart of Leucadia’s many restaurants, cafes, boutiques, yoga studios, salons, wine bars, plus great surfing and beautiful beaches!
You can also catch the nearby Coaster to explore downtown San Diego for the day. A short drive away you can hike the bluffs overlooking the ocean at nearby Torrey Pines Reserve, catch the thrill of the world-renowned Del Mar Racetracks, snorkel in gorgeous La Jolla Cove, or take in a Padre game after a long day on the beach.

Guest access
Sleeps up to five on approval. One king-size bed, two twin beds, and a sofa which we can provide bedding upon check in for an additional $20/night fee. Guests have the entire bungalow to themselves along with a private fenced in yard. Yale keyless door entry coded uniquely to each guest.
Interaction with guests
We like to have our customer service leader Stacey Peterson meet all guests upon check-in and give a tour of the property. Managing partner Keith Clarke lives a short drive away and is always available via phone or text. If you find that the home seems to be missing something that you’ll need during your stay, please don’t hesitate to ask. We’re happy to accommodate requests. This home is our happy place and we’re sure it’ll soon be yours, too!
Other details to note
* Enjoy a 10% discount on your stay if it spans 7 nights or more.
* Enjoy a 17% discount on your stay of 30 nights or more.
* The Encinitas occupancy tax, which is 10%, is waived for stays of 31 nights or longer.
* There’s a $100 pet fee for the additional cleaning that’s required for all stays that include any kind of dog. Please refer to the policy for more details.
* There’s an additional $20/night fee for the 5th guest, covering the wear and tear on the bungalow and sofa bedding that will be provided upon check-in.
* Stays longer than 21 nights necessitate a thorough cleaning approximately every two weeks. We will charge for the extra cleaning(s) and, if applicable, pet fees after the reservation is confirmed.
PET POLICY
We love dogs, and our policy is really pretty simple. If you are bringing a dog(s) we need them to be crated if left alone. If you don’t have a crate, we have ones you can use. We understand if your furry family members can’t stay off the sofa or bed; we do have special sofa blankets and/or beach towels to protect the furniture. We try our best to accommodate all our guests and can’t have dogs directly on the furniture as it’s unhygienic for others who might be more sensitive. We also incur extra cleaning fees to prepare for our next guests. Cleanliness and sanitation are very important standards to our overall business. For this, we do require an additional pet cleaning fee. Finally, we expect our guests to pick up any dog waste daily in the yards and rinse down the area where the waste was picked up.
CITY PERMIT DETAILS
City of Encinitas Permit RNTL-020406-2022. We expect our guests to keep noise down to a minimum as this house is located in a residential neighborhood and quiet times are from 10pm to 7am. We have a maximum overnight occupancy of 5 guests. Maximum of two parking spaces, one in the private covered carport and the other along side the fence. Trash is picked up on Monday mornings and all trash and recycle goods should be placed in the containers by Sunday night as pickup is usually very early.
CLEANING POLICY
Hey there! Here’s a quick rundown of how we make sure your bungalow is spotless and ready for you.
We’re a bit of a neat freak crew, and we take pride in giving you the best possible experience. Here’s what we do to prepare the bungalow for your arrival:
First things first, we let in the fresh coastal breeze! We leave windows and doors open for a few hours so the air can flow in while we get to work cleaning. In addition to our regular routine, we disinfect all high-traffic surfaces too.
Every single bed linen piece (even mattress pads, pillow protectors, duvet covers, and blankets!) is always laundered between uses. And don’t worry, all bath linens (shower curtains and bathmats too!) are laundered between visits to keep things extra fresh.
We know what you’re thinking: our cleaning fee might seem a bit steep. We totally get it, and we’re here to break it down for you.
Our crews—from the family that cleans the living space to our partners who tackle laundry—are all paid fairly. We believe that hard work deserves an honest living!
To get into the nitty-gritty, we usually spend around 15 hours readying the space and laundering the linens (all 10 loads of them, as detailed above).
Here’s the thing: what you see and pay for is what you get. We want you to feel right at home each and every time you visit the bungalows, and a spotless space is essential to that experience.
Your cleaning fee helps us pay our professional crews and keeps our high sanitation standards up. So, thank you for helping us make the bungalows your favorite clean and cozy getaway spot!
Oh, and just a heads up, our cancellation policy for longer-term stays is different than what’s published on the booking site. If your reservation is longer than 15 nights, please note our modified policy below.
REFUND POLICY
Stays Less Than 15 Nights:
- Cancellations with More Than 30 Days’ Notice: Full refund.
- Cancellations Between 30 Days and 14 Days Before Check-In: Partial refund (50%).
- Cancellations Less Than 14 Days Before Check-In: No refund.
Stays Between 15 and 32 Nights:
- Cancellations with More Than 60 Days’ Notice: Full refund.
- Cancellations Between 60 Days and 30 Days Before Check-In: Partial refund (50%).
- Cancellations Less Than 30 Days Before Check-In: No refund.
Stays Over 32 Nights:
- Cancellations with More Than 120 Days’ Notice: Full refund.
- Cancellations Between 120 Days and 90 Days Before Check-In: Partial refund (75%).
- Cancellations Between 90 Days and 60 Days Before Check-In: Partial refund (50%).
- Cancellations Between 60 Days and 30 Days Before Check-In: Partial refund (25%).
- Cancellations Less Than 30 Days Before Check-In: No refund.
Events Outside Our Control:
If you need to cancel within the “no refund” window, we will refund all cleaning fees and occupancy tax if collected. Additionally, we will attempt to re-rent the property and refund you at your nightly discounted rate for all the nights we are able to rent.
