Great home, very cozy, the house felt right at home. Its got everything you need. From pots and pans to comfy beds I mean everything. Very clean and well equipped. Extremely sattisfied! Price is great. Even the neighbors are cool! Higly recommend. Will definitely come back.

Nice layout. Very clean and convenient. Floor needs some work. There was a slight odor, vinegar? Not sure. Overall it was a hat we needed.

Quick getaway

Property is as listed.. communication with the host was a plus.. it is an older home.. the bathrooms have been remodeled..water pressure was good.. we didn’t try the back yard.. it rained most of the week we were there.. they had extra futon mattresses..there was parking for five vehicles, two in the garage and three in front of the garage.. neighborhood was quiet and neighbors were friendly.

Cozy in a quiet neighborhood

This home was just as it looks in the listing. It was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed for our trip. The communication from the host received quick replies, and the entry information was sent well in advance of our check in. Although there are some cosmetic issues as mentioned in previous reviews, it did not effect our stay. I did not experience any of the other issues mentioned in previous reviews. The toilets and outlets worked just fine, the AC was on with no issues and we were all very comfortable. This home was convenient to JBSA and the airport.

The property owner is fairly quick to respond which is a plus. The beds were very comfortable the kitchen and living room were nice. Overall, the house was a nice setup. It does need some cosmetic touch ups. We also had difficulty with one of the toilets not flushing right and the kitchen chairs were flimsy. Owner offered to find a plumber, but not much could be done due to it being a holiday. They were accomadating regarding us having to bring a small dog on short notice due to family medical issues. Just a reminder they have a strict NO PET policy.

Electrical issues

I want to say that my communication with the property owners was good. The owners were prompt respond to questions and try to resolve from afar. Stayed 3 nights two of which were cold due to a cool front pushing through. The HVAC unit kept tripping a breaker. No heat made our stay miserable. The furniture was uncomfortable. As to cleanliness I rate it low as there was a old french fry under one of the twin beds.

Good and Bad

We stayed at this property in Jan 23.. Overall, it met our needs , there were 4 adults and we had plenty of space. The long kitchen counter came in handy and we used the family room in evenings to watch tv and talk.. The neighborhood street was quiet and we had no issies there. When we rented this property, the listing boasted the words, "Sparkly clean!" We wouldnt give it a 5 star rating based on cleanliness for a few reasons: To us, it seemed the cleaner was in a real hurry or didnt care...the kitchen trash bag was full of garbage, the kuerig coffee pot water dispenser was not clean at all, there was food remains in one of the bedrooms and our sheets had some hair on them...so instead of complaining too much, and since there were cleaning supplies there and laundry machines, we spent the first evening washing sheets and towels , vacuuming, and washing the appliances and dishes so we could feel good about using them. The house just needs some TLC.. we ended up having to call Austin, property manager, who was very responsive, and sent out a maintenance guy (very nice!) To fix the hall toilet that would not flush with handle...and to fix the towlbar that kept falling off wall. We also tried to have him fix the outlets that wouldnt work, but he couldnt. A few hours after he left, thetoilet stopped flushing again..we also changed out lightbulbs on our own that were burned out. Back yard is big and nice but needs cleaning up...couldn't sit outside- too dirty.

The property was well suited for our stay. There were several issues that I believe could have been avoided if some preventive maintenance had been performed. 1) Although the HVAC system probably worked to cool the house, because the nights were cooler than normal, I tried running the system in the heater mode and it failed to work. Since it was not possible to have a technician address this in short order, we were immediately provided with a small room heater. Because the temperature in the house was 5 degrees warmer on the following nights, we were able to get by withouf additional heat. 2) The smoke detector was beeping upon arrival and continued through the first night. This was immediately corrected after reported. 3) The coffee maker would not work but, again, it was immediately replaced when reported. 4) When I went to take a shower, the shower curtain a rod fell. I was able to put the expansion rod back in place. The type of support used is likely to result in the curtain falling again. 5) when leaving at the end of my stay, I attempted to lock the door but the keyless lock did not work. I had to report to Vrbo Customer Service that the house remained unlocked. If this had occurred earlier during my stay, I would have had no way to secure my belongings. Finally, when checking the area before leaving, I found three used socks and a plastic cup under one of the beds that had been left by the previous occupants.

My overall impression of this property was just okay. The listing is close to JBSA-Lackland, which was helpful to us. It had plenty of rooms and bedrooms. We had a few small problems with the place. I had to email the owner to prompt an email for the door code past the check-in time. Not a huge deal, but it would have been nice for them to be more proactive. The toilet between the bedrooms did not properly flush - it needs a new handle. A really cheap and easy fix, but really annoying to flush by lifting the toilet lid. None of the outlets in either bathroom worked. So there was only one location to plug in a device in front of a mirror - and that was in the master bedroom. There were some floor repairs that should probably be addressed. There appears to have been some water damage and there were quite a few thresholds missing. The outside could have used a really quick leaf blower, it is winter so I understand that. But there were also giant branches on the side of the garage that were waiting for someone to take care of. My gut tells me that perhaps the house is owned by military that doesn't live nearby, but that it just a guess. If that's the case, I'm giving them some grace because managing a property from a distance is difficult. But I really feel that it could use a bit of TLC. It was mostly clean, spacious, well appointed kitchen, and close to base. The price was right but for a few dollars fix, it would have been nice to have two working toilets.

Great Host

Throughout our travel plan process the host was accommodating to our date change request. The Air Force theme was very nice given our reason for visiting. Location was convenient to Lackland.

Overall Good Experience

The house is definitely being remodeled or it seems that way, bathrooms are updated as well as the floors. Backyard area could use a little cleaning. Beds are okay not the best but will do for 1-2 nights. Overall the furniture; sofa, chairs and mattress need an upgrade but they work for the time being. Overall the house seemed clean. Great location, nearby to many restaurants and stores.

I would absolutely rent this house again. It is super clean and has a great open space. I normally have "issues" with staying in other places (due to cleanliness) , but I was completely comfortable. The location was also great for our stay to visit the base.

The property has been remodeled. It’s cute and comfortable. The best part is the location. It’s on a quiet street directly across from a park. It’s very close to Sea World and restaurants!

Nice stay for Lackland AFB Event

This home is convenient to many areas, one being Lackland AFB, which we visited during our son’s graduation. We were able to bring him “home” for an afternoon and relax and enjoy time together without a long drive to worry about. We also went to Sea World, which is literally 10 minutes away. Downtown San Antonio is also easy to get to. The home itself is clean and as described in the photos. There are some minor wear and tear things that could be addressed, but overall, a nice place to stay. The area seemed safe and people could always be seen enjoying the nearby duck pond/park. Check in and out was simple. I would stay here again.

Perfect for our needs

This owner was very responsive to all our needs. The street is slightly run-down but the park is beautiful! We were going to events at JBSA and it was farther then I would have liked to travel but that was my error. Owner quickly responded to all questions and the house totally met our needs. You won’t be disappointed if you are needing a place close to Lackland!
