Historic Retreat – Silk Stocking District
This charming island getaway property awaits your next visit to Galveston. The historic home survived the 1900 floods and is in the Silk-Stocking District where you can catch the trolley that runs in front of the property for a quick trolley ride to the shopping, dining and entertainment venues of The Strand. It is also only a short walk to the public access beaches. Perfectly situated for visitors to enjoy the Galveston vibe, this rental is the getaway destination that you have been searching for.
The home can sleep 12 comfortably and has a large backyard for entertaining. While there, you can enjoy the many upscale amenities of the home. The fenced yard includes a pool and seating for 16 people to provide comfort and privacy while you enjoy the serenity of the Gulf breezes. Or relax after your day’s adventures on the home’s balconies and porch swing while watching the famous Galveston Street life. During festival time, parades pass right in front of the property and can be viewed from the balconies. Indoors, each room contains a smart TV and there is Wi-Fi throughout the house to entertain kids of all ages. The fully equipped kitchen provides all the necessary utensils and cookware to create meals or entertain guests, and the built-in bar has all that is needed to enjoy a bottle of wine or your favorite beverage while celebrating your stay, including a blender for cocktails and a Keurig coffee maker.
The space:
The home welcomes you with a porch entry complete with swing. The doors have keyless entries, which are coded uniquely for each rental. There is private, gated parking for 2 vehicles upon request.
First floor:
This floor offers a family room with seating for 7 and plenty of room for games or relaxing in front of the TV. It also offers a dining room with the ability to have a sit down gathering for at least 6 people and a bar in the kitchen for 4 more.
The kitchen offers plenty of room to cook for family or for guests and has a built-in bar with two wine coolers, blender, and wine opener to enhance your dining experience.
Second floor:
This floor has three bedrooms, each outfitted with a television to enjoy those late-night shows. The master bedroom offers a king-sized bed, a sofa for socializing, and an ensuite with a private balcony. The second bedroom offers a queen-sized bed with a chair and bathroom access and access to the balcony overlooking the main street. The third bedroom offers two full size beds with a chair.
AIRPORT – William P. Hobby International Airport is approximately 40 minutes away from this property.
Parking:
There is free parking on 25th street and parking for two vehicles behind the house upon request.
Other things to note:
Age – Guest renters must be over 24 years old.
Pets – Pets will be allowed based on prior approval with a $75 daily fee for one and $50 for any additional pets
Occupancy – The home will comfortably sleep 12 people – based on double occupancy in the beds.
Security / Camera – There are cameras on the outside front of the home and a camera in back to monitor the gate and back fence. The cameras are not focused upon internal activities and are used to monitor the parking area and the rear fence for your safety while using the property. We are happy to provide access to the video capture to address any privacy concerns.
Smoking – Smoking and e-cigarettes are not allowed inside the house. Please be considerate and place any trash in the outside trash can provided on the back deck.
Pool – The pool is provided as is for the use of the renters; the owners are not responsible for activity in or around the pool. Lifeguards are not provided, and all activity is at your own risk.
Renters recognize and understand that use of the Pool involves certain risks. Those risks include, but are not limited to, the risk of injury resulting from possible malfunction of the equipment used in the pool and injuries resulting from tripping or falling over obstacles in the pool area.
The renter agrees to release owner from all liability for any loss, damage, injury or expense that renters may suffer resulting from using the pool due to any cause whatsoever. When booking you are agreeing that you understand and waive any right to hold owner liable.
Outdoor grill – There is an outdoor grill for your use. Please make certain it is shut off and closed before you leave, so that future renters can continue to enjoy its use as well.
Trash – Please place all trash at the end of your trip on the back porch in the provided trash can.
Garbage disposal – Please do not place large amounts of food down the disposal, as it is only meant for small bits and scraps; place larger items in the trash can.
Front balconies – Please enjoy the swing and chair. This is a great area to see parades and just relax on a return from an entertaining night out.
Upper Rear balcony – Please enjoy the tranquility of the private balcony for relaxation and enjoyment of your surroundings. It is located outside of the master bath and gives a view of the backyard and tranquility of the neighborhood.
Check in / Check out – Check in is at 4 pm and check out is at 11 am unless prior arrangements are made.
Miscellaneous – There is a highchair and pack-n-play for young children, and a wagon. There is a washer/dryer available in the home. The home has whole house Bluetooth capability speakers.
