Olivette was built in 1886 and is a comfortable cottage that sleeps 5. While very historic, Olivette is a cute, bright, colorful home. Itâs mid-town, just a short drive to the Strand or the beach. Or, you could just stay at Olivette - itâs the perfect oasis! Thereâs a front porch with rocking chairs, perfect for morning coffee or evening drinks. Our sparkling pool and patio are very private and cozy. We have high speed WiFi, satellite TV, and a fully equipped kitchen.
Just the right size for my wife, myself, and our little dog. Very clean and stylish cottage, and we loved the private pool! Close to the beach and historic downtown. The host was amazing! Highly recommended.
We love this little place! A private pool makes it perfect for us. We have stayed there twice and will stay again. Location is central and quiet.A couple of hiccups, check in was not communicated until we contacted manager and was told we would have to wait another half hour to access the house. Not a big deal but a little inconvenient.Pool had quite a bit of debris and sand but we just scooped that out ourselves. As stated before we will be coming back to this little oasis!
We were thrilled with the house, beautifully decorated with everything you need for a relaxing, restful stay hanging out by the pool within walking distance of some cute restaurants. Turn the Victrola on with some of the records there and youâre taken back to an earlier, simpler time! Will definitely plan to be back!
No check in instructions, had to call owner twice to receive check in instructions. Upon arrival someone was cleaning the pool, and shocked it with chemicals, telling us we shouldn't swim in it for a few hours... We got a second opinion from a maintenance man (who had to come over because the oven was broken) and were then told not to swim for the rest of the day - which was our entire reason for booking this property. Oven was 2nd whole reason we wanted a home, to bake together, and it was broken upon arrival but we didn't know/weren't told. Photos do portray the house properly per se, but in reality the windows have moss growing on them from the humidity, we cleaned the floors before cooking and our paper towels were jet black from previous dirt, and the lint traps of the laundry facilities hadn't been cleaned in a long time - they were full of pet hair and lint. Overall just wasn't wowed with what I thought I was getting VS what I got. It's a rental that sleeps five, we came in 3 cars, and the neighbors sternly asked me to move our cars (we were not blocking his property) as if he had no idea this home was for short term rentals. Maintenance came twice throughout my stay and the second time they smelt of cigarettes so aggressively that we got headaches and felt a bit unsafe as we are all young women. A pro of the property is that the owner is very responsive and kind, but too many issues to have made our stay anywhere near worth what we sadly paid for this rental.
