We love the high point south just not this unit. The AC unit in the living room blows hot air, the handle and the screen was broke when we arrived to go out to the balcony. It wasnât very clean when we arrived. The furniture needs a good updating and a good paint job.
After entering our condo we were completely disappointed. The floor was so dirty. I found a broom and had to use a paper plate as a dust pan. After I dumped two plates of food wrapper trash and sand I decided to leave the 3rd pile on floor and call vacasa. While they were asking for pictures we also noticed food pieces stuck in random places on floor, the balcony door lock was jammed shut and screen broken, the ACs and bedroom walls contained black mold (across entire trim of ceiling and up the wall right next to head of bed..), balcony floor sandy and gross. Vasca sent a second cleaning crew that arrived 90 mins after complaint which i was happy with. They were so nice and re cleaned the appartment. The floor was so much better however the mold - they literally took a broom and tried to sweep it off wall... so who knows what we breathed in all week. I will say the previous comments complained of Hard bed, id say the opposite the were extremely soft and caving int. 80% of apparentment is dated with small minor updates. The AC in living room is worthless. The AC in bedroom cooled space but sounds like an army tank at times. Also the shades in bedroom are shear so bring a sleep mask unless you like to watch the sunrise from bed. Bring your own bedding and cover the old couches with the provided sheets.. I really wish I could say we loved this spot.. but ot was just okay. We still had a great time but I would not stay here again. Vacasa was very apologetic about the lack of cleaning. Overall this is an OK place. Just okay.
Pro- price, pool & beach view, spacious, kitchen sink has nice pressure. Keyless entry (but code is suepr long).
Cons- everything else
Kitchen update nice. Mattresses comfortable. Bathroom in great need of mold removal and updates. Walked in to the condo and found black mold in a large amount of the shower tile. I ran to the store and cleaned it myself. Also the balcony door locks are broken and the screen in the living room door torn away from the screen door. Area rugs could use a cleaning. Location is very good. Building maintenance very good. For the high price condo should have cleaner and updated.
The beds were intolerable. We had to go to Walmart to buy a mattress topper, which gave very little comfort. I doubt very much that the owners of this condo ever actually sleep in this unit. Such a disappointment to wait all year for a week at the beach, but it was so uncomfortable that it ruined our time there.
Old,decrepit furnishings, bath, old tile grout could not tell if it was clean or not base board heaters rusted, old out dated small toilet, beds were worn out 10 years ago, had to put pillows under mattress to keep from sinking in no instructions for tv system, area rugs were not vacuumed at all (crumbs/flakes/pieces of foil/sniglets, etc.), glass coffee table covered with finger prints, etc.etc.etc....Do you ever inspect the properties you represent? If the owner does not want to renovate the property he should sell it to someone who would take pride in their unit. I would be embarrassed as a company to represent this property. Please post this review!!
Check in/check out was confusing but condo was nice
The condo itself was amazing for the price and the outdoor pool area was also wonderful. Great views from the balcony and the building was peaceful and not noisy or uncomfortable at all.
Only a few things that we took issue with. The check in/check out process was confusing and inconvenient. After 5:00 there isnât a single employee at the office or the building itself. You have to drive around 10 or so blocks north from the condo building to the office to âcheck inâ. If you arrive after 5 pm, no one is there, and they give you a code to a lockbox that contains keys and room info for every other reservation checking in that havenât arrived yet either. Itâs based on trust that no one else will take your room keys and reservation info.
Phone service in the condo was spotty at best, and in the room it was almost nonexistent at times. There is free wifi and they give you the password, however for us it did not work. No biggie.
A somewhat of a âhiddenâ charge that they donât tell you about when booking on a third party website like Expedia is they charge you for parking and they enforce it. Parking is $40 per vehicle and must be paid upon arrival. Not once have we ever stayed at a hotel or condo in Ocean City and get charged for parking but it is what it is.
Check out is confusing as well because the info on the packet you receive is somewhat vague and we assumed we drop off the keys in the building lobby. Well, in the south tower there is no lobby so we had to walk over to the north tower only to be told they are separate buildings. A maintenance worker told us that you have to go back to the drop box up the road again to drop everything off.
Overall just the lack of communication and confusion was a big turn off for us. The property was nice and I would definitely come back again because the pricing was also affordable, but they definitely need to work on better communication and making the check in/check out process much easier than it was.
