Relax with breathtaking views of the lake in this charming house located in the apple country of upstate New York.
Enjoy swimming, paddle boarding, or kayaking during the summer.
Winter time activities can include snowshoeing on nearby trails, snuggling up with hot cocoa by the roaring fire in the wood burning stove, or ice fishing on Braddock Bay or other nearby ponds.
Feel free to cook at home with our fully stocked kitchen, or you can take advantage of numerous local restaurants, breweries and cideries.
Located a short 20 minute drive from downtown Rochester with lots of attractions including theatres, museums, art galleries, and shopping.
*Water access is seasonal, as we remove the stairs over the winter months to reduce damage.
The place was immaculate. The kitchen- well stocked; you can find anything you might want. Plenty of entertainment provided in and by the house. The area is also full of opportunities: great beaches, fine family restaurants and pick-your-own farms. We got full support from the rental management. They are very responsive and pleasant. We spent a week at the cottage and thoroughly enjoyed every day.
Great place to stay! The two living areas are very spacious and comfortable. The weather was nice, so we were able to use the water gear provided (paddle board, kayak, paddle boat, floats). The host was very responsive and friendly to work with. We would definitely rent here again!
We had a lovely stay for my sonâs graduation at RIT. Great little place to gather as a family for hang time and dinner. Loved the endless sounds of the lake and beautiful sunsets. Not too far from everything.
We wanted waterfront simply for the view and these views were excellent! Would like to thank the host for providing the snow for a "white Christmas" ;) We cooked our Christmas dinner at the property and found the kitchen and supplies to be great. The fireplace was cozy! The only negative was that there was no snow shovel or broom to clear the doorway and path, which made those areas very slippery; although the driveway got plowed after the previous nights snow.Thank you and definitely recommend this property.
Not very clean. Kind of used. No pens. Dishwasher completely full and didnt realize it until the next day after we ran home for supplies. No coffee. No pets policy but dog treats in the kitchen drawer and a large dog crate in the closet next to the portable crib?
We had an amazing stay! The house was packed with little conveniences that helped make our stay feel like home! I was able to prepare a few dishes to share with family on Thankgiving without needing to purchase any kitchen tools! We will return!
Not too far from U of Rochester where we are visiting our kids. A great little hideaway ânot too far from the city proper but far enough to enjoy the beautiful view of Lake Ontario! Too bad it was raining during our trip so we couldnât take full advantage of the backyard. We hope to come back!
We had to make some last minute travel plans to support family. The host was very accompanying and the cottage was very cute and perfect for our family. The lake and firepit was a great reprive after a long day.We would definitely stay there again!
We had a very nice stay here on a return trip from Cooperstown. Check in was super easy, the house was very clean. Communication with the owner was excellent. We had a few questions and our messages were returned right away. The only issue I would make note of is that there is no central air. There is a window ac unit upstairs and a portable unit that can be vented outside through a downstairs window. We had perfect, comfortable summer days with evenings in the 50s-60s, but one day was upper 80s and the house was pretty stuffy. Maybe if we had run the units all day if would have helped. When sun went down we opened windows and breeze was cool again. I only mention this because it could be an issue if you are sensitive to heat. Otherwise, it is a lovely place to stay and enjoy the lakeview. We visited a nearby state park for more of a beach setting and it was very nice. Not overly crowded at all. We recommend the Blue Barn Cidery and Freshly Blended Smoothies. Very nice home and quiet towns near the lake.
My sister and 2 adult nieces really enjoyed our stay. We traveled to Letchworth and Chimney State Parks for beautiful hikes which were about an hour from the VRBO. Local Craft beers, wineries, hard cider, farmers markets, food and ice cream did not disappoint. Sunrise's and sunsets are stunning! Shuffle board and fire pit were a great wind down at the end of the day.
We enjoyed stopping at this home for a few days while traveling across the state to visit family. It was a great place to relax and enjoy beautiful sunrises and sunsets, paddle boards on the water, and simple games and activities. We also found the area to have several interesting places to visit and eat within 15 minutes in different directions. You cannot beat the location of this home, we will be returning next year. :)
Michelle was a wonderful host with excellent communication. The home was as pictured with thoughtful touches. The shuffleboard was a fun addition. We particularly enjoyed the two living room spaces- the kids could watch their morning cartoons while we read in the other living room. My husband particularly loved the oversized couch, which was very comfortable.
The neighborhood is nice and quiet. Unfortunately (and completely out of control of the owners), an algae bloom (+tested HAB) occurred a few days before our arrival so we were not able to enjoy the water out back other than by sound & sight. With it came no-see-ums that were out of this world, but we learned after the first night to shut all the windows the second the sun went down and they werenât overly bothersome after that. We brought bug spray with us and the bugs did not deter us from seeing some stunning sunsets.
We enjoyed the quiet location, on the outskirts of Rochester. Took a day trip to Niagara Falls (about an hour and 20 minutes away), spent a day at the Strong Museum of Play (about 25 minutes away- and worth more than a day!), a boat ride on the Sam Patch in Pittsford through the Erie Canal Lock 32 (about 20 minutes away) and there was a great mini golf place in Greece (about 15 minutes away).
Cell service for us was minimal and occasionally SOS (AT&T), however we found the Wi-Fi to be strong and reliable. This is a great location for a peaceful getaway, while being reasonablyclose to everything.
So our son gave this trip to his dad for Christmas. They planned a stay and fishing on Lake Ontario. They absolutely loved the place. The views were incredible! The communication with the owner was awesome.
