We loved our stay. The home was in a great location to the beach and the pool. Our son enjoyed that we could just walk to the beach for the morning and then the afternoon we were able to either drive down to the pool or walk across the street for a snoball or smoothie.
We love the location and the home is ok. We had some issues with cleanliness and some other issues that we have notified Vacasa of to hopefully be remedied.
This house was in a great location close to the beach. Check in was so simple and check out was even simpler. The property manager sent a message to see how things were going and if we needed anything. We did have a few things that needed fixed like a light out and a sink dripping. They had that fixed within 24 hours and were in contact the whole time. We would stay there again.
The location was perfect. We were in Avon for a wedding and our proximity to our friends was perfect. Easy beach access and a view of the ocean without being on the ocean was perfect!
My 3 teenagers and I stayed here for a week. We really enjoyed the beach, which was a quick walk from the house. There was plenty of room to spread out.
The area/beach are absolutely great but the house left some to be desired. Bottom door lock needs to be fixed, almost locked us out due to not making a full turn. Lack of TVâs for the kids/bedrooms, and no skillets for cooking in the house. With some attention it could be great, but donât exactly recommend currently. Not too good for cooking or for a rainy day when you have to stay in with kids..
My family stayed at this property over Spring Break. The kitchen was stocked with everything you would need, and the design of the house was so cool! The house is a short walk to the beach and close to great fishing spots. We would definitely stay again. The only downside is that this property does not allow dogs, and we would have loved to bring ours.
If I can help one person it would be not to book through Vacasa
Stay away from this home and Vacasa for bookings. The appliances are in terrible conditions with rust in them. The refrigerator has a curtain rod to hold the door on. The microwave and freezer are rusted inside near where your food is. I brought the issues up to the staff with photos and nothing was done all week. I will never book with Vacasa again.
The Sirens Song is a good home for the price. Plenty of space, great water pressure, short walk to the beach. Perfect for a small family or a three man fishing trip.
Ok as has been mentioned the back porch screens are missing but that didnât really effect us. Be prepared for LOTS of stairs.
The place was clean and well stocked with kitchen items towels etc. The beds were ok and we slept well on them. It was a bit of a hike to the beach over down the road and over the dune but doable. From the deck in between the houses up could see a little ocean view.
All and all I wouldnât hesitate to get the same place again. (And might next year weâll see if I can get away again).
Pool is about 1 mile away on other side of highway - I had rented the property with the idea that my mother would have access to pool as hiking over the dunes is a bit much on her knees
Like previous guests the back porch would be nice to use if it had screens - it had a huge wasp
nest
Nice location - quick walk to beach over what we dubbed Mount Dune
Within walking distance of lots of restaurants
Very clean
Wonderful time.
A few minor problems ... sliding door would not lock, we used a piece of wood. Missing screens on porch. Not sure how many bath towels we were supposed to have but there was only 4. We managed to purchase more which was easy.
Garbage pick up at midnight Tuesday and Thursday could wake the dead.
Overall we loved the little house and would rent again.
Our key code did not work the entire trip I called vacasa to reset and still did not work so we couldn't lock the front door. Also the sliding glass door from porch into house lock was broken so we had to use that entrance to get into the house and leave it unlocked the hole week. This needs to b looked into. Couldn't sit on porch off kitchen because screens were missing and was buggy. Overall we had a great time at the house
The only minor thing would be to fix the screens on the screened porch. Great vacation house, close to the beach. A quick drive to access the sound, too, for placid water if you have small kids.
Siren's Song, as described, is a tidy and clean 3 BR/2 BA home (albeit a little bit dated) just a half-block away from the Avon shore. Our family had plenty of space, used the outdoor decks quite a lot, and made the beach our de facto backyard. The house had kitchen amenities provided in good working condition, and the linens provided by an outside service arrived bleached and wrapped in a secured container, so we were further assured of their cleanliness.
Hatteras Realty, the property management, has some systems that are effective (an app with local information, and emails beforehand), but we had difficulty communicating with them both before and during the stay. Before the stay, I asked about the TV service at the house per another review, and was assured it was working. It wasn't when we arrived. A detailed email to the management office ended up entered wrong in their system, which I discovered when I called later that week with another repair issue (windows not closing properly).
A couple of helpful notes for future visitors:
- Beach access, very close by, is over a dune. Visitors with limited physical abilities may have trouble getting over it.
- Research whether your cell provider is accessible in Avon. That meant that we had to hit up the coffee shop for free wifi to download the confirmation email with our keyless entry code. The house comes with a landline for local calls, and Internet service was reliable.
- An outdoor shower is provided, as well as a hose to rinse off your feet. A charcoal grill is available outside, but you provide your own briquettes and lighter.
- Route 12, the main road in and out of town, is close by but was not noisy.
We enjoyed the location of the house. There were some things that could be improved, like repairing the screens on the porch. We did have some issues with linens and I sent an email to the proper people. We never heard from them all week. Overall it was a great time and we enjoyed our stay.
We enjoyed our experience but it could have been better if the television had some kind of service. We were not able to access any sort of cable or streaming service on the television that was frustrating.
