This Cozy Bungalow located in the Historic Independence Heights area of Houston is centrally located to all the most popular restaurants and entertainment venues in the City of Houston. It features 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. Central Air/Heat, on site parking, sleeps up to 4 and has internet and cable. It is very kid and pet friendly and features a fully fenced in back yard for your kids and pets to roam free and safe.
Chose this location as it was affordable and fairly conveniently located. You can tell the neighborhood is being updated. This is an older home thatâs had a facelift. There is brand new construction nearby as well as homes that have seen better days. Felt reasonably safe. House was comfortable. Could have used a sweep before we arrived to remove the termites that had swarmed (tis the season).
My family and I traveled to Houston for a family vacation. This property was great - easy access to Houston attractions, stores and was clean and quiet. My girls loved playing in the fenced backyard. We would definitely stay here again.
Having just lost my mother, I needed a place to get away and reconnect with myself. Friends suggested a quick getaway and provided an airline ticket to Houston. I was not up to seeing anyone or wanting to be around numerous individuals. They found and suggested this quaint VRBO.
It was perfect! The cleanliness and design of the unit were as described. The neighborhood was quiet and near grocery stores. It was just what I needed, I will seek this out on a return trip to Houston.
We were in town for spring break visiting friends, 2 adults, 2 kids. This is an up-and-coming area, mixture of old and new houses. The streets are very narrow which at times made it a tight squeeze for my truck when cars were parked alongside the street. Place is clean and equipped with what you would need. As another reviewer mentioned, blackout curtains are needed, streetlights are bright, so if you need total darkness to sleep, I would bring a sleeping mask. Also would have been nice if there were over the door hooks to hang towels, ect. We did hear the train at night; however, we sleep with a sound machine so it helped some. Overall we felt safe, didn't have any issues.
The bungalow was as described except there was no spa/whirlpool (and we did not expect one). All in all a good experience! Good A/C. Nice to have the yard with our pups. Looked to be newly readied for VRBO and having sustained some flooding? Needs more window coverings to block out light from street in front bedroom and windows on side front. Towel bars, nightstand and lamps with bulbs would be great. Something going on under kitchen sink on disposal side? Coffee maker was not cleaned after last use. One neighbor's house looked questionable but both sides neighbor people were very friendly. Thank you!
House was super clean and host had fabulous communication. Very cute inside. Mattresses were SOOO clean and comfortable, a tad on the firm side but not terrible. Loved the backyard. Kitchen had very minimal cookware. I had to go to store to purchase a larger skillet because the ones that were there were to small.
To me the description talking about the location being in Heights neighborhood made me feel like it would be a very nice neighborhood and it was not the best. We felt uncomfortable with the surroundings. There are nice townhouses across the street but the houses around were very run down with a lot of junk and debris around. Gated doors and windows etc. Though it was very quiet (other than the occasional train). The house and host were amazing, the neighborhood was less than anticipated.
We really enjoyed staying at this house, it was very clean and comfortable. Just what we needed. Communication with the owner was impeccable which made check in seamless.
Great place! Very cute and quiet for the most part! It is near train tracks so you will hear the train but that is was not an issue for me at all! It was very clean upon arrival so I love that! The only issue I had was on the page it says â9 minutes away from the convention centerâ but it was actually about 20-25min away. I was only in Houston for a convention so it was a bit of a hassle but not enough that I would rank this place any lower than a four! I do have a small suggestion and that would be to get more cooking supplies because I worked with what I had but it would be nice to have all the cooking equipment I needed
This was a lovely bungalow for 2 and a small dog. Loved the fenced yard! Need hand rails for the front entrance. I had a 96 year old with me. Would have liked cable TV, but we managed with Netflix and U Tube. We had a very relaxing few days in a great location!
The house is cute and just as described. Everything was clean, and all basics (plus more) were provided. The backyard is big and a great place to have coffee each morning. Would stay here again.
The house was clean. The furniture, linens and kitchen ware are at minimum standards. Probably ok for a night or two, but inadequate for any longer. The neighborhood is loud; dogs, train, traffic, etc. lots of fireworks on Christmas Eve. Walking our dog was dangerous business as there were so many off leashpets running around.
