Private Apartment in Historical Downtown Hillsdale
Two floor apartment with plenty of room for a large family or two families traveling together. Two separate rooms with queen sized beds that sleep two adults each, a third bedroom with a single bed, and a fourth bedroom with a children's room that sleeps three in a bunk bed with pull out trundle. There is a full living room, dining room and kitchen. Conveniently located in the middle of downtown Hillsdale with walkability to restaurants, coffee houses, churches and parks. Six blocks from Hillsdale College.
We had family stay here for a wedding. The place was clean and perfectly located to all of downtown Hillsdaleâs amenities. We were very pleased overall!
Such a comfortable, clean property! Heather was a great host! Made sure to answer quickly with any questions we had and even made sure the refrigerator was stocked with water and breakfast food. If we are ever in the area again we would definitely stay at this property again.
Such a sweet historical apartment! Everything was VERY clean, and Heather was extremely hospitable. We would love to stay here again, and would recommend it to others.
Property worked well for our weekend visit with our daughter at Hillsdale College. Our youngest really enjoyed the toys and bunk beds. Plenty of room to spread out. Overall, positive experience.
Heather was great and responded quickly to a couple of requests we had! The location is great: close to grocery and dining options, as well as a nice walking trail.
This apartment was perfectly located for our trip to Hillsdale. Clean, comfy, and with plenty of space. Heather was a wonderful host and quick to respond to any questions. We enjoyed our time at the apartment and would love to stay here again if we make it back to the area.
Had everything we needed, close to Hillsdale College, walking distance to a decent restaurant and cocktails, well decorated and clean. My only cautions are two flights of stairs and the old wood floors are creaky so light sleeper will definitely be woken up when others are moving around the place.
We enjoyed our stay! There are 2 coffee shops and a great restaurant within walking distance. There are some cute shops on the street. We had plenty of space, with two bedrooms, a kitchen and bathroom on the top level and 2 bedrooms, a sitting room, and bathroom on the second level, along with a laundry room. There were plenty of towels and extra blankets. Our host left us some fruit, snacks, and drinks upon arrival. We would definitely stay here again!
Heather's place was meant to be for several of us, but at the last minute it was just 4 adults, and that was fine - we each had our own level to "live" on - and shared the kitchen upstairs. If you have more than 4 people it gets cozy real quick - especially for eating and bathrooms, but the location was great for attending Hillsdale College graduation. Be ready for steep stairs, and some loud street noise here and there. Overall, it's hard to find good options close to campus, and if you're up for the stairs, and need a little larger space to accommodate more than mom and dad give this place a look!
Host was very accommodating and easy to work with. We appreciated the room to spread out compared to staying at a hotel especially since we were in town for the week. Having a kitchen with refrigerator and laundry machines plus two bathrooms helped our party of 4. We were able to host visiting family in the living room area and also watch a movie on the TV with streaming services. The two window A/C units really helped with the summer heat. The stairs were steep, but not as bad as I thought they might be. Appreciated the coffee, bagels, juice, bottled water, and fruit!
This was better than the hotel to watch my grandkids. Clean, WiFi, TV! I cooked and baked cookies! Heather had fruit & water so I didn't have to carry bottles up the steps & she was quick to respond to questions. More than accomadating! After all luggage was up the steps, a bag of groceries & coming and going was manageable. Kitchen is on upper floor. Children will need supervision but they always do!
Heather has the biggest heart in the Vrbo network! We left Nashville and headed to Hillsdale with confidence my best friend of 25 years was stable after heart surgery. Only 60 miles north of town we got the call from his wife that he had passed away in the night. We, of course, turned around and headed there to be with her. Subsequently, Heather, in her gracious and empathetic spirit, told us not to worry about our six-month property reservation, we were where we needed to be. That proved to be true and we thank her for her understanding and support during one of the worst experiences of my life.
If you are looking for a charming family friendly place for your group to stay in Hillsdale, this place worked perfectly for us! It is convenient and within walking distance to many of the local coffee houses and eateries. It is also a short distance away, under 5 minutes by car, from Hillsdale College.
The owner Heather is a wonderful host. She had a bowl of fresh fruit and light refreshments waiting for us upon arrival. An extra touch of hospitality.
The rooms are well thought out for a vacation rental with plenty of beds for our family and towels for everyone. We enjoyed the sitting room where we could gather and relax as well as the separate area where the casual dining table is located, right next to the kitchen.
We especially appreciate the walk in closet that allowed us to leave our luggage, hang up our jackets, and a dresser to leave our things on so they are out of the way from the main family areas. Since there is only one bathroom, we would have benefited from having a mirror in the closet for getting ready in the morning, an addition to an already charming place for a family to stay.
Highly recommend! Thank you so much for a lovely stay.
Charming older home in a wonderful location. Walk to coffee shops and Farmers Market. Walk to Hillsdale College. We attended a wedding at Hillsdale College and the two bedroom up/ down was perfect for two couples with children. The host is very responsive and provided a fruit bowl and breakfast food. There was no noise complaints/footsteps complaints from the part of family staying on the lower level. Also, the town is really quiet at night, so donât worry about city noise in this downtown location
Sun filled living room and kitchen. Plenty of room to relax and spread out. Walking distance to eateries. A perfect location for families visiting Hillsdale College.
We enjoyed our stay. Heather was quick to reply to any need. Beds are comfy and it was as advertised. We enjoyed walking to coffe in the mornings and dinner at night. Would stay here again.Note - lots of stairs which is not a problem for us, but if you have mobility isdues, it maybe a consideratiom
Perfect location! We were in town to check out Hillsdale College. Heather was very responsive and the whole experience could not have been easier. Very cool reno of the 2nd/3rd floors of an historic building in "downtown" Hillsdale.
It's a very nice place to stay, but the layout is a bit odd. You must be able to mount all the steep stairs to get to the kitchen. One of our party was barely able to manage steps so we did not use the kitchen for cooking. If you have small children and plan to use the bedroom with kids room attached, be aware the kids' room has free access to the kitchen and the stairs. It would be helpful if there were more surfaces for setting things and more storage or hooks.
Very clean, very nice location, very nicely decorated.
