The cottage was a home away from home with everything you could possibly need. Ideally situated for exploring the local area. A lovely town with hidden gem of an Italian restaurant. An excellent place to stay.
Lovely cottage in a perfect location for visiting Bamburgh Castle and Lindisfarne. Accommodation was very comfortable and exceeded expectations. Would recommend.
The property is clean and well presented. The beds are comfortable. There is everything that you could possibly need and then some. Great place to be able to visit the whole area. It's quiet and private too and it's good to be able to park so close.
Gorgeous property right in the heart of Wooler. Ideal for our needs and lots of great touches. Definitely one to keep as a favourite. Owners were very helpful and answered any and all questions.
The cottage is hidden away in the heart of Wooler village and is a great base for walks (I'd recommend the short walk to Wooler Common) and visits to local towns, beaches and attractions. It had ample parking and was comfortable for our family of 4. The cottage is well maintained and decorated beautifully and it felt like home for our stay. Communication with hosts was friendly, clear and efficient and check-in and out was easy.
Lovely weather, great comfortable, clean, well-appointed cottage in an area with access to The Cheviots for walking, the coast for restaurants like The Jolly Fisherman, castles and gardens aplenty, wildlife in abundance and first-class golf at The Roxburghe.Heaven on earth.
Weâll presented and cared for let, really convenient location in the centre of Wooler makes Cuthberts Retreat a great place to stay and a good base to explore this part of Northumbria.
The cottage is really lovely: big, bright airy rooms full of light. The hosts have thought of everything to make guests comfortable. We enjoyed the location too, and would certainly recommend staying here.
We have stayed at these premises a number of times previously and have to say nothing has changed, still a lovely well set out cottage right in the centre of Wooler.Very clean and tidy, with everything you need for a short break or a longer stay. The host is very helpful and communicates well.If you book the cottage be sure to book the Italian in Wooler, itâs called Milan and it is very good, the best bit is itâs less than a 2 minute walk from the cottage!
Dave and I were born and bred in the North East and have always felt an affiliation with the region. I spent most of my childhood holidays playing in rock pools along Embleton Bay outside my grandparents 'wooden bungalow' on the dunes
We fell in love with Cuthbert's Retreat because of it's quiet location off the Market Place. It is situated along a pink graveled lane, situated in between 'Trotters Family Bakers' and the 'Essence of Beauty' tucked away to the side of the Bus Station. The view of the local church's clock face and tiled roofs is very comforting. Everything you need is literally on your doorstep. Wooler is a very welcoming and friendly place.
