I loved not being off a busy road but rather tucked back and a short walk from Stover's Cove and so close to Pott's Point which are two favorite spots of ours in Harpswell. Not having a washer or dryer and having to go into Brunswick was a bit of an inconvenience and doing dishes by hand for a family of five wasn't ideal while on vacation. I would however come back year after year if my family can afford it. The location of the lovely house outweighed the other inconveniences. We had a magical week!
Excellent week vacation, just wish it had been longer.
The camp was great, we couldn't have asked for anything more. It is very well equipped, clean, and the view was breath taking. Our only regret is that we only reserved it for 1 week.
A mini family reunion united us from Florida, Colorado and Cape Cod for a wonderful week in this idyllic setting. The amenities of the cottage were beyond my expectations. Everything we needed was provided. The living and dining spaces were roomy and comfortable and the many bedrooms were a bonus. The view from the porch was just lovely, the bay and Cribstone Bridge. Other than the single bathroom, we could not have asked for more. We dined at The Sea Dog Brewery in Bath, Cook's Lobster and Ale House on Bailey Island, and Estes Lobster House nearby. Estes is our all time favorite and it has made many improvements to its outside dining since we last went there several years ago. We discovered Popham Beach in Bath, and agree it is the loveliest beach we have ever seen. And, of course, we shopped at Land's End Gift Shop on Bailey Island, a must for any visitor to the area. The weather cooperated and we could not have been a more relaxing week. We would love to make this an annual destination. Chuck and Mary Mott are extraordinary people and we enjoyed getting to know them and their pooch, Lucy. Thank you for your warm hospitality!
We loved the coziness of the home and the view was relaxing. Everything we needed for cooking was provided. There was plenty of space for our family with charming rooms. Loved how close the beach and cove were as we spent many hours there. We had a hard time saying goodbye. We especially loved the book selection, there were helpful books about the area and some good reads overall.
As I am writing this review my boys are looking at the picture of the house, here are some of their comments, "Can we move back into that house?" "Oh, I am already home sick!"
We have been visiting South Harpswell for many years, and have passed by the cottage many times on our way to Stover's Cove and always wondered what it was like on the inside and we loved it! We couldn't get over how much room there was inside - very well laid out, the bedrooms upstairs are a great size, and the smaller room for our son was perfect! Everything was clean and well maintained, and we had everything as far as cooking utensils and supplies that we needed, and even made use of the barbecue out back. The porch was fantastic - many early mornings and nights just enjoying the view of the Cribstone bridge. We took advantage of several restaurants including Estes Lobster House and the Dolphin - wonderful as usual! We purchased several batches of lobsters from Dick's Lobsters who were also great to deal with.
We got the chance to meet the owners, Mary and Chuck, who were just fantastic and answered any and all questions prior to and after our stay - thank you both for everything!

This is a very nice house with a great location on the South Harpswell peninsula. It is very spacious and well-suited for a getaway with family and friends. There are 3 good-sized, comfortable bedrooms upstairs as well as a small single bedroom which is fine for 1 adult or a teenager/child. The kitchen has everything you need for all your meals, and the living and dining room are big enough for meals for 6 adults and hanging out. There is a nice gas grill on the back porch, too. The newly remodelled front porch has a great view and we enjoyed dining outside and also sitting on the porch steps just watching the lobster boats. On a nice day you can walk to Estes Lobster house in about 30 minutes, and Stover's point nature preserve is just a five minute walk down the road. We saw harbor seals, crabs, and many shore birds. It's a short 20 minute drive to Brunswick but there are also a few restaraunts and grocery stores nearby. The house was very clean, well-maintained, and the owner was very professional and prompt in handling the rental agreement and answering our questions. The stairs to the 2nd floor are a little steep, but other than that it's a great house and we highly recommend it.
