Adorable cottage with million dollar view and short walk to stunning beach.
If you grew up experiencing summers on the Maine coast, our cottage will bring you back in time. Our cottage offers a million dollar view of Orrs and Bailey Islands cribstone bridge and access to one of Maine's most unique beaches (Stovers Point Beach). Our family cottage has been updated with running water (hot and cold), a half bath (toilet and sink NOTE: accessed on the deck - not in the cottage) and an outdoor shower. The camp has a good sized eat in kitchen with brand new gas cooking stove, microwave and medium sized refrigerator/freezer. A nice sized living room with Smart TV and two adjacent bedrooms (one single, one full sized bed).
Adjacent to the cottage (a few steps from the deck) is a bunk house with a queen sized bed and Smart TV.
There are window AC units in living room and bunkhouse.

Rachel is a great host - her little cottage was exactly what we were looking for. We brought our 2 dogs who enjoyed the daily hikes to the beach and nearby nature preserves. If you want lobster rolls, there are plenty of options! We drove to Freeport to shop one day - only 1/2 hour away. Cottage is in a Peaceful, quiet area to just sit on the deck and enjoy view of the water.
Terrific visit to the Stovers Point neighborhood in South Harpswell!! My family and I enjoyed a terrific 6 day visit while reconnecting with family members who live in nearby Brunswick. The cottage is impeccably clean and organized, and Rachel's communication was stellar. We were a little unprepared about the kitchen water / water tank limit, therefore we tried very hard to not use the indoor plumbing as best we can. Overall, a very quiet, very quaint lodging. It's located in a beautiful area of Maine and provided for a relaxing week of vacation! Thank you!
Property was great, absolutelly beautiful area, about a half hour to an hour for shopping and activities. Great restaraunts with beautiful views within 15 minutes nearby. Wolfe Neck Park nearby for hiking, with the coast, a must see.
Repeat guests. Our family loves staying at Camp, and Rachel is a wonderful host. It's old-school in the best way, a comfy and clearly treasured family home, in the best location.
This camp is adorable, comfortable, clean and is in a great location for access to Stover's Cove and all of Harpswell. The host was easy to contact and gave lots of good information about the camp and exactly what to expect. I loved the outdoor shower, the decor and the outside deck/sitting area. A nice spot to stay for vacation or a few days away. I would happily stay here again.
We had an amazing stay at Rachelâs cottage. The location was perfect and the view of Baileys Island bridge was perfect. We especially liked the outdoor shower as it gave a very camp feel- bed in the bunk house was comfortable. Would recommend and stay here again. Host was very quick to communicate with. Thank you for a great stay!
We loved it! The cabin location was walking distance to beach. Owners were responsive. Place was super comfortable and as described. Super friendly people. Will be back for 2 weeks next year!
We had amazing stay. The cottage was warm and inviting the views from the property amazing! Communication with the host Rachel was effortless and check in process effortless. Definitely will stay again if she will have us!
The property is easy to find. Very clean and had all the necessities. Quick walk to the beach for kids to swim and look for shells and hermit crabs. The games especially croquet were a hit.
We loved this cottage! Rachel was a great communicator, answering all our questions promptly and making check in/out a breeze. The cottage was even more spacious and comfortable than we expected. Amazing views from the deck, plenty of lawn space to relax or play outdoor games, quiet neighborhood, and just a short walk to the beach! Very dog-friendly spot with plenty of beaches and trails to enjoy with our pup. Highly recommend, and we hope to be back in the future!
Compact but held everything we needed. Clean as a whistle, quiet location near the water, and convenient to eateries. Host was helpful and accommodating. A historically notable property upgraded to meet current needs. Outside shower (with privacy) added a camping dimension but host's creativity made the experience fun. We enjoyed our stay and would return.
We had a wonderful time during our stay. R We did not need anything during our stay. The cottage was well equipped and clean. Rachel checked with us to make sure we were satisfied and didnât need anything. She was very responsive to our questions. Rachel is a wonderful host!!
The cozy cottage was clean, well equipped and had a great view. We loved the outdoor shower. It is located in a quiet neighborhood and an easy walk to a beautiful beach. Harpswell has so many walking trails, we recommend Bailey island-Giant's Stairs Trail- a stunning easy hike. Some other favorite spots were Pammy's Ice Cream Parlor and casual dining at Erica's Seafood. Rachel was a wonderful and responsive host. We would love to return to this relaxing camp.
We loved last year's stay so much we returned this year. The camp and Harpswell area is wonderful for our two kids, 4 and 7, who spend all day exploring the tidepools at all the preserves. We saw a ton of wildlife, including bald eagles and seals, right from Stovers Pt. The camp is as sweet as ever, and upgrades like the deck improve the experience without doing anything to change its personality as a real family home. Rachel makes everything easy and is a wonderful host.
My family of 4 and our little dog had a fun, relaxing vacation at Rachel's place in Harpswell. It was so nice to take a break from the city to play indoor and outdoor games, look for rocks and shells at the beach just a short walk away, and enjoy local treats like Pammy's Ice Cream Parlor. There were quite a few board games and outdoor lawn games provided that we took advantage of. The shower on the deck was refreshing and the bunk house was a great addition and provided 3 comfortable bedrooms four our family. Definitely recommend!
If you love Harpswell and it's surroundings, this camp is very good choice. Safe quiet and confortable place to spend vacation with a 3 year's old. Stover's Point and Pott's Point near by. The weather was not great but we did enjoy a few meals on the cute small terrasse. The BBQ cleanliness could have been better or with adequate tools to remove grease from the grill.
We just spent 6 days in this adorable little cottage. Weâve vacation in this area for many years and this location was by far one of the best. We truly enjoyed the outdoor shower, beds were very comfortable. The cottage was clean and neat. I loved the vintage photos that were in the cottage. I would highly recommend staying here. Rachel, the host was quick to get back to us, with any questions we had. Also checkout all the hiking trails. There are so many to choose from!
Thank you making our vacation wonderful. Tammy, Steve, Sean and the pups, Atticus and Gracie!
My great grandmother Gertrude, bought the camp ~ 1940 and it has stayed in our family since then. I have the best memories of our family and friends at our cottage. In 2020, I had the great honor of inheriting the family cottage and made the decision to share it with others on VRBO who love Harpswell, or want to get to explore this area, or need a simple little cottage get a way!
If you enjoy camping, don't mind "roughing" it a bit, this is a no fuss camp, with all the amenities you need to cook, relax, hangout, play. The half bath room (toilet and sink) is located on the deck (not in the cottage) and the shower is an outdoor shower on the deck.
If you love hiking, there are several public trails within 20 minutes or less that lead you along the coast or to a beach. Several dining options within 20 minutes or less as well. Get the best take out seafood around including live or cooked lobsters within 3 miles (Erica's Seafood) or go to the Dolphin Marina restaurant right next door (Oprah had the best lobster roll there!) and experience an awesome meal with a 360 view of the ocean. You can drive over to Bailey's Island (20 minutes) and get a great meal at Cooks Lobster House and continue down to the end and do some shopping at Land's End Gift Shop. You will feel like you are transported back in time. Zero stress, you won't want to leave!
We have games (bean bag toss, badminton, croquet) and plenty of space to spread out and play including a 100 by 100 lot of land across the street from the camp. The deck faces the famous Crib Stone bridge that connects Bailey's and Orr's islands (that million dollar view!). Chairs and a picnic table allows plenty of room and opportunities to enjoy the view. A detached bunk house with a queen sized bed allows for some privacy if needed. Bathroom is attached to the camp but accessed by the deck.
