Im from CT and was meeting a friend flying in from Reno who also is from CT (we hadnât seen each other in 10 years) for her daughters college graduation. This property fit the budget and our needs. Overall the home was clean & comfortable. There are some things that could be improved such as paint peeling off ceiling in bathroom, a new coffee pot, touchup paint & new blinds. But it was definitely a decent place for the and I would stay again.
Bigger things:-No washer/dryer-this is listed and we packed with plan to do laundry but there was no washer/dryer we could see. -Someone lives right next door, only seperated by a door (can hear everything). Its not a private house, they live in left side of house and rental portion is right side.-Mildew smell, not sure where it's coming from but we ran ACs pretty constant. Not sure where the smell was coming from but also helped with some of the humidity.-Previous guest lost parking pass so that was not available to us. I was unaware having a lost parking pass would effect us (appears home owner cannot replace with the town?) Not anyone's fault but it made the trip more difficult. Not a pleasant walk to and from the beach with kids, gear and we had to strategize every beach trip with who was walking to/from after dropping off all people/gear.-The seating for 6 is not comfortable. There is 1 couch in one room with a board under it so the cushions keep slipping. We had to pull out sleeper sofa just to utilize it to sit/lay to watch tv (only tv in home)Smaller things:-No hot water after a 15 minute shower. (possible shared hot water tank with other tenant of home?)-No broom (wanted to sweep up beach sand)-Some rusted heaters, peeling paint, tub less clean, older shower head/shower fixtures.-Needs new towels, washclothes, and larger kitchen trashcan.*Nice pics posted in listing are accurate also*Good home that needs some inexpensive TLC. Nice neighborhood
This house was super cute! The property was clean and in a nice neighborhood. A small park down a few houses for kids.
I didnt think we wanted to use the beach pass offered for a refundable fee, dont be me and say no... we took a drive to see the private beach and i wished i would have paid.!
Definitely going to stay here again
We had a great time staying at this house. Itâs a great location and nice neighborhood. Yes you can walk to the beach but it is hilly and we wouldnât have made it with our beach stuff lol. There were plenty of parking options and we did walk to beach at night. The only thing we would have liked was if there was a gas grill as we enjoy grilling all summer long.
We were pleasantly surprised with how spacious the living area was. The beds were comfortable and the neighborhood was quiet. It was a relaxing home to stay in.
We rented out the property for one night to celebrate a friend getting married. Didnt get to explore much due to time constraints and canceled flights, but the house was beautiful and the homeowner was great to communicate with.
Overall enjoyed the location while visiting family in the area. It did seem like the walk to the beach was further than advertised (and much hillier). I was glad I asked if there was an option to borrow a parking pass for the neighborhood beach since it would have been hard to walk with our kids. It did seem like for the price I would have expected some improvements (upgraded towels, sheets) and the bathtub looked like a bit old/ dirty. And a bigger kitchen trash can would have been nice.
Property wasas advertised. Our issues were the cheap sheets and covers, under-performing air conditioner in the bedroom and not one extra roll of toilet paper - the rools were both no more than half full.
I ll start with the property owner was very good at communication and did refund the cleaning fee.
The rental was not clean at all. Way to much to list on that . Grass wasnât cut. This rental is one side of a ranch house. You can hear every conversation from the other side like they were in the room with you . We were there just for a place to sleep, no one wanted to eat or shower there.
I booked this for a little getaway for my 40th birthday. The renter was accommodating for an early check in as they did not have anyone there prior. That was the only good part. This property was listed as an entire house. When we arrived, we noticed a car on the left side of the house. I immediately messed him to inquire, to which he told me it is a shared location. I told him that was completely misleading as it is listed as an entire house. And nowhere in the description did it mention that. Turns out, it is an in law separated by a locked door! No private at all! We could hear every little thing, not because they were loud but because it was separated by a door. I wanted privacy which is why we didnât rent a hotel! Could not even enjoy the outside patio as you could see them on theirs only a few feet away. And to invade or privacy more, he came by during the day to mow the lawn while we trying to enjoy our time outside. Also in the listing was a washer and dryer. I always travel with my own sheets and towels but because they had laundry I did not think I had to. Come to find out, there is a fee to use it! Also not mentioned in the listing. The air quality in the place was awful, it smelled like mold. we found mouse droppings in the kitchen, which he knows about as there is also mouse traps! I am highly allergic and had such breathing problems I had to stay somewhere else the last night. The light in the second bedroom didnât work, so that guest didnt stay. Bathroom dirty.
We arrived and checked in with no issues after getting some communication from the host. Place was clean and spacious. It was a bit cold and discovered the thermostat needed battery replacement so the host was kind enough to come by and take care of that for us. Beds were comfortable and kitchen was well supplied. Only complaint is the cushions on the couch in the main living room kept sliding off when we sat there to watch TV because there was a hard wood board underneath it to protect the pullout bed but I already mentioned this to the host and hopefully they provide a better option. We enjoyed a nice 10-15min walk to the beach through the neighborhood which was very lovely and relaxing. It was a beautiful day to stroll around the beach. Home is a short driving distance to the downtown area which has some restaurants and shops. About 30min to Mystic and 50min to New Haven.
We only stayed for one night for an event that we were participating in. The place was clean but smelled a little musty. Turning on the AC helped. We were overall happy with the place.
Unfortunately the property and house was not well maintained. The house had a significant mold problem. My wife and kids managed to sleep in the poor air quality but I ended up sleeping in my car due to respiratory issues from the mold. I hope the owner can have the property professionally remediated for mold. I am disappointed and embarrassed that we started our vacation this way
Property was clean and well maintained. Unfortunately the weekend I was there the weather was awful, it rained both days, so was not able to emjoy what Niantic has to offer, but overall we enjoyed our stay.

Great location but the property could use some TLC
While the location was ideal for visits to the beach and state park, the property itself was tired. The paint was chipped and the walls were dirty. The radiators in the bathroom were rusty. And the towels were well worn. The linens were thin and were no extra linens for the trundle bed. Window coverings were thin. And the living room sofa was so blown out there was a piece of plywood underneath the cushions. For the price, I expected a clean, well maintained, well appointed house.
Overall the property was very nice. A few sections of the house bathroom and ceiling showed signs of rust and water damage which didnât make it look very clean. And also the description of the house to the beach was way father then what was listed. But we found going to Rocky Neck State park was a better choice. Also owner had told me the day of that the beach pass was an added cost which i didnât choose to do! All in all we only stayed 2 nites it was fun!
