Nice view. We were hit with a bad smell as soon as we entered and had to buy multiple room deodorizers to make it ok. Some of the dishes were sticky. The carpet in the living room is ripped. Paint on the walls was chipped. Seems like these would be easy fixes. Neighbors were quiet, but the house is right off of a busy road. Convenient location to Coos Bay and various state parks.
The property is one of a duplex, all one level with no steps at the entry. There is a carport with gravel, but no roof over the walkway to the front door. So if it's raining, which is often here in Oregon, you will get wet. The house was very clean, but dated. The bedrooms are roomy with double beds that are very comfortable and since the neighborhood is quiet it makes for a good nights sleep. There is no air conditioning, but we just opened the back slider door and the windows in the bedrooms for a really nice breeze.
The tv is has internet access, so we just watched Netflix or Amazon Prime. Not sure if there was cable. The kitchen was nice to use. All the appliances were clean and working. The pictures on the listing aren't current, but there is a coffee pot and many other small appliances available. Good amounts of plates, bowls, glasses, coffee mugs and silverware.
It is a really nice place on the bay to spend a couple of nights. Enjoyed watching all of the birds and the tide going in and out. There were several boats and even a large ship that cruised by. And the sunsets are fabulous. Would stay here again, since it was a nice spot to relax and recharge.
It's small and convenient for a quick gateway. Very comfortable and loved having a washer and dryer to use. Plus the view out to the bay was a nice bonus.
The Bayview Cottage was very much as described, which we liked, as it is not always the case with rented holiday homes. The whole house was clean and inviting, and we immediately felt at home. The living room was comfortably furnished, with two clean and very comfortable sofas, a large TV and the dining table with a view of the water. We were a little surprised at first by the small number of plates and cutlery, but it turned out that the dishwasher had not been emptied. We took care of that and then everything was there in abundance. Next we set about clearing the completely blocked drain of the sink in the bathroom, which we managed after some effort. The cleaning service should have done that before we arrived, as a thorough cleaning of the bathroom would have made the blockage hard to miss. At night it got quite cold here in mid-September - how good that every single room has an individually adjustable, powerful, if quite loud electric air heater. All in all, a very positive experience â and if you could replace the worn-out pans, it would be almost perfect!
Very nice and quiet very clean very comfortable beds
This doesnât need to be posted for everyone to see, but there were a couple little things when we pulled open the blinds One of the slats fell out and it just didnât function very well. It got worse every time we opened and closed it. It really wouldâve been nice if the yard had been mowed, it is very clean. We do appreciate that but one of us has allergies and the vents in the bathroom is extremely filthy. The drain in the sink really needs cleaned. Several of the electrical outlets did not work and one sparked so that was a concern I did wash a couple windows so we could see out more clearly. I know the salt air does things but Anyway we really enjoyed it. I donât know why places donât have blackout curtains in the bedroom. Itâs not just your place but everywhere I stay they do not have blackout curtains in the bedrooms. Itâs just a real preference of mine. I Do not like lights so early in the morning Great little place
The yard wasn't mowed, grass up to my calf. Cobwebs and rusty front door (needed painting). The furnishings inside were old and worn. Smelled musty! The house next door looked to be abandoned. Sketchy area. We left and did not stay. We asked for a refund but was denied. Don't stay here!!!!
Not luxurious by any means but very adequate. Clean and roomy enough for my family of 4. Owners seemed very communicative if we needed anything. Floors werenât sticky. Neighbors seemed nice. Would stay again.
It's a bang-for-your-buck rental that doesn't try to hide its minimal renovations from the family home it once was
Heat worked well and the view is pretty
As every review has said, the beds are bad. It's not a matter of preference - they're just not good mattresses
Floors are that hotel carpeting that feels sticky even when it's clean, with plastic baseboard molding throughout
The couch is comfy, but the furniture overall just looks like the first things they came across at a reuse shop. Not bad, just cheap and random
Electric plug in the covered parking is sketch and probably unsafe
The customer service is prompt, but either automated or very overworked and impersonal
Some coffee and aluminum foil would be a nice thing to stock
Les points faibles : Emplacement et exactitude de lâannonce
Disappointing
Neighborhood waa questionable. Bed was extremely uncomfortable. Tv was a no go since it wanted me to sign up for Netflix. Did however see one beautiful sunset.
A nice place that is simple and accommodating. Right next to the bay so, with the windows or patio door open, you can hear the waves while eating or watching tv. Very nice place to relax.
Kitchen floor needed to be mopped. Floor was sticky. Our bare feet or socks were sticking to the floor night the night of arrival we first noticed. Rhe door locked us out the next day a code wouldnât work. Brandon was great help. He gave me the code for the key box to get back in. Otherwise our stay was good.
Let me say first that the home has a beautiful view of the bay! The location isn't resort quality as you drive through a pretty old, run down part of town to get to it, but off the main street and on its own dead end road right on the bay. Ee never felt unsafe! Upon arrival after dark we noticed the spotlight on the carport wasn't working making it a little dark of a walk to the front door. However after contacting Vacasa they contacted the owner right away. The home had an odd, old smell to it but it was clean! The beds are super hard and springy, so if you like soft hotel quality, this isn't the home for you. Needs updating. While they strived to decorate in a beachy theme, they missed the mark in design quality with mismatched furniture that feels more like garage sale finds and less of a vintage find. Walls are all painted light blue or rust. From a design aspect, walls should be neutral and even painting the furntiure would raise the bar alot! Neighbors are quiet which was nice since the home is 1/2 of a Duplex with shared walls. Kitchen has all the gadgets and appliances you could need but needs updating as there are chips on the stove top and stains on the laminate counters. Couches are super comfy and newer. Note that there is NO satellite or basic television so you really do get to escape. Also doesn't have a BBQ which would be nice and we never saw any crabbing equipment as listed as provided. Washer and dryer with small.amounts of provided laundry supplies is a bonus! Overall, it's a nice place to stay but could use a little TLC to make it that much better!
Gorgeous view and clean cabin. Two critical feedback: more detailed directions about how the lock on the front door works and the beds are pretty hard.
I would go back, love the bay!
