Casa delle Rose: charming house with stunning balcony in the heart of Cortona
Casa delle Rose is a charming independent house located near the center of Cortona and the free parking at Piazza del Mercato, offering a panoramic position that unveils breathtaking views of the beautiful Etruscan-Medieval city, the serene Val di Chiana countryside, and the nearby Lake Trasimeno.
This splendid property spans three floors and features a fully equipped kitchen with all appliances, a dining room, two double bedrooms, and two bathrooms with showers. The highlight of the house is the fabulous rooftop terrace, furnished with an outdoor lounge and a table with chairs, providing the perfect setting to enjoy pleasant moments outdoors.
We travelled to Italy for 2 weeks and visited Venice, Florence, Cortona and Rome. Our most favorite stay was without a doubt was this home in Cortona. It was exactly as described and we loved the location. Only downside is parking. If you have a car, you will be lugging your luggage uphill for a good ways from the parking area.
Casa Delle Rosa had everything we needed and was very well equipped but the view⊠amazing. We were able to walk everywhere in Cortona and hope to return during warmer weather. Thank you Isabella and the team at Together in Tuscany for making it a seamlessly easy stay
We spent a wonderful week at the Casa delle Rose. Really well appointed kitchen, comfortable beds and well stocked bathrooms. Both bedrooms have AC, very helpful in summer. The top floor bedroom has a double bed and a twin size bed. Thereâs also a dishwasher and washer/dryer, for those staying longer. Thereâs a drip coffee maker, but thereâs also a Bialetti. To use it with the induction stove, thereâs a little flat metal plate with a handle that youâll place on the burner. If youâve never used an induction stove, theyâre fantastic, but definitely get the run down from the staff. The real stars of the show are the rooftop terrace and the balcony off the lower bedroom, both of which overlook the valley. Spent many hours enjoying the view and the sun! A couple of things to keep in mind: the apartment is spread over 4 floors, so if stairs are a problem, it might not be right for you. It is also located on the south wall of the city, so thereâs a steep walk into the two main piazzas, again important to note for those with mobility issues. The piazzale del mercato parking lot is extremely easy to access and is free, but you might circle for a spot at times. The spirito santo parking is also a pretty easy walk, but does involve stairs and is paid from 8:00-8:00 every day. All that to say, check in/out are extremely easy, the staff at Together in Tuscany are super friendly and easy to find in the Piazza Signorelli, and the apartment itself is just phenomenal. Highly recommend!
The terrace is awesome, so nice to relax and view was amazing. Beds were comfortable, kitchen well stocked. Location was the best, nice and quiet. Watching the sunrise from terrace was special. The old key lock on door to the actual unit is very very temperamental and difficult to open.
Great property in a great little town. We loved our morning coffee and pastries and evening wine and dinner on the rooftop patio. Gorgeous views! Easy walk to the town center with lots of choices for dining. Easy access to the train station via the bus. Only slight negative comment would be that there is no air conditioning on the first floor so not able to sit in the living during hot weather. A floor fan would help a lot. All the folks at Together in Tuscany were super helpful if we had an issue or needed help booking a tour.
The introduction to the apartment by the agent was really nice. maybe take a moment with non Europeans and explain how the stove works.
Kitchen great. Well stocked to get started.
Bathroom great
bedroom good. Bed great.
Location easy in and out of the city. Great.
View, phenomenal. Beyond great.
The only disconcerting thing about this house is there isn't anyplace to really sit and relax in comfort. I would highly recommend the owner replace the furniture in the sitting parlor with some that is comfortable and for crying out loud spring for a tv. The cable is already wired in.
Isabella and the Together in Tuscany staff were wonderful prior to and during our stay. The home is exactly as described and transportation was easily arranged. While there is limited living space in the main level, the rooftop porch was wonderful for morning coffee and late night relaxing. The bedrooms are large and comfortable and we felt right at home. The home is located close to the city gate which is nice for arrival and departure with luggage. While walking into town is all uphill (Welcome to Cortona!) the walk home in the evenings is all downhill. We LOVED our stay here and highly recommend this property. An added plus is that the full time residents of Cortona on the street and nearby were wonderfully friendly and helpful. Thank you for a wonderful ten days in Cortona.
We stayed at Casa Delle Rose for 7 days. We particularly enjoyed the rooftop. The view is amazing. A great place for morning coffee or an afternoon glass of wine. The apartment is a nice size. There are lots of steps which may be challenging to some. We found the staff at Together Tuscany very responsive and helpful. The area is beautiful. Cortona is a great village to visit. Casa Delle Rose is a great place to stay.
my sister in law and I stayed here for 4 nights while traveling around Tuscany. Cortona is a beautiful hilltop town that I would love to go back to. You will definitely get your steps in though! The check in was easy and overall the apartment comfortable and we enjoyed our stay, but there were some issues. The apartment is spread out over 3 floors, so a lot of up/down. The bed linens are very nice, the mattresses are foam and can get hot. We cooked a few meals and the kitchen could use some updating with more basic supplies. We would have liked to sit in the charming garden we could see from the upstairs windows but the door to it was locked. The property managers arranged a taxi to pick us up from the Camucia train station one evening at 8:30pm- however the taxi never showed and we had no way to contact them or the manager because of the time of day- that was a little scary because of the time and being 1.5 miles away from the apartment. Very luckily the shuttle bus arrived and the nice driver let us ride for free (we gave her a nice tip!).
