Kick back in a new comfortable shephard's hut. Watch the wildlife and farm animals, gaze at distant Downland views, enjoy spectacular sunsets and sit by a cosy fire pit at night. Go out for hikes and on your bikes!
I was in need of a restful weekend and Sunset View certainly provided it. Set in beautiful countryside. The hut is really well equipped. Hosts are fab. Thoroughly recommend!!!
We had a great stay, the cabin is small and cosy, but you have everything you need.
And the view is 'GEWELDIG' !!!!
You don't have to count sheep to fall a sleep, you just have to listen. Magnificent!!!
The shepherds hut was exactly what we were after. Perfect place to relax. The hut felt homey and modern with everything we needed provided. Lots of great local walks and pubs within a 20-40min walk or five min driver. Will definitely be back
If you are looking for a quiet and relaxing location with amazing sunsets then this is the place to stay. The hosts Petra and Matt were so helpful and welcoming. The Shepherds hut was even better than expected, every little detail and more has been thought about. The hut is set in a perfect location to take in the distant views and sunsets, yet with the upmost of privacy. We had planned to go to a local pub one evening for dinner but we were enjoying the hut so much that we decided to stay in both evenings. Lots of local walks accessible from the hut (the hosts also provide a folder with maps of local walks). Couple of lovely pubs within easy walking distance. Highly recommend staying here, you will not regret it. We will be back for another visit soon
The weather this weekend helped! But my partner and I had never stayed in such a property before - and were (as Londoners used to just staying in hotels normally!) wondering if we'd fit! But we did. And it was just lovely. Petra and her husband - our hosts were extremely welcoming and helpful. And just down the small path if you need help. But the property is still extremely private. There's loads to see in the area in a very lovely part of East Sussex. Not far from Brighton or Eastbourne - so lovely coast. And countryside is beautiful - with lots of places to eat in lovely villages. The 'pint of prawns' and Gazpacho soup at the 'The Old Oak' (just down the road). was fab! And the sunsets in the Shepherds Hut - really are divine! All amenities perfect. We had SUCH a lovely time. Would recommend this place big time to anyone. Also to any LGBTQ+ holidaymakers thinking of something 'different' - it's always important to say this. That you'll get a very warm wecome!
This was a very well done hut. The hut is situated to maximize the sunset view. The view did not disappoint. The hut has everything a person needs for a nice quiet relaxing stay. There was easy communication with the hosts. The hosts provide maps of the area and lots of information. It's walkable to either Berwick or Polegate train stations. The location is perfect for exploring the South Downs and the Seven Sister's National Parks. There are many walking public pathways. I used Komoot to help me find them, but most have marking posts near them as well.
Overall, if your looking for a quiet escape this is the place to be.
Hi, we're an active outdoorsy couple who love walks with our friendly dog Dexter, hiking, waters ports traveling, campervaning and looking after our mini smallholding, amongst other things. We've been hosting since 2014. We started in Brighton and then moved out into the countryside where we host our lovely shepherd's hut and a holiday cottage. Matt is from the area so if you want any info on local walks he's your man! Happy to do a contact less check-in but also happy to welcome you in personally. Always on hand/phone to help if you need anything.
