This was a last minute booking for us to getaway for a few days during the week. The location is great. Nice quiet neighborhood. Great access to the beach. Beds were comfortable. Met our needs. I would come back.
Stayed here on Memorial Day weekend for a golf trip with some buddies. Walking distance to Beach and short drive to many shops, restaurant's and bars. I have booked here 3 times and itâs my go to every year for this trip. Plenty of beds, indoor and outdoor shower. Tough to beat.
The property is not oceanside, but it is near the ocean - it takes a five minute walk to get to Covellâs Beach. For the amount of space, this property is overpriced. There is a musty smell even through hot, sunny days. At night, slugs are everywhere: in the kitchen sink, in the bathroom, etc. (we found six one night alone), plus other bugs - we kept windows and doors closed all the time because of the air conditioner, so they probably came in from one of the many holes this condo has. The condo is part of a single-floor duplex, and the separating wall are paper thin: we could hear our very loud neighbors all the time, and once their toddler woke up at 5:45 am, we all were up. We could hear even the snoring at night! The place does not have a lot of hospitable feel to it: for example, there is a Keurig machine but no pods. If you want to cook here, bring everything: the pots and pans are old and random (only one lid matches one of the pots, two identical pasta strainers, etc.), and there were not enough utensils for actually cooking. The host makes you bring your own linens, or wash them, or charges you for them despite the expensive cleaning fee. In short, great location, but overpriced, not as advertised, noisy, and you need to bring a lot of your own things for cooking and sleeping. This host is doing just the bare minimum. Not recommended.
The location of property is great. The neighborhood is very peaceful and safe. This is a duplex unit, so there is a common wall between the two units and you can hear the other party. The floors seem to have some soft spots which I would think is rot on subfloor.
It wasnât in the description that there were two houses connected. It was very hot when we first got there. The ac wasnât great. Smaller bed were very uncomfortable. But great location!
The house is great. It is clean, comfortable, with plenty of towels, linens and laundry. The kitchen met our needs and the grill was used everyday. The best part was that it was a very short walk to beach. Furthermore, its a great place to bike ride and walk. Grocery shopping, ice cream, etc--everything you would need on a vacation was readily available. Finally, it is not that far up the Cape which I really appreciated as we were leaving watching the cars creeping up the road. Overall, I highly recommend.
Jim is a wonderful host. He was quick to respond to questions. The unit was clean and although we brought our own sheets and towels, there were plenty available. Our 1 year old granddaughter was with us and I was very happy on the cleanliness of the unit upon our arrival. Perfect location for access to the beach. We visit the area every September and hopefully will be able to rent with Jim again.
We had a great stay here this summer. We delayed our trip by a day because of Hurricane Henri (which never ended up hitting!) We had a million questions related to the Hurricane and Jim answered each one quickly and with patience. He was very understanding of our worries and helped alert us when the storm shifted course and it was clear our stay would be safe. The location of the rental was excellent with a quiet residential beach just across the street to the left and the public beach, Craigville, across to the right. There are a few restaurants nearby and many options in Hyannis just a short drive away. The unit was compact, but our family fit nicely. The kids room with three single beds had plenty of space for a pack n play for our littlest and plenty of dressers so we didnât have to live out of our bags for the week. We made full use of the kitchen (no dishwasher), washer/dryer and grill and loved eating at the picnic table in the backyard. We were unaware when we booked that this was a two unit condo, but everything was very separated so we barely noticed anyone else was there. It was a great stay to finish off our summer!
The property was perfectly situated to the beach, with great access and a very do-able walking distance (especially with 3 kids and beach equipment). The house itself was very clean when we arrived, and was very modern and updated. A great cottage retreat for the family, and a very relaxed environment. The kitchen and appliances were immaculate, though some furniture was worn, such as the couch. But the house worked out perfectly as far as location and cleanliness, and would definitely come back.
The property is in a great location. Fair warning, the pictures shown here were not of the unit we were given. They were the other side of the duplex which appeared to be in much better condition then the unit we were given. Lots of discolored water damage spots covering the ceilings. The walls have gaps in the paneling/molding leaving the walls unfinished. Many of the screens on the windows were missing or the windows would not stay open which made it hard to open the windows for fresh air. There is clearly a bug problem with ants all over the kitchen counters/sink, and june bugs and silverfish all over the rest of the unit. All in all, a decent unit, but our expectations were set a little higher for the money we spent and the pictures that we saw on the listing.
Really loved the close location to the beach. In early june the beach and town were pretty quiet except on weekends. The coffee table at the house was broken when we arrived, and the kitchen was small and didn't have a dishwasher. Overall we enjoyed our stay.
We had a great week at the Cape. The location was perfect. A quick walk to a private beach or the public beach of Craigville. The water was warm , clear, and calm. My boys enjoyed being able to kayak pretty easily. We brought bikes and enjoyed biking for ice cream many nights. The house was surprisingly updated and we felt like we really lucked out. Thank you.
This location was excellent with easy access to the beach. But I spent a lot of time cleaning including the whole first day. We left the place cleaner then we found it.
Jim is a considerate and responsive host. The place was clean when We arrived. It is close to the beach. The AC in the living room provided comfort on extra hot days. Washer and dryer were a nice bonus. We had a wonderful time and will be back next year.
Overall, the location of the property cannot be beat. The beach is literally a 3 minute walk and with the need to lug a lot of stuff around for our little kids, that was a prime factor in choosing this place and it was super convenient. Communicating with Jim throughout the process was super easy and he was really quick to respond to all of my questions. With the beach as the main draw, this totally fit the bill. Additionally, the kitchen and the bathroom were handsomely redone recently, it seems.
My one piece of feedback is to heighten attention to how thoroughly the place is cleaned, especially at the moment where concerns over the pandemic are front of mind, especially for us as a family with little kids. There were a few places where it was clear that the cleaning person had not paid attention to. Additionally, we pulled some of the fans out of the closet and had to really wipe them down as they were pretty dirty. I think this should be a fairly simple fix though and overall, we would stay here again.
